As we approach the Thanksgiving Holiday, it’s easy to get caught up in the frenzy of work challenges and family obligations. The temptation when dealing with stress is to focus on the negative and forget about all the blessings we have as individuals and a Company. For this letter, I want to reflect on all we have to be thankful for at Dynamic.

Let’s not miss the forest through the trees. Together, we are building the best glass and metal panel company in Texas. In 2019, we have added over 100 employees across Houston, Dallas and Austin and now have over 260 direct employees and a multiple of that in family members. Backlog has grown 48% in the last year to over $100 million of future work and consists of many of the highest profile projects in Texas. But what I’m most proud of is the team we’re building. The talent we have at this Company is second to none. We’ve brought in new talent from the outside and promoted many from within to leadership positions. This has allowed us to grow our capacity as well as tackle bigger, more complex projects. When challenges inevitably arise, I’m consistently impressed by the way the team comes together to work together and solve problems. We have many areas that still need improvement, but I know we have the team to accomplish any challenges put in front of us. The proof of our success is in the fact that our customers continue to come back to us again and again for their toughest projects. The team has done an incredible job managing more volume and integrating new people into our culture. At Dynamic Glass, we have much to be thankful for!

I wanted to close with thanking all of you for your contributions to this Company. I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and hope you enjoy your time with loved ones. The future is bright at Dynamic Glass and I hope you all are a part of the exciting times ahead.

I’m happy to see so many of you following our safety policies and procedures and giving us ideas that can help improve the safety and quality at our jobsites. Many of you are bought in on safety and are helping keep everyone accountable. This led to no recordable injuries last quarter and only one first aid injury. However, we still have improvements that need to be made if we are going to maintain our industry leading safety record. Please continue to follow EVERY one of our safety policies and procedures and watch out for your coworker’s safety as well as your own. Sometimes we get into a complacent rhythm and overlook safety which is why it is important to hold each other accountable. We all have our off days but together we can make sure each day is safe. If you see something unsafe speak up, you could save a life!

Now is the time of year when we need to be extra focused. It’s the holiday season, the weather is cooling and workers are focusing on making more money to give their families the best Christmas possible. Also, the holidays can be emotional times for some employees and that can lead to bad decisions. Please do your best to keep an eye out for behaviors that are out of the character or a change in work ethic. These can be signs of coworkers in need. If you see something say something. Let’s strive to do our best to help everyone and make sure everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

Dynamic Glass partnered with McCarthy and Perkins & Will on this amazing structure. Collin Technical Campus consists of a 600’ wide academic building with three connecting trade buildings. This campus will train future construction workers once opens. Highlights of our scope included 100,000 square feet of curtain wall, fire rated curtain wall, polycarbonate panel system from Israel and a full interior scope. We sat down with the Project Manager Jeff Kraemer to ask a few questions about the project.

What did you find most challenging about executing a project of this size? Personally, it’s the biggest single project scope I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of. As a team, we’re attacking an aggressive schedule and working in multiple areas of the project simultaneously that each require sequencing with other trades. Trying to keep enough temporary clips on the job, our crew was setting glass so fast and flying through themWhat did you like most about being a part of the project? The project team involved, top to bottom. All divisions are working well together to be ahead of schedule and budget. Wide variety of items within our scope. Curtain wall, storefront, interior glazing, fire rated frames, polycarbonate frames, smoke baffle glass, louversWhat takeaways do you have from this project to apply to future large projects? Reinforcement of the importance of pre-planning and continuous communication.

Can you name an example of the DG team working together to succeed? There were a couple frames delivered to the site that the sealant at the zone plugs had a few holes. Buford emailed Roger letting him know, and Roger responded within an hour thanking him and explaining his updated QC process since those frames had shipped. Thought it was really cool to see the communication back and forth kept so positive and everyone’s proactive response and actions. What is your favorite feature of the project? The west face of the Academic building. It’s almost 600’ feet wide and the structure has a large cantilever. Is there something most don’t know about the project that you would like to share? Collin College’s mascot is the Cougar
