THE RACE REPORT START: 175 riders kick off from Milano at 10:12 am. The pace is brisk since the start. Masnada, Maestri, Tonelli, Sagiv, Raggio, Schönberger, Henttala, Peron, Planet and Poli clip off at km 6. The peloton lets them go, and the gap deepens. . At the foot of the Capo Berta climb, the peloton splinters. Masnada remains at the front and clears the summit first, while the peloton is down the road. When leaving Imperia, Masnada is still leading by over the peloton. Average speed after six hours: 43.715 km/h. At the foot of the Cipressa climb, the peloton led by Astana riders is down on Masnada, and eventually bunches up at km 265, clearing the summit close together. Bonifazio clips off on the way down. At the end of the descent, Bonifazio is leading by over the peloton. With 15 km remaining to the finish, the gap is Bonifazio is reeled in at km 279, and the peloton bunches up a little before the Poggio climb. With 10 km to go, the peloton is rolling all together at brisk pace. At the foot of the Poggio climb, Stybar is setting the pace, with Alaphilippe sitting on his wheel. A small group comprising Sagan, Alaphilippe, Trentin, Kwiatkowski and Valverde, pulls a few seconds away just before clearing the summit. Trentin tries to clip off at the end of the descent, but he is caught up at the red flag. The front group heads for a final sprint. FINISH (Sanremo km 291) Alaphilippe roars to victory ahead of Naesen, Kwiatkowski, Sagan, Mohoric, Van Aert, Valverde, Nibali, Clarke, Trentin and the others, one by one. In Italia, tra diretta e speciali pre e post gara a partire dalle 14:00, la Classicissima di Primavera ha trovato su RAI 2 uno spazio di quasi quattro ore. Dalle 14:30 gli appassionati italiani hanno potuto seguire la corsa anche su Eurosport, che ha apportato un notevole contributo alla copertura internazionale della gara trasmettendo in 53 territori europei, in Australia e in 10 Paesi del Sud Est Asiatico, con commento in 20 diverse lingue. Nel panorama europeo in chiaro, La Chaine L’Équipe ha offerto la corsa in esclusiva sui propri schermi, mentre gli appassionati belgi hanno potuto seguire l’evento su VTM Medialaan in lingua fiamminga e su RTBF in lingua francese. La prima Monumento della stagione è stata trasmessa live in Sudafrica sugli schermi di Supersport e in tutto il Medio Oriente e Nord Africa sui canali di OSN. Oltreoceano, la Sanremo è andata in onda in diretta sulle piattaforme Fubo.TV e FloSports in USA e Canada e su TDN in Messico e America Centrale, mentre il network ESPN ha coperto il Brasile, il resto del Sudamerica e i Caraibi. TV COVERAGE The international broadcast feed of the 110th edition of the Milano-Sanremo NamedSport, produced by the host broadcaster RAI, covered the final three hours of the race live, and has been distributed in 151 countries around the world and covered all five continents across 15 different TV networks. In Italy, in between the live coverage and the special pre and post-race programs, "La Primavera" had on the public broadcaster RAI 2 a coverage of around four hours. Starting from 14:30, the race has been broadcasted in Italy on Eurosport too, which covered widely the race internationally on 53 European countries, in Australia and in 10 South-East Asia territories, with commentary in 20 different languages. Free-to-view coverage in Europe was available to viewers throughout France, exclusively via La Chaine L'Équipe and in Belgium on the screens of VTM Medialaan in Flemish and on RTBF in French. The first Monument of the season was broadcasted live in South Africa on the screens of Supersport and throughout the Middle East and North Africa, on the OSN channels. In the Americas, Milano-Sanremo has been broadcasted live on the Fubo.TV and FloSports platforms (in the US and Canada), and on TDN in Mexico and Central America, while the ESPN network covered Brazil, the rest of South America and the Caribbean. In the Far East, Japanese fans could follow the race live on DAZN; in New Zealand, the race has also been broadcasted by Sky Sports. Footage of the race were also distributed around the world through the SNTV (Sports News Television) and Perform platforms.
