Addio cara geografia

◤Goodbye dear geography
§ After reading the text carefully, we discussed our opinions for a long time and we
came to a conclusion. We believe that nowadays, despite the different
technologies made available to us, it is essential to know geography, not only to
orient ourselves but also because geography also means "knowledge" and
"culture". Besides, in our opinion, geography is one of the most interesting
subjects to study, as it allows us to get to know new places and cultures of each
country. At least once in life each of us has attended a lesson on the maps and
how to know how to orient using only a map. But let's say the truth, who of us
today still uses a map? None of us. The gps and google maps have taken the
place of the paper map, a little for our convenience and a little because it is
much easier. But on the other hand, there is the fact that if you are in an area
where is no network, you have headed for it. The maps must be understood and
studied before, we young boys were born in the age of technology and so we
are used to GPS and not to maps. To approach more to the use of maps, we
have created a walk in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe: Barcelona.
◤La camminata per Barcellona
§ Benvenuti alla prima camminata catalogna! Oggi i nostri partecipanti avranno
◤Walk trough Barcellona
§ Welcome to the first
Catalan walk! Today our
participants will be lucky
to walk through the
beautiful streets of
Barcelona! The walk is
5.3 km long and runners
can choose to walk or
run. The three who will
arrive first at the finish
line will have at their
disposal three
magnificent prizes. Now
let's illustrate the path
chosen by our fantastic
organizers...
◤Partenza
Barcellona. Uomo dal grande spessore culturale, versato nella
letteratura, nelle arti, nelle lingue e nelle scienze.
ondulate.
◤departure
§ As a starting point, the Park Guell was chosen
for its magnificence. The starting is at the
center of the park at 14.30, we cross a piece of
park and then we take the road to
PompeuFabra. We’ll go straight until we reach
the Guinardò roundabout, then continue to
Carrer de la Marina. The park owes its name to
EusebiGüell, a rich Catalan business owner,
member of an influential bourgeois family of
the city of Barcelona. Man of great cultural
depth, poured into literature, arts, languages
and sciences. The Güell park covers 17.18
hectares and is located on Devonian terrain,
formed by layers of slate and limestone. Gaudí
cleverly manipulates the park's architecture in
a narrative way to evoke a harmonious
balance between the built environment and the
natural environment: the Gaudian forms, in
fact, intuit the evolutionary dynamics of Nature
and interpenetrate with it thanks to their wavy
forms.
◤Seconda tappa
80 metri.
◤Second stage
§ Going on towards Carrer de Marina we will meet
another emblematic point of Barcelona, the Sagrada
Familia where we will have a break of about ten
minutes ffor those who need it. La Sagrada Família, is
a large Catholic basilica masterpiece of the architect
Antoni Gaudí, maximum exponent of Catalan
modernism. The vastness of the scale of the project
and its characteristic style have made it one of the
main symbols of the city. Gaudí's project evolves from
a neo-Gothic style (first draft) to a naturalist, organic,
adapted to nature, in fact the interior of the Sagrada
Familia was created as if it were the structure of a
forest, with tree-shaped columns that go to divide so
as to form branches that support the structure
sometimes intertwined hyperboloids. The plant of the
church was designed with a Latin cross, with the high
altar over the crypt surrounded by seven apsidal
chapels, a transept with three naves with the portals of
the Nativity and the Passion, in the longitudinal
direction the central body of five naves with the portal
of Glory. The plant has a dimension of 110 × 80
meters.
◤Terza tappa
§ Alla fine di Carrer de Marina dovremmo
svoltare a destra verso Carrer de
Venecia e prosegue la camminata verso
una delle piazze più famose e
frequentate di Barcellona: Piazza de
Catalunya.
frequentatissimo e importantissimo viale.
◤Third stage
§ At the end of Carrer de Marina we should turn
right towards Carrer de Venecia and continue
walking towards one of the most famous and
popular squares in Barcelona: Piazza de
Catalunya. Around it are concentrated the
finance, trade and tourism of the Catalan
capital, and is clearly a meeting place, also
because it is the point from which the Rambla
descends towards the sea and from which the
Passeig de Gràcia originates, another very
popular and very important avenue.
◤Ultima tappa
Ferdinando II d'Aragona, sovrani spagnoli.
◤Last stage
Continue along the Rambla until you get to the Statue of Columbus, a stone's throw from the sea and the port of Barcelona. The monument is among the most famous of the city and of Spain whole and boasts a height of 60 meters. It was built on the initiative of the merchant Antoni Fages I Ferrer in honor of the great Genoese navigator, to remember that in this city, returning from the New World. Columbus went to Isabella of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon, Spanish sovereigns. It is located in the Portal de la Pau square, a point of union between the lower end of the Ramblas and the Passeig de Colom. The statue represents Columbus with his right arm extended with his index finger pointing towards the sea, it is also said that points towards the island of Mallorca. We arrived at the end of the walk, at this point there will be a banquet with water and apples and the three winners will also be elected.
