Tra vari tipi di progetti che proponiamo ci sono dei campi di volontariato speciali che hanno il codice WHV - “World Heritage Volunteers” e si svolgono nei siti culturali e naturali che fanno parte di UNESCO World Heritage List. Questi workcamps si chiamano PATRIMONITO projects e hanno come obiettivo preservare le bellezze culturali e naturali del pianeta, promuovere il patrimonio dell’umanità e rendere giovani i veri protagonisti del territorio.

CAMPI DI VOLONTARIATO NEI SITI UNESCO!

Tra vari tipi di progetti che proponiamo ci sono dei campi di volontariato speciali che hanno il codice WHV - “World Heritage Volunteers” e si svolgono nei siti culturali e naturali che fanno parte di UNESCO World Heritage List. Questi workcamps si chiamano PATRIMONITO projects e hanno come obiettivo preservare le bellezze culturali e naturali del pianeta, promuovere il patrimonio dell’umanità e rendere giovani i veri protagonisti del territorio.Quest’anno 53 progetti in 34 paesi del mondo sono stati selezionati per la campagna che coinvolgerà i volontari internazionali nella valorizzazione di ben 50 siti UNESCO in Africa, America Latina, Asia, Europa e Medio Oriente. 46 sono le organizzazioni di volontariato che hanno aderito alla campagna WHV organizzando i campi di lavoro nei siti di patrimonio dell’umanità che nel 2015 si intitola “Patrimonito takes a stand in a changing global environment”.Visita il nostro database: http://www.yap.it/campi-di-lavoro/database-campi/ e scegli un campo che fa per te!

…in Palestina!Salvare il villaggio di Battir - il sito UNESCO a rischio

IPYL071 - BATTER: SAVING HERITAGEDates: 05/06/15 - 15/06/15Type of work: RENO / ENVI Age: 18+Number of vols: 30Extra fee: 250 EURWork: This work camp, is a continuation of a previous work camp that is connected to the scheme (world Heritage - Palestine: Land of olives and vines. Cultural Landscape of Southern Jerusalem, Battir village) seeks in the first

place to protect and renovate old and Palestinian sites in a very ancient village with wonderful landscape and nature. The place has been registered by the WHC in UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2014.The work will include the following activities: -Rehabilitating the old places in it including the very ancient water canals (Battir Village has a special and ancient water system that is connected to several water natural resources). -Assist in rebuilding of an ancient wall that leads to the very ancient water cistern at the edge of the village. This wall will help the locals and internationals reaching the water cistern, which is hoped to be a touristic historical and natural attraction. ME061 IPYL071 “ Batter : Saving Heritage and preparing for Battir 2020 ” -Working on several locations beside the ancient train railway which was established since the Ottomans Empire that was a main line that connected Turkey to Palestine. The location of the railway is the borderline between Palestine and Israel. (Detailed program will be sent ahead of the workcamp

date) Cultural Activities: The afternoon will be used to give volunteers an inter-cultural learning experience, with focus on exposing the Palestinian culture within the context of the occupation and hopes for the future. This will include visits to refugee camps in the Bethlehem area, tours of place of interest, lectures, and most importantly interaction with the local people. The volunteers will be able to visit the different associations and centers where they can watch Documentaries or attend lectures about the situation in Palestine and the Middle East. They will also have the opportunity to speak with the Palestinian politicians and activists to open the space for them to find the answers for all the questions they want to ask. The volunteers will also have the opportunity to visit other cities in occupied West Bank. Detailed day by day cultural program will be developed and sent to the participants before their arrival.

WHV-FSL-SPL-262- MAHABALLIPURAM-CHENNAIDates: 17/08/15 - 30/08/15Type of work: RENO / ENVI / EDU / CULTAge: 18 - 65Number of vols: 20Extra fee: 175 EURWork: The main objective of the workcamp in Mahabalipuram would be to spark interest among the local community by involving children and international volunteers in activities that promote sensitivity and respect towards the World Heritage site. The workcamp in Mahabalipuram will focus on the protection of the cultural heritage and the sites of historical importance and on creating awareness among the locals, school children, tour-guides and tourists. FSL India will organize activities for the school children within the boundaries of World Heritage Site: A. Clean up activities around the monuments in Mahabalipuram, which is most visited by tourists. The objective is to spark interest among the local community by involving local and international volunteers in activities that promote sensitivity and respect towards the World Heritage site. B. Preparation of Nursery: Planting saplings at the nursery. One child will be identified to look after each sapling. It would be a good activity to address this change and involve the local children to plant trees and teach them to look after them till they can survive. C. Organizing Drawing competition for the school children and opening it up to local people by setting up an open gallery. Involve local Authorities, Tour Guides Association, teachers, and any other potential local partners. This would help build partnership for later work. D. Awareness Walk/ Street Play with locals – The volunteers and locals will prepare a skit on heritage conservation and environment issues. The Street Play involves imparting of messages on Heritage conservation through acting and miming. The Awareness Walk will be a procession in the main area and we will spread messages on ecology,

hygiene and conservation. E. Initiate active participation of youth by encouraging school children to become “Young Guardians / Ambassadors” of the Heritage site. To achieve this, we will form a “Heritage Club” in the school.

WHVCT-003 - THE MOUNT SANDING NATIONAL PARK

Dates: 20/07/15 - 07/08/15Type of work: ENVI / STUDY / EDUAge: 18 - 28Number of vols: 12Work: World Heritage Volunteer Mount Sanqing National Park is listed in the WHC campaign 2015. This is the 3rd time undertook by CSETC in partnership with Jiangxi Sanqingshan Management Committee Tourist Administration and Jiangxi Linchuan No.1 Middle School. The project aims at understanding the concept of world heritage, not only the students in the school and the tourists, but also the

volunteers and our youths get the deeper understanding about world heritage and the Mount Sanqingshan National Park to create an awareness raising about the importance of protecting the World Heritage site and the Mount Sanqingshan National Park. Organizing the volunteer service is to make the influence on the tourists and local residents to raise their consciousness about the surrounding precious world heritage.

AMVIAC08 - TOTOLAPAN Dates: 12/07/15 - 25/07/15Type of work: RENO / CULT Language: Spanish / EnglishAge: 18 - 28Number of vols: 15 Extra fee: 185 EURWork: Former convent of San Guillermo Abad is one of 14 monasteries in the called Convent Route and is in excellent condition. This is the first time that the village of Totolapan will

host an international voluntary service project and what a best occasion that the World Heritage Volunteers program. In order to give more visibility to this World Heritage site and sensitize the local population to the importance of protecting their heritage, volunteers will clean and realise secondary tasks in the former convent and in the chapels of San Miguel de Nepopualco and The Assumption of Ahuatlán under the supervision of the National Institute of Anthropology and History of Morelos. They will also make presentations on World Heritage and their countries during the summer program of the community; awareness activities with children and young people will focus on local intangible heritage. Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn about materials and local building techniques used in the preparation of mortar for filling joints in buildings of this type of construction, as well as how to prepare the paint made out of lime, widely used in the sixteenth century to protect flattened surfaces.

Through this type of programs, we want to encourage youngsters for getting involved into our society and to promote international awareness development. Moreover, we want our youngsters to take part in these programs, through it, our youngsters are able to bind a local with a global awareness. Working along with International youngsters from all over the world, will develop language skills and team work skills, which are nowadays very important for our society. "To do one’s bit”. This will be the 8th year this project is organized in Morelia City; the aim of this project is to maintain the historic Morelia’s downtown declared world’s cultural heritage by UNESCO to preserve all its splendor and beauty. Morelia is a beautiful colonial city built in “pink stone” it has a really nice weather, volunteers in past projects helped in different restoration activities and workshops to create awareness about the importance to preserve the World Cultural Heritage. The local host will be happy to have a new group because of the very good memories of past volunteers and the very good results of this project. People in Morelia is very friendly, so if you are looking for a project in a very nice city with a lot of culture and history and to do something useful and make new friends, this project is for you!Along with groups of local volunteers, the international volunteers will do different activities to restore historical buildings. Volunteers will paint specific parts of the downtown as well as maintenance tasks such as restoration of ancient fountains and monuments. The teams of local volunteers are looking forward to welcome the international volunteers to make a meaningful work but also make friends and show the Mexican culture!

The work consists of dissembling a supporting wall in order to repair the stones and then rebuild the wall. The technical overseer will instruct volunteers in traditional techniques of masonry

identical to those used during the original construction of Fort Liédot. The volunteers will organize intercultural activities with local schoolchildren. They will be able to take part in various activities proposed by local clubs, including fishing and sailing. You will also be able to go to the beach to enjoy some walks, beach volley and bike rides. The volunteers will take part in the community’s music festival as well as many other local events, and will be able to visit certain nearby towns, such as La Rochelle, Rochefort. The group of volunteers will also help the community organize cultural heritage days.

Sul nostro database http://www.yap.it/campi-di-lavoro/ a partire da Marzo 2015 sono disponibili più di 2000 progetti in 60 paesi del mondo. Nei campi di volontariato non c’è una data di scadenza per presentare la candidatura però è sempre consigliato di muoversi in anticipo perché la disponibilità dei posti può cambiare nel giro di pochi giorni.Una volta scelto il progetto, iscriversi ad un campo di lavoro è molto semplice, basta inviarci:1) la scheda di iscrizione (VEF) disponibile sul nostro sito; 2) la ricevuta del versamento della quota socio annuale (30 euro) e della quota campo (80 euro). La quota campo nel caso in cui la propria candidatura non venga accettata e/o non ci siano progetti alternativi a cui si è interessati viene integralmente rimborsata.I costi a carico del volontario sono: quota associativa (30 Euro), quota d’iscrizione al progetto (80 Euro). Il vitto e l’alloggio sono garantiti dall’associazione di accoglienza per tutta la durata del progetto, le spese di viaggio sono a carico del volontario. Prima della partenza si riceve un foglio di viaggio chiamato infosheet con tutte le informazioni utili su come arrivare, il punto di incontro con gli altri volontari, contatti di riferimento e di emergenza, cosa portare con se, etc.
