WORK EXPERIENCE November 2015 – current Project System Manager at General Electric Switzerland GE Power & Water - Power Services (Acquisition of Alstom’s business by general Electric).

Recent main activities: Technical process leader for plant flexibilization for 9FA/9FB combined cycles. In this role I perform and co-ordinate plant process improvements within GT OpFlex portfolio. In these projects I take the leadership to handle plant assessment and later on to define project schedule, man-hours effort, required new hardware. The final output interface with customer is the technical scope document, project schedule and load schedule profile for all required tests. Support GE-Digital in defining the customer values for improved solutions.

June 2014 – October 2015

Project System Manager at Alstom Power Switzerland Thermal Power – Thermal Services, Plant Competence Centre

As project system manager I manage the project, or the sub-project, assigned to me by performing the project planning, monitoring the project execution and formally closing the project with a formal handover of all required documentation. During the planning phase I define the activities, required resources and the proper scheduling considering the project internal and external milestones. Budget, schedule and quality monitoring are performed together with program manager and sales department. Within the project execution I take the responsibility to perform also some process tasks. As project system manager I’m in charge to manage the site implementation and supervising the product implementation verify the client’s acceptance. I co-ordinate the project with all the resources involved including the scheduling and the interactions with suppliers. General tasks as process engineer within the project lifecycle:

Plant Operating and Control Concept. This document is the project scope statement; it describes what is delivered, the restriction and the exclusions.

Responsibility to elaborate or review process design specifications (e.g. P&ID, PFUP and control system inputs, process specifications).

Managing plant baseline assessments. Risk Assessment (FMEA, HAZOP) and monitoring that all the

mitigation actions are put in place according to the project schedule. Process specification for new hardware and supplier co-ordination Operator guideline, site training. Plant documentation and operating manuals review and handover to

client. General tasks during product development or project supporting

Product owner for plant performance assessment. Create or review operation concepts and technical specifications for

combined cycle power plants. Support operational issues and participate in R&D development. Remote control data analysis and performance

monitoring/improvement. Review, assess, analyze and redesign plant operation according to

market changes or change in scope of supply. Special project:

PMS (Project Manager System) for fast start-up project: identify, develop and implement flexibility packages to reduce start-up time on existing combined cycles fleet. Project’s target is to develop modular elements to be adapted project specific or to specific clients’ requests (reduced start-up time and/or improve power output mainly for unscheduled starts). Within the project I’m assigned as system owner for complete water steam cycle (condenser evacuation, steam temperature optimization, water chemistry, bypass operation concepts, plant loading gradients, HRSG & ST improvements). As project manager for this system I provide the project planning to define deliverables, activities list and the required resources. I provide the proper project schedule, cost estimation and project internal milestones. Based on our internal organization structure, during the project execution I perform directly some process tasks and I perform the required interactions with the suppliers. This to ensure the critical deliverables are directly executed and monitored by the system owner to avoid change request that can cause delay or increase internal costs. As PMS, I’m in charge to define and plan outage activities for the product implementation as well as to formally close the project (close out report, formal acceptance, and company internal procedure update).

PMS (Project Manager System) to provide plant optimization on other OEM. The project is divided into different sub-projects (GT, ST, HRSG, operation) and within the project I’m in charge to manage the overall plant integration to collect and manage the input from different sub-projects. During the planning phase I’m in charge to manage the plant baseline assessment to provide the required input to proper define activities tasks during the engineering phase. I define the overall project scope, schedule and budged. In this position I have to interact with tendering and sales department to align the project budget to the market price or client’s specific requirements.
