LE MERAVIGLIE DEL SICHUANDopo diversi viaggi nel “continente cinese” ho iniziato a selezionare le varie Province per cercare di penetrare più a fondo le realtà di questo immenso Paese. Così, ho deciso di recarmi nel Sichuan, una provincia poco conosciuta al turismo di massa che mi ha dato sensazioni uniche. Oltre alle sue indescrivibili bellezze naturali come il Parco Nazionale di Huanglong ,nella valle di Jiuzhaigou soprannominato: “World Wonder”, incluso nel Patrimonio mondiale UNESCO nel 1992 ,ci sono monumenti storici eccezionali come il grande Buddha di Leishan, le grotte di Dazu, il Centro di allevamento del Panda gigante e una miriade di cose interessanti da vedere. Il Sichuan ha un’estensione di 485mila kq. con oltre cento milioni d’abitanti che ne fa la terza Provincia più popolosa della Cina. I suoi abitanti appartengono a 53 etnie diverse tra cui la minoranza tibetana degli Yi. Confina a nord col Gansu a nord est con lo Shanxi a sud est col Guizhou a sud con lo Yunnan e a ovest col Tibet. E’ attraversato da alcuni affluenti del fiume azzurro come il Min e il Tu. Proprio su una collina bagnata da queste vie d’acqua è scolpita una gigantesca figura di Buddha seduto alta 71 metri. A pochi chilometri dalla bella capitale Chengdu è situato il centro scientifico per la riproduzione del Panda gigante, una visita per chi ama la natura è assolutamente d’obbligo. Un discorso a parte va riservato alle grotte di Dazu. In varie parti della Cina esistono grotte scolpite di grande interesse ma quelle di Dazu sono uniche. Infatti mentre tutte le altre grotte custodiscono immagini varie della vita del Buddha, quelle di Dazu, oltre ad essere dipinte, raffigurano la vita popolare del tempo, animali, arnesi da lavoro, contadini ecc. Un vero e proprio catalogo delle attività antiche di questa parte del Celeste Impero. Ma tra le meraviglie quella che più stupisce è la valle di Huanglong situata ad ovest sui contrafforti tibetani nella quale vivono molti contadini di etnia Kham dove ,da una montagna che raggiunge i tremila metri di altitudine, scendono a terrazzamenti naturali decine di laghetti di travertino dalle acque cristalline che ad un certo punto, quando la foresta più sotto s’infittisce, formano cascate spettacolari. Immaginate un Iguassù di montagna! Giù nella valle, altri laghi più grandi e dai colori sfumati tra verdi e azzurri pieni di pesci invitano a camminare lungo le sponde per ammirare i riflessi degli alberi e delle montagne circostanti. Un panorama che dire idilliaco è alquanto riduttivo, uno Yellowstone cinese insomma. Ma con in più, quello che non esiste nel grande parco americano, villaggi tibetani coloratissimi pieni di templi, statue e pagode. Un vero spasso difficile da raccontare. Il sentiero che porta in vetta, nei punti più ripidi è allestito con scalinate in legno e a tratti vi sono capanni in legno per sostare o per usufruire dei bagni. Chi poi non se la sente di salire così in alto può prendere una funivia e farsi la fantastica discesa a piedi godendo la vista dei laghi dall’alto. Turisti stranieri non ne ho visti, in compenso, la nuova classe media cinese adesso affolla massivamente queste mete un tempo riservate ai pochi ricchi che potevano spostarsi per il Paese. Anche se mi dilungassi per un intero volume non riuscirei comunque a rendervi partecipi delle mie grandi emozioni per cui, ligio come al solito al motto: una immagine val ben più di mille parole! Termino la mia presentazione verbale esortandovi a vedere di persona queste meraviglie ma, intanto, godetevi questi scatti che seppur insufficienti a descrivere ciò che ho provato sono sempre meglio di nulla. THE WONDERS OF SICHUAN After several trips to the "mainland China" I started to select the various provinces to try to penetrate deeper into the reality of this immense country. So, I decided to go in Sichuan, a province little known to mass tourism that has given me unique sensations. In addition to its indescribable natural beauty as the National Park of Huanglong, the Jiuzhaigou Valley nicknamed "Wonder World", included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992, there are exceptional historical monuments like the great Buddha of Leishan, the caves of Dazu, the breeding Center of the giant Panda and a host of interesting things to see. Its inhabitants belong to 53 different ethnic groups including the Tibetan minority of Yi. It is bordered to the north with the Gansu northeast with the Shanxi southeast Guizhou with the south and west with the Yunnan with Tibet. But among the wonders that is most surprising is the Huanglong valley situated west in the foothills where Tibetans live many farmers ethnic Kham where, from a mountain that reaches three thousand meters above sea level, down to dozens of natural terraces travertine pools from crystalline waters that at some point, when the forest below thickens, forming spectacular waterfalls. Imagine a Iguassu mountain! Down in the valley, other larger lakes and shaded colors between green and blue full of fish invite you to walk along the shore to admire the reflection of the trees and the surrounding mountains. An idyllic landscape that is quite an understatement to say, one of China Yellowstone fact. But with more, what does not exist in the great American park, colorful Tibetan villages full of temples, statues and pagodas. A real hoot difficult to tell. The path that leads to the summit, the steepest points is set up with wooden staircases and sometimes there are wooden huts to stay or to take advantage of the bathrooms. Who then can not bring himself to go so high it can take a cable car and get the fantastic downhill walk enjoying the view of the lake from above. Foreign tourists have not seen, on the other hand, the new Chinese middle class now flocking massively these goals once reserved for the wealthy few who could move to the country. Although I dilungassi for an entire volume would not be able to anyway to share my great emotions for which, as usual loyal to the motto: a picture val well a thousand words! I end my verbal presentation exhorting you to see for yourself these wonders but, in the meantime, enjoy these shots that although insufficient to describe what I felt were better than nothing.
