Queridos amigos,

Para muchos, el verano es un momento tranquilo para

relajarse y tomárselo con calma. ¡No aquí en St Barts! Todos nuestros

grupos continúan reuniéndose regularmente (consulte nuestro

calendario de eventos de verano). Esta semana me reuniré con nuestro

grupo de parejas y grupo de oración en español para preparar el Año

Pastoral de septiembre. La semana pasada tuve una excelente reunión

con nuestro Comité Parroquial de Finanzas (¡y a nuestra parroquia le

está yendo bien!) Estaremos preparando nuestro informe anual de

finanzas para que todos ustedes lo vean a fines de septiembre.

Nuestro personal está trabajando en la organización de

nuestra fiesta parroquial que tendrá lugar el sábado 24 de agosto,

el día de la fiesta de San Bartolomé. Promete ser otra reunión

maravillosa. Continuamos registrando niños y adultos para nuestros

programas de formación en la fe que comenzarán en septiembre.

¡Ya hay más de 500 registrados y listos para comenzar! Además,

la oficina de la Academia Católica de San Bartolomé está abierta

todos los días; todavía estamos inscribiendo a los niños para

septiembre (desde el jardín de infantes hasta el séptimo grado). Llame

Como puede ver, nuestro horario de misa del fin de semana

Dear Friends,

For many the summer is a quiet time to relax and

take it easy. Not here at St Barts! All of our groups

continue to meet on a regular basis (see our summer

schedule of events). This week I will be meeting with our

couples group and Spanish prayer group to prepare for

the September Pastoral Year. Last week I had an

excellent meeting with our Parish Finance Committee

(and our parish is doing well!) We will be putting

together our annual finance report for all of you to see

toward the end of September.

Our staff is working on organizing our parish

feast which will take place on Saturday, August 24 – the

feast day of St Bartholomew. It promises to be another

wonderful gathering. We continue to register children

and adults for our faith formation programs which will

begin in September. Already more than 500 are signed

up and ready to go! Also, St Bartholomew Catholic

Academy Office is open every day – we are still

registering children for September (Kindergarten to 7th

grade) Call the office for more info (718.446.7575)

As you can see our weekend mass schedule stays

the same – and our masses are overall still crowded.

Again, if you plan on being away on a weekend – please-

find your nearest local Catholic Church. Don’t take a

vacation from the Lord. Let’s pray for each other and our

entire parish family that all may be safe and find refresh-

ment in these summer days.

The 5 pm (English) and 7:30 pm (Spanish) will be cancelled. Instead

we will offer ONE bilingual mass at 6 pm. Following the mass we

the children in the parking lot and the school gym. Save the date

The Parish of Saint Bartholomew, is pleased to invite

everyone over 18 years of age,

to participate in the formation classes to obtain their three

sacraments of Christian initiation, Baptism,

First Communion, Confirmation.

Registrations will be on August 4 and 11 after the 10 am Mass

and 11:30 am in the convent (Corner of Whitney Ave & Judge St)

REQUIREMENTS: 1. Attend and be registered using Sunday envelopes in San Bartolome.

2. Submit birth certificate and baptismal certificate if applicable.

3. Classes in English will participate in the 10 am Mass

Classes in Spanish will participate in the 11:30 am Mass

4. Bring a signed bulletin (by priest) as proof that you attended Mass

5. Be single and not living with a partner.

6. Classes are every Sunday. Punctuality is required, Absences are not

tolerated, please be courteous with your peers and instructors at all times.

7. The use of cell phones in class is prohibited.

华人教友的好消息 圣巴尔多禄茂堂区每月第一个主日和第三个主日，下午1：30 在小教堂弥撒. 此外，

每周二晚上6:30有弥撒。敬请大家互相转告并参与。 Good news for our Chinese Catholic community in Elmhurst. St Bartholomew Parish will be offering mass in Chinese on the First and Third Sundays of the month at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel (Ithaca St). Also, the Chinese community will

gather every Tuesday at 6:30 pm in the chapel – Ithaca St. Please join us.

INDONESIAN MASS On the 4th Sunday of every month mass is celebrated

in Indonesian at 3 p.m. in the chapel Following the

mass there’s always a reception in Heafey Hall.

The next mass will be celebrated July 28 at 3 pm.

All are welcome to attend.

TAGALOG MASS

On the 3rd Sunday of every month mass is celebrated

in Tagalog for the Filipino community at 5 p.m.

in the chapel (Ithaca Street). The next mass

will be celebrated July 21.

NEED A LETTER FROM

YOUR CHURCH?

In order to give letters of recommendation,

letters attesting to character, sponsor

certificates, and other documents that may

have legal or religious purposes, it is

required that persons requesting those

documents be registered and be active

members of Saint Bartholomew Parish

at least three months prior to your

request. We can not provide any

of these documents to people not

registered in the parish.

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION

There are two times every Saturday for

confessions in the main church: 4 pm and

6:30 pm. Also Thursday at 6:30pm in the

Chapel. We now have two priests assigned

during these times to make it convenient

and less time to wait. Please do your

part…. come as close as possible to these

confession times. Take advantage of this

wonderful opportunity of God’s

mercy and love.

MAJOR PARISH FUNDRAISER Help make our fundraiser a success! All the monies raised will go toward a new sound system for our church. The cost to upgrade our system is $60,000. We will begin selling the raffles (4 chances for $20) on Monday, July 15. You will have a chance to win: $5,000 or $3000 or $1000 in prizes! We will need everyone’s help to reach our goal. Group leaders will soon be distributing the books to their members. Books will also be available for purchase after the weekend masses.
