The sax part is noted on both the traditional pentagram (transposed sounds!), both on a “trigram”. The clef post at the beginning of the trigram indicates the actions carried out with the mouth (upper line), with the left hand (central line) and with the right hand (lower line):

Scordatura:

The requested guitar must have the whammy bar and at least two pick-up.

For defining the timbre, the following instructions are given:

1. ! 1.pk: near the fretboard ON ! 2.pk: near the bridge ON! 1.+ 2.pk: both ON

2. ! Alti (treble maximum)! Bassi (bass maximum)! Normale (normal settings)

3.! Pulito (clean, bright)! Distorto (dostorted - crunch/overdrive)

Are requested:

- a volume pedal (Vp)

! Vp ON - change dynamics with pedal! Vp OFF - pedal up

- an e-bow

- a sponge with a rough surface

- a metal bottle-neck (MBN)

- a plectrum

The part is notated in two staves:

- upper staff

It represents the space between the bridge and the nut. The movements and actions to be performed on the strings of the instrument must be followed as closely as possible the figures drawn in this space.The blue figures refer to actions of the right hand, the red ones to those of the left hand.

In addition to the traditional treble clef (sounds an octave lower), it is used a symbol that changes the usual reading of the notes; in his presence, the spaces identify the strings of the instrument:

passage between the two conditions

vibrato with whammy bar

bending with whammy bar

use your thumb nail (crawled on the strings)

notes with triangular head: sounds produced by a rub of various nature (sponge, plectrum or nail)

Bottle-neck on all strings, play with right hand

hit the strings with the bottle-neck, between 1. and 2. pick-up

tapping freely on the six strings, as fast as possible, while respecting the overall rhythmic value

left hand: rub the rough surface of the sponge along the three lowest strings right hand: block strings vibrations

left hand: rub the rough surface of the sponge along the four highest strings right hand: hit the sixth string with the fingertip

left hand: up-glissando with bottle-neck; movements across the keyboard imitate the shape of the red line right hand: play all the strings before glissando

left hand: block the vibrations of the string right hand: rub the string with the plectrum

right hand: tap on the required three lowest strings and move the hand towards the bridge

left hand, bottle-neck: hit the string between 1. and 2. pick-up, then move imitating the shape of the red line

right hand: press the e-bow against the string with pulses that follow the indicated speed; move at the same time the e-bow to the 1. pick-up in order to get a more distorted sound left hand: move the bottle-neck on the string imitating the shape of the red line

Accordeon (amplified)

The part is written for accordeon with button keyboards. Sounds are real.There are no registers indications: the performer is free to choose the most appropriate.

For the performance are requested:

- two plectrums (hard - soft)- patafix or bluetack- a sponge with a rough surface

Preparazione e disposizioni per l’esecuzione

The lid must be open and the desk should be placed beyond the prop in a direction perpendicular to the strings.The strings of the following sounds must be damped:

apply a strip of patafix perpendicular to the strings just after the capotasto

apply a small ball of patafix just after the capotasto, about 20 cm. after the damper

apply a strip of patafix perpendicular to the strings about 28-30 cm. after the damper

apply a small ball of patafix about 30 cm. after the damper, just before the bridge.

It is advisable to identify the following notes with small labels placed on the dampers:

The part is notated on two staves.

In the first one are indicated actions to be played in both the piano strings, and keyboard (when the staff changes to pentagram).

In addition to the traditional treble clef, another one is used to change the staff, delimiting the space between the capotasto and the desk.The various symbols in this type of staff are marked in the point of the string where it must act to produce the sound.The used clef gives the following references:

In the second staff are noted both the pitches corresponding to the strings on which to act inside the piano, both the sounds produced on the keyboard.When required the use of the sponge, is given an indication of the approximate register in which to act on the strings:

right hand: rub the strings with the sponge’s rough surface, between capotasto and hammer..
