Author’s Note
The ambition within this section of text is to focus, spatially, on the creative potential within the sub-ject of heteronomy, particularly drawn around an object-oriented artistic approach. Furthermore, this text attempts an effect similar to a tracking shot, following impressions of motility when perceiving creative potential and acting out creative decisions. These projected thoughts, although of my own imagining, simulate what one may encounter within more traditional craft sensibilities and the seeming-ly all encompassing contemporary visual art sensi-bility.
15
My place under the sun, the beginning and prototype of
usurpation of the whole earth
Blaise Pascal
16
The naivety or purity some perceive in craft-based practices is based on a perpetuation of parametric visual consistency, that becomes perceptible when in relation to those creative practices having less predictable visual properties, going on to widen unbeknown parameters of aesthetic sense.1
A parametric visual consistency approximated along the line of an associational silhouette. For the sake of associational consistency, all differentiations remain packed away on the hither-side of a black border. Features not yet delineated solely for their visual properties then qualify current contemporary art practices with a surpassing characteristic to that of so called traditional craft. The lack of a given parametric silhouette deploys the viewer, the critic, and the creator to embed themselves onto and, inevitably around, the non-delineated. Participation

Just as bells once began by hugging the earthen walls
that burned them into being, a mass of centre is
altered by the insertion of a single thumb and then
lifted slightly upward - crowning - out unto a nascent
vessel. The form resembles a doughy un-notched
ashtray. Knuckles now pinch clay. Forms respond.
Flutes, buboes, and gyrations rise up against an
absence made in the otherwise unshaped. Hand
pressure syncopates with intention in the form of
a buckle. The shape now reminiscent of rung-out
cloth. Clung - thigh-tensed - since wrinkles hold
more readily in sweat-soaked attire. Clinging can
be a form of ringing

amassed - perfectly transparent - as a rime encrusting onto aesthetic sense. Much the same as in Ballard’s Crystal World, where everything is slowly encased in a perfectly clear membrane of transparency that shows itself refracting opaque as the result of chance spatial movements of the subject in relation to the sun. Whilst the subject is enabling the experience of an opacity off the otherwise transparent hoarfrost of the crystal world, the revelation is dependent on the image being induced by sunlight. This analogy of aesthetic sense is the spatially distended field of contemporary creative practice.
An effectuation of everything as though seen to be untouched, yet immediately flashed white by the honing to that single dispositional degree. The chance to see an otherwise mundane bicycle leaning against a neighbor’s fence suddenly glinting patches of reference to the monadic sun.

Layer one is a coal bed.
Layer two is cow manure or damp seaweed to tamp
the fire.
Layer three is seaweed roots.
Layer four is driftwood.
Layer five is seaweed.
Layer six is pots intermingled with kelp, sea-grasses,
and small driftwood.
Layer seven is leaves, twigs, and weeds.
Layer eight is seaweed.
Layer nine is pots intermingled with kelp, sea-
grasses, and small driftwood.
Layer ten is top dry seaweed.
Layer eleven is leaves, twigs, and weeds.
Layer twelve is cow manure surrounding the entire
mound from ground up.
20
A monadic relationship that does not give back a whole image but, instead, ordinary bike and fence bits interlaced with blown out contrasts of sun reference. Local object properties as if shadowed to the historical and autographic overlays of a now bleached perceptibility.
Willem Kalf guided by a single beam of light entering into a 15th century studio in order to erase the redness from the claw of the lobster or lay the hair-thin tracks onto the rim of a glass.2
An aesthetic experience where objects remain objects, whilst, simultaneously, pierced by glowing white expanses of someone’s exceptional, yet wholly situational, reference.
The information lost to the refractive properties of aesthetic rime, the ever present sense of the spent in the logic of this senseless spreading. Contemporary aesthetic sense, in what it benefits
21
Because reverentialism vapourizes into obscurity
like the banana peel atop the raku mound. Banana
properties, in this case its phosphorus, diffuse
within the mass of smoke rising above and the
chance deposits ingrained onto clay bodies below.
Banana particles roll down truncated spouts, lodge
within scored surface abrasions of, say, a sgraffito
branch on the face of a plate, or slow momentum
and stagnate at the apex of rotund vase. Banana
traces craze down and accumulate at the tapered
foot of a tea bowl - alchemically mixing with
mineral deposits from crushed vitamin pills or the
iron burnt out of dry cat food.
22
from such spatial expansion, develops - like hoarfrost - a diversity that intensifies the need to attribute the intelligibility of that diversity through a unicity of associative orientations. An associative orientation then encumbered by an impossible attentiveness to the multiplicity it wishes to encapsulate. The result then forms its own predicable parametric visual consistency and drains the once ensured motility. When presentation presents an aesthetic sense maintained by a united associative orientation, it fosters an instruction, which, in turn, urges, however fatalistically, the revolutionary demand to move further out into another soon-to-be absorbed spatial possibility.
Still, contemporary aesthetic sense enables, albeit momentarily, a singular choice for the subject. In the enacting of a creative decision there manifests a privatization of sense. The
23
Let me always obscure all that is already made
common. Help me refrain from always seeking
some unabsorbed obscurity. Another exception
except it won’t be the last, and furthermore, renders
the timeless reflex reified. The action is not yours
to bring to and, like Abraham, test, but, rather, you
being brought into the all-too-soon encompassing
inclusiveness of sense.
One reads, for instance, how “relics of the True
Cross were so prized that in Jerusalem deacons
stood guard to prevent the pilgrims who came to
kiss the holy wood from biting off a sliver.”1
24
experience of enacting a creative decision makes an impression. An impression which later constitutes a depression onto the parametric outgrowth of aesthetic formations. This is what constitutes a lasting impression. The momentary agency of a singular creative act turned into a simultaneously lasting, yet forgotten impact that gives a gradational depression on the surface of being. A depression easing the tension of the outward push in search of givenness. Individuation siphoning the potential found in the pluralities of directories within each witness’s formulation. Aesthetic rime is always moved forward in a referral shaping its possible future orientation. In the case of creativity, it is the endless discursive contact between the positive expansion of creative actions to its resistance within the negative space of dominant creative models.
25
For reverent lips make flutes out of mouths and - solely
for the warmth of their own swearing - ripple, heat-hazed,
onto the perceptibility of any true object-hood. They are
truant toward any consistent intent since the instant, in
the case of heat distortion, wobbles just enough to tease
out another parallel attention. Burial in the as of debris.
Woozy red bells tremble against their own image in the
pool below. Clappers as if modulated digitally within the
scored surface of a vinyl record. No longer is the attention
weighed on the athleticism of modulating the spin, but,
instead, the collectors, curators, and producers itemizing
a menagerie of the already acted on. In this sense the
clapper folds - damascus - out unto the increased density
of distended space.
26
Where contemporary aesthetic sense becomes preoccupied with severance, the artisanal craft thrives within a distortional form of reverence that can alleviate the sort of inertia accompanied by a seemingly infinite amount of relational nodes in an encounter within an object. An infinite severing that, as described above, can paradoxically reduce down to a single replicating sequence. Since aesthetic sense expands spatially, craft gravitationally fills the pores left by the expansion of creatively severed instants.
The dagger of Paul Atreides moving slowly through the blurred facets of polygonal-mesh that is the defense shield of his sparring partner; information can be brought back into glints.3 Just as the surface area of the pupil is reduced by the centripetal tightening of the iris in relation to the intensity of light, information can spread centrifugally out from the blind aperture of monadic reference.
27
Crackling bells ring double octaves in much the same
image/sound dialectic we perceive when hearing Tuvan
throat singing: the physiological tone of the human
airway sharing the emotive sound timelessly cherished
as singing. Image melds with sound. Information
restrains the quality of transformation just as truly as
it’s inverse.
Seen in that light, relics are not grotesque, but
beautiful. To those without faith, relics are reminders
of mortality. To those who truly believe, as St. Paul
says in the letter to the Romans, (Rm 10:9) that God
raised Jesus from the dead, the bones of the saints are
reminders of future resurrection, not of death.2
28
Craft’s opacity in turn develops from the transparency of its spatial stake, perpetuating new depressions in the field of aesthetic sense. A stagnation resulting from an excess of repetition that no longer supports the visual criterion of a replica. In more revering the same, the associative orientation maintaining properties that distinguish sameness distort under the load of mutual participants. A depression cradling the host centre as opposed to depressed ring shape developed by the motivation for an edge. An inverted mosquito bite formation versus an inverted ringworm formation. The former sunk in a willingness to unify under an ever-present pretext of an existing nominal. The latter leaving wave patterns - ringed and traceable - back to the original site of proliferation. The reverential huddled in the withdrawn hollow of its desired refrain. Craft labors in the shimmer

to break up reflective properties in its pocketing of amassed participation. The decorative, as a strategy, continually inserts a distance between finality and the arbitrary, so often found in monadically extensional modes of creativity.
The crystalline trees are hanging like icons in
those luminous caverns, the jeweled casements
of the leaves overhead, fused into a lattice of
prisms... the birds and crocodiles frozen into
grotesque postures like heraldic beasts carved
from jade and quartz.4

In the burial of the bell, all who muse fear the inevitable
music. A kick dowsing a shoe. A hand handing over
the handling of another. The record touched breaks
the bell. Wounder (00:01:33). As the pressure is
incrementally lessened we hear the bell come back
in octaves tending toward those often coming up
from below. The sudden and total withdrawal of
pressure snaps the sound to sounding as if now in
trees. Wounder (00:02:26). Bells begin to lap double.
Traces of bell as if banging against their echoes until
movements clog and - like Balla’s Dynamism of a
dog on a leash - become buried in their own beating.
What once moved out of malcontent now mired in a
melancholy of so much accumulated motion.

Before Dürer finished his etching Melancolia 1, he
confessed “what is beautiful I do not know”.5 The
pressure of the hand hands out an ability to infinitely
regress/progress qualifications of beauty. Difference
is heard, here, ringing out of the indifference of
modulating software. Wounder (00:04:52)
The standpoint of morality is the standpoint of the
will which is infinite not merely in itself but for
itself (see § 104). In contrast with the will’s implicit
being, with its immediacy and the determinate
characteristics developed within it at that level,
this reflection of the will into itself and its explicit
awareness of its identity makes the person into the
subject.6
