Diego Gruer nasce a Palmanova (UD) Italia nel dicembre 1979. Finiti gli studi, lavora nella ditta di famiglia assieme al padre artigiano nel settore del legno, parallelamente alla sua principale profes-sione di insegnante di Arti Marziali. Raggiunge i vertici del Karate internazionale vincendo decine di titoli tra cui quello di campione d’Italia e 1º clas-sificato alla coppa del mondo “Golden Dragon”.

Diego Gruer was born in Palmanova, Italy, in De-cember 1979. After completing his education, he began working side by side with his father, wood craftsman, at the family company and, at the same time, as a Martial Art teacher, his main profession. He reached the summits of the international Ka-rate winning many sporting titles as Italian Cham-pion and 1° classified at the world championship called “Golden Dragon”.

L’ARTISTA / THE ARTIST

Scrive inoltre un racconto dedicato ai suoi allievi “Oltre al Resto” (tradotto anche in inglese “Beyond The Rest”) pubblicato da edizioni SAMPLE, che rivela la sua voglia di andar oltre il senso comune, oltre la normalità che sopisce il sogno di ciascuno.

Ma è nel campo dell’artigianato MADE IN ITALY che l’artista dà massimo sfogo alla sua creatività. Dalle sue mani nascono diverse rappresentazioni che vanno dalla Natura, (a cui attraverso la minuz-iosa lavorazione a mano e l’accurata scelta delle singole venature del legno, restituisce la sua inimi-tabile espressione), a riproduzioni di stampe gi-apponesi (Japan Breath – Arte Marziale e cultura orientale sua insostituibile passione) e trasposizio-ni di foto personali (tema personalizzato).

The artist wrote also a story that has dedi-cated to his karate students entitled “Beyond The Rest” published by SAMPLE edition, that reveals the wish of going beyond the common sense, beyond the normality that soothes away everyone’s dream.

But it’s in the MADE IN ITALY craft field that the artist conveys his creativity. His hands give life to various representations of Nature, (in which the different kind of wood and the care-ful job of the craftsman’s hands, give back the inimitable expression of Nature), or of repro-ductions of Japanese printings (Japan Breath – Martial Art and its oriental culture, that is the irreplaceable passion of the artist), or of trans-positions of personal photos (personal theme).

La sua impronta artistica non si ferma alla fusione tecnica di intarsio e mosaico, ma personalizza in-oltre molte opere con frasi e poesie che rendono ancor più particolare ed unica l’opera stessa.

The stamp of the artist is not only the association of inlay and mosaic techniques, but he personal-izes also his handmade works with sentences and poems that make the works themselves much more specials and unique.

FOR LOVE

Orologio da muro artigianale realizzato ad intar-sio e mosaico con legno nobile di spessore 14mm. Il titolo rinchiude l’urlo indelebile che l’autore ha voluto dare al mondo in onore della figura rap-presentata: un esempio, una guida, un fratello, un uomo. Tutto questo fa gridare a Diego Gruer, “per sempre” perché mai sarà dimenticato. Il concetto di “per sempre” è il dovere unico a cui ogni singolo gesto della propria vita deve tendere.
