Materiale sempre più scelto per progetti edili e di arredo, il legno è costituito principalmente da cellulosa e lignina, sostanze caratterizzate da un alto contenuto di carbonio, che insieme all’idrogeno e ossigeno, sono responsabili del processo di combustione. Di ogni materiale combustibile può essere stabilita la specifica reazione al fuoco, ovvero il suo grado di partecipazione al fuoco a cui è sottoposto.

Da questo intento nasce la linea di vernici ignifughe ECL, che mira a rendere i luoghi pubblici più sicuri, ritardando l’innesco di incendio.

I prodotti della linea ECL presentano una comprovata capacità ignifuga, combinata con un’attenzione particolare alla valorizzazione dell’aspetto del legno a vista. La tecnologia di reazione e gli elevati standard estetici rendono i prodotti della linea ECL ideali per ogni tipologia di arredo in legno, entro i campi di applicazione previsti e dei requisiti richiesti da progettisti e applicatori.

Sulla base dei dati derivati da prove di reazione al fuoco eseguite in conformità alla norma europea EN 13501-parte 1, il prodotto verniciante ignifugo è classificato nell’EUROCLASSE B s1, d0.

La classificazione è valida per la protezione di tutti i supporti a base di legno, nelle condizioni d’impiego a parete o soffitto, come previsto dai criteri tecnici indicati nelle norme:

× EN 13823 Prove di reazione al fuoco per prodotti edilizi esposti a un attacco termico di un singolo elemento in combustione.

× EN ISO 11925 Prove di reazione al fuoco per prodotti edilizi – parte 2: innesco quando soggetto alla piccola fiamma.

Preserving environments and protecting the people that work and live in them is the goal that ICRO pursue when designing and developing innovative solutions for a wide range of applications and a high technological content. From this desire, we have created our line of ECL fire retardant coatings, which aims to make public places safer and delay the beginning of a fire.

The products in the ECL line have proven fire retardant ability, combined with a special focus on the beautification of visible wooden elements. The reaction technology and the aesthetic standards we apply make the ECL products line ideal for every kind of wooden furnishing, remaining within the requested fields of application and the requirements of designers and painters.

Based on the data derived from reaction to fire testing carried out conforming to the European standards EN 13501-part 1, the fire retardant product is classified as EUROCLASS B s1, d0.

The classification is valid for the protection of all of the supports based on wood, in the conditions of use as walling or for ceilings, as set out in the technical specifications of the regulations:

Thanks to our research and testing processes, ICRO can bring avant-garde technology to the marketplace. In fact, our ECL products decrease the reactivity of wooden elements to flame. After a correctly executed coating cycle, our product penetrates into the wooden surface ensuring, in case of fire, a marked reduction in the amount of oxygen coming into contact with the area affected.

Grazie alla ricerca e alla sperimentazione condotta, ICRO offre al mercato una tecnologia d’avanguardia. I prodotti ECL consentono infatti di ridurre la reazione al fuoco degli elementi in legno. PREPARAZIONE SUPPORTOAssicurarsi che il legno sia pulito e asciutto, esente da

macchie di resina, grassi o altre particelle inquinantie con umidità inferiore al 12%.

Alcune essenze ricche di sostanze grasse, come nel caso dell’iroko o del palissandro, possono causare

difetti. Per tali motivi si raccomanda di svolgere sempre dei test preliminari e/o di applicare uno strato di fondo

isolante poliuretanico.

oils or other polluting particles and with humidity of less than 12%. Some essences rich in fatty substances,

such as Iroko or Rosewood, can cause defects.To avoid this always carry out preliminary tests and/or

Per i prodotti e gli elementi da costruzione in legno - pavimenti esclusi - la norma europea che regolamenta la classificazione di reazione al fuoco è la UNI EN 13501-1, mentre la classe di reazione al fuoco è stabilita dalle seguenti norme:EN 13823:2014 - Prove di reazione al fuoco dei prodotti da costruzione - esclusi i pavimenti esposti a un attacco termico prodotto da un singolo oggetto in combustione.EN 11925-2: 2005 - Prove di reazione al fuoco - accendibilità dei prodotti sottoposti all’attacco diretto della fiamma. Seconda prova con l’impiego di una singola fiamma.I materiali vengono classificati secondo le Euroclassi: A1, A2, B, C, D, E, F. I materiali classificati A1 sono incombustibili e quelli certificati A2, B, C, D, E, F bruciano in ordine crescente. EN 11925-2: 2005 - Testing of reaction to fire for building materials - ignitability of products exposed to a direct attack by flame. According to test with use of a single flame.Materials are classified according to the Euroclasses: A1, A2, B, C, D, E, F. Materials classified as A1 are not combustible and those classified A2, B, C, D, E, F burn in ascending order. The European classification also allows for the verification of the fumes, dripping and of other parameters, which are inserted in the definition of the class of reaction to fire with abbreviations as follows:S: smoke – classified from 1 to 3D: drops – classified from 0 to 1 Even in the presence of European classification, in Italy, in the furnishing sector only, the Ministry of Interior also requires a national homologation according to the law D.M. 6 march 92. Coating products tested as specified are effective only if applied following the regulations set out by the standard UNI 9796.For use on walls or ceilings in activities subject to fire prevention, building materials must comply with the requisites of reaction to fire according to the European classification.
