C’è qualcosa di magico. Nei luoghi: naturali, fiabeschi, ci-clistici. Nella corsa: avventurosa, originale, unica. Nelle strade: antiche, contadine, bianche. Le Strade Bianche è una delle corse più amate dai corridori: sposa la storia con la geografia, collega l’eroismo con la tecnologia, esalta il sacrificio e l’abilità, sovrappone lo spettacolo all’agonismo. Una corsa che è sport e spot, pellegrinaggio e processione, gara e guerra. In un territorio che sa di torri e campanili, di villaggi e contrade, da una ventina d’anni anche di forcelle e pedivelle, di acciaio e carbonio.Stavolta le Strade Bianche si moltiplicano per due. La corsa dei professionisti, e se l’ultimo vincitore è il polacco Michal Kwiatkowski, che neppure sei mesi più tardi avrebbe con-quistato il titolo di campione del mondo, una sottile linea – nata bianca e diventata iridata – ci sarà. La partenza da San Gimignano e l’arrivo a Siena, a unire due patrimoni dell’u-manità. E poi quei tratti di carrarecce, terrose, polverose o fangose a seconda del tempo, ormai esclusive.Quindi la corsa delle donne. Cercata, voluta, desiderata. Più breve e più cavalleresca di quella maschile, ma con lo stesso spirito e la stessa originalità. Un modo, il migliore, per dimostrare come il ciclismo femminile sappia essere entusiasmante, come la maniera più semplice sia abbina-re le corse delle donne a quelle degli uomini come – per esempio – già alla Freccia Vallone, come la passione del pedalare non abbia confini e la sua febbre non contempli limiti. E basta andare sulle strade, non solo quelle bianche, e non solo quelle italiane, per averne la certezza.

The Strade Bianche is one of the best-loved races for riders, combining history and geo-graphy, blending bravery and technology, celebrating sa-crifice and skills. A race where entertainment, performan-ce and competitiveness come together. A race that is both a sport and a spot, a pilgrimage and a parade, a competition and a combat across a territory that is traditionally made of belfries and bell towers, villages and contrade, that has opened to forks and pedals, carbon and steel in the last twenty years or so.Now, the Strade Bianche becomes two. One: the Pro race, with last year’s winner – the young Pole Michal Kwia-tkowski – going from white roads to the rainbow jersey in less than 6 months. A race that starts from San Gimignano and finishes in Siena, joining two Human Heritage sites. A race with its trademark unpaved roads, covered in either dirt, dust or mud depending on the weather.Two: the women’s race, greatly longed for and dreamt of. Shorter and gentler than the men’s race, yet equally da-ring, passionate and original. A way (the best way, indeed) to demonstrate that women’s cycling can excite and invol-ve, to show it is easiest to combine men’s and women’s ra-ces – as it is the case for La Flèche Wallonne – and to prove that the passion and the fever for cycling have no limits and no borders. To be quite sure, just take a look at the road – not just at white roads, not just in Italy.

Percorso molto mosso e ondulato sia sul piano pla-

nimetrico che altimetrico, privo di lunghe salite, ma costel-

lato di strappi più o meno ripidi. Sono presenti circa 17 km

di strade sterrate divise in 5 settori con fondo ben tenuto,

ben battuto, privo di incursioni erbose e con scarso brec-

ciolino sulla superficie, il primo e gli ultimi due sono comu-

ni alla gara maschile.

Partenza da San Gimignano. Primi 33 km ondulati su asfal-

to per raggiungere il primo segmento sterrato (2,2 km).

Segue la separazione dal percorso dei professionisti nei

successivi 24 km in asfalto prima di affrontare il punto

clou della corsa: il secondo segmento (9,5 km) in mezzo

alle crete senesi. Un settore sterrato di lunghezza notevole

con un susseguirsi di leggeri saliscendi nella prima parte

per concludersi con una scalata a curvoni per immetter-

si nuovamente nell’asfalto. A breve distanza si attacca e

supera il terzo settore sterrato (2,2 km) che immette di-

rettamente nel percorso maschile a 20 km all’arrivo, poco

dopo Vico d’Arbia. Si affronta quindi il penultimo settore

(di 2,4 km) sulla strada in salita di Colle Pinzuto (pendenze

fino al 15%). Pochi chilometri dopo è posto l’ultimo trat-

to sterrato (di 1,1 km) con una sequenza di discesa secca

seguita dal una ripida risalita (max 18%) che si conclude

alle Tolfe. Al termine restano poco più di 12 km all’arrivo a

Siena nel Campo.

The route offers a mostly varied and wavy landscape,

both in terms of course and profile, with no extended climbs,

but a series of more or less steep spurts. The route features

about 17 km of unpaved road over 5 different segments, with

a roadbed in good conditions, well-packed ground with no

grass invasion, and a little gravel on the surface. The first

dirt-road sector, as well as the last two, are the same as in

the men’s race.

The race starts from San Gimignano. The first 33 km on

wavy, asphalted terrain lead to the first dirt-road segment

(2.2 km). Here, and for the following 24 km, the race course

diverts from the Pro route, before tackling the highlight of

the race, the second sector (9.5 km) in the unique scenery of

the Crete Senesi hills. A very long dirt-road sector, marked

by gentle up and downs in the first part, and ending with a

long, curving climb leading back to paved road. Shortly after,

the course tackles the third unpaved sector (2.2 km), leading

back onto the men’s route just past Vico d’Arbia, with 20 km

remaining to the finish. We then move on to the second last

segment (2.4 km) on the steep Colle Pinzuto climb (with gra-

dients reaching as high as 15%). After a few kilometres, we

meet the last dirt-road segment (1.1 km), marked by a quick

descent and followed by a steep climb (max gradient: 18%),

ending in Le Tolfe. At the end, the distance to the finish in

Siena, in Piazza il Campo, is a little more than 12 km.

Gli ultimi km si snodano per la prima parte all’esterno dell’abitato di Siena su strade larghe e lunghi rettifili col-legati tra loro da ampie curve, prima in discesa e poi in leggera salita fino ai 2 km dall’arrivo, dove viene imboc-cata la via Esterna di Fontebranda con pendenze fino al 9%. A 900 m dall’arrivo si supera la Porta di Fontebranda e inizia la pavimentazione lastricata. La pendenza supera il 10% fino a raggiungere, attorno ai 500 m dall’arrivo, in via Santa Caterina, punte del 16%. Segue una svolta de-cisa a destra nella via delle Terme e l’immissione in via Banchi di Sotto. Dai 300 m la strada è sempre in leggera discesa. Ai 150 m svolta a destra in via Rinaldini. Ai 70 m si entra nel Campo, ultimi 30 in discesa al 7%, traguardo pianeggiante.

For the first part, the last kilometres follow the outskirts of the city of Siena, along wide, long and straight roads connecting by means of large curves, running initially downhill, and fur-ther on slightly uphill, up to 2 km from the finish, where the route takes via Esterna di Fontebranda, which features slants up to 9%. The stone pavement begins 900 m before the finish line, after passing the Porta di Fontebranda. The gradient is over 10%, reaching peaks of as high as 16% in via Santa Cate-rina, around 500 m from the finish. Further on, a sharp bend to the right in via Delle Terme leads to via Banchi di Sotto. From 300 m to the finish onwards, the road is a slight, conti-nuous descent. With 150 m to go, the route turns right into via Rinaldini. The race course enters Piazza il Campo 70 m before the finish; the last 30 m are on a 7% gradient descent, while the finish line is on level road.

(ART. 1) – OrganizzazioneLa RCS Sport S.p.A. con sede in via Rizzoli, 8 – 20132 Milano, tel. 02.2584.8764/8765, fax 02.29009684, e-mail: ciclismo.rcs-sport@rcs.it, sito internet: www.stra-de-bianche.it, nella persona del respon-sabile ciclismo Mauro Vegni, indice e organizza per sabato 7 marzo 2015 la 1a edizione della “STRADE BIANCHE WOMEN ELITE” secondo i regolamenti della Unione Ciclistica Internazionale.

(ART. 2) – Tipo di corsaLa corsa è riservata ad atlete di categoria Women Elite ed è iscritta nel calendario internazionale UCI.La gara di classe 1.1, conformemente all’art. UCI 2.12.009 attribuisce i seguenti punti:1° p.80 - 2° p.60 - 3° p.45 - 4° p.35 - 5° p.30 - 6° p.25 - 7° p.21 - 8° p.18 - 9° p.15- 10° p.12 - 11° p.10 - 12° p.8 - 13° p.6 - 14° p.5 - 15° p.4 - 16° p.3 - 17° p.2 - 18° p.1

(ART. 3) – PartecipazioneConformemente all’art. UCI 2.1.005, la corsa è ad invito per le seguenti squadre: UCI Women Teams, National Teams, Club Teams , con le modalità indicate dall’ art. UCI 2.01.007 bis.Il numero stabilito di partecipazione per squadra è di 6 atlete, art. UCI 2.2.003L’Organizzatore, al fine di salvaguardare l’immagine e la reputazione della propria gara, si riserva il diritto di rifiutare, fino al momento della partenza, le atlete o i Gruppi Sportivi che con i propri atti o di-chiarazioni dimostrassero di venire meno ai principi di lealtà sportiva agli impegni

assunti e previsti dal paragrafo 1.1.023 del regolamento UCI.Inoltre, nel caso che le atlete o il Gruppo Sportivo venissero meno, nel corso della manifestazione, ai principi di cui al pre-cedente capoverso, l’Ente Organizzatore si riserva anche il diritto di escluderle dalla corsa in qualsiasi momento.

(ART. 4) – QuartiertappaLe operazioni preliminari, la verifica li-cenze e la distribuzione dei dorsali di gara si svolgeranno venerdì 6 marzo 2015 dalle ore 13.00 alle ore 14.45 presso “CAMPING BOSCHETTO DI PIEMMA” loc. Santa Lucia 38/c a San Gimignano (SI).Alle ore 15.00 seguirà la riunione con i Direttori Sportivi, la Direzione di Orga-nizzazione e il Collegio dei Commissari, secondo l’art. UCI 1.2.087.

(ART. 5) – RadioinformazioniLe informazioni in corsa sono diffuse sul-la frequenza CBI canale 33.

(ART. 6) – Preliminari di partenzaAl podio del foglio di firma le partecipanti dovranno presentarsi in squadra, secon-do un ordine prestabilito, (art. 2.3.009 UCI). In prossimità della stessa area si raduneranno per il trasferimento in gruppo verso il km 0.

(ART. 7) – Assistenza tecnica Il servizio d’assistenza tecnica è assicu-rato da Selle Italia – Team Casolari con 3 vetture.

(ART. 8) – Rifornimento Il rifornimento fisso previsto tra il km 53 e il km 56 presso Monteroni d’Arbia - ss.2 è indicato con appositi simboli in plani-metria, in tabella chilometrica e segna-lato da appositi pannelli lungo il percorso di gara.

Sarà inoltre delimitata una zona defini-ta “Area Verde” presidiata da personale dedicato prima e dopo la zona di riforni-mento e per 200 m quando mancano 20 km all’arrivo.Si invitano le atlete e tutto il seguito al ri-spetto dell’ambiente in particolare modo ai tratti “Strade Bianche”, patrimonio cultu-rale e naturalistico.

(ART. 9) – Passaggi a livelloI passaggi a livello ai km 52,6 e km 75,4 sono indicati in tabella chilometrica e segnalati lungo il percorso di gara da ap-positi pannelli a “1 km PL”. Nell’eventua-lità di chiusura si applicheranno gli art. 2.3.034 e 2.3.035 UCI.

(ART. 10) – Tempo massimoLe concorrenti con distacco superiore all’ 8% del tempo della vincitrice saranno considerate fuori tempo massimo.Per la sicurezza delle partecipanti e in applicazione alle autorizzazioni di ordi-nanza in merito alla sospensione della circolazione, la Direzione di Organizza-zione disporrà il ritiro delle stesse qua-lora si trovassero in ritardo di circa 15 minuti.

(ART. 11) – Servizio sanitario Il servizio sanitario, designato dalla Di-rezione, è diretto da personale medico e paramedico in numero adeguato; è ope-rativo durante lo svolgimento della cor-sa ed è anche a disposizione prima della partenza e dopo l’arrivo. All’occorrenza i medici sono gli unici responsabili del tra-sporto delle partecipanti presso i presidi ospedalieri, indicati nella Guida Tecnica.In corsa, le cure mediche di particolare impegno o durante le salite, dovranno essere prestate da fermo.

(ART. 12) – PremiI premi della gara corrispondono al mas-simale stabilito dalla U.C.I. – F.C.I.:

(ART. 13) – Controllo Anti-DopingIl controllo Anti-Doping sarà effettua-to presso lo Studio mobile in prossimità dell’area d’arrivo conformemente al re-golamento UCI e alle norme vigenti della legge Italiana.

(ART. 14) – DocceDocce/Spogliatoi saranno a disposizio-ne delle partecipanti a partire dalle ore 10:30 presso lo Stadio Comunale “Arte-mio Franchi” - Viale XXV Aprile.

(ART. 15) – CerimonialeSecondo l’art. UCI 1.2.112 le prime tre classificate della prova devono presen-tarsi al cerimoniale entro 10 minuti dal

loro arrivo. La vincitrice della gara deve presentarsi in Sala Stampa presso la Fondazione Monte dei Paschi di Siena, Banchi di sotto, 34.

(ART. 16) – SanzioniLe infrazioni sono sanzionate secondo la “tabella sanzioni”, art. UCI 12.1.040.

(ART. 17) – Disposizioni generaliPossono seguire la corsa solo le persone denunciate all’atto del ritiro dei contras-segni dal titolare del rispettivo automez-zo. Eventuali modifiche o aggiunte devono essere notificate al Direttore dell’Orga-nizzazione. I conducenti delle auto e del-le moto accreditate devono rispettare le norme del Codice della Strada e devono altresì sottostare alle disposizioni del Di-rettore dell’Organizzazione e dei suoi col-laboratori. Non possono seguire la corsa persone che non vi abbiano funzioni ri-conosciute dagli organizzatori e inerenti ai vari servizi, né persone di minore età. Nessuna responsabilità di nessuna na-tura fa capo all’Ente organizzatore per i danni derivati da incidenti prima, durante e dopo la corsa a spettatori e persone in genere, anche se estranee alla manife-stazione stessa, in dipendenza di azioni non messe in atto dall’organizzazione medesima. Per quanto non contemplato nel presente regolamento valgono i rego-lamenti UCI, FCI.

(ART. 1) – OrganizationRCS Sport S.p.A., based in via Riz-zoli, 8 – 20132 Milan, phone: (+39) 02.2584.8764/8765, fax: (+39) 02.29009684, e-mail: ciclismo.rcssport@rcs.it, website: www.strade-bianche.it, in the person of Mauro Vegni, Director of Cycling, announ-ces and organizes the 1st edition of the “STRADE BIANCHE WOMEN ELITE”, ac-cording to the International Cycling Union (UCI) regulations on Saturday, March 7, 2015.

(ART. 2) – Type of RaceThe race, registered on the UCI internatio-nal calendar, is reserved to riders belon-ging to the Women Elite category.The race falls in the 1.1 class and, in com-pliance with UCI article 2.12.009, the points to be attributed are as follows:1st placed: 80 points – 2nd placed: 60 poin-ts – 3rd placed: 45 points – 4th placed: 35 points - 5th placed: 30 points - 6th placed: 25 points - 7th placed: 21 points - 8th placed: 18 points - 9th placed: 15 points - 10th pla-ced: 12 points - 11th placed: 10 points - 12th placed: 8 points - 13th placed: 6 points - 14th placed: 5 points - 15th placed: 4 points - 16th placed: 3 points - 17th placed: 2 points - 18th placed: 1 point

(ART. 3) – ParticipationIn compliance with the provisions of Article 2.1.005 of the UCI Regulations, the race is reserved, by invitation, to UCI Women Te-ams, National Teams, Club Teams, with the modalities indicated in Article UCI 2.01.007 bis of the UCI Regulations.According to Article 2.2.003 of the UCI Re-gulations, the number of riders per team has been set in 6 (six).The Organizer, to the purpose of safeguar-

ding the image and reputation of its own race, reserves the right to refuse, up to the starting time, any rider or Team who – by their acts or declarations – would prove to have failed to keep the principles of sport fair play and the commitments undertaken and set forth in paragraph 1.1.023 of the UCI Regulations.Moreover, should any rider or Team fail to comply with the principles set out in the foregoing paragraph during the race, the Organization shall also reserve the right to exclude them form the race at any time.

(ART. 4) – Race HeadquartersThe preliminary operations, license veri-fication and back number collection shall take place on the premises of CAMPING BOSCHETTO DI PIEMMA, loc. Santa Lucia 38/c in San Gimignano (Siena), on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 1:00 pm to 2:45 pm.The meeting with the Sports Directors, the Organization Management and the Com-missaires Panel, organized according to the provisions of Article 1.2.087 of the UCI Regulations, shall take place at 3:00 pm.

(ART. 5) – Radio InformationRace news is broadcasted on CBI frequency channel 33.

(ART. 6) – Preliminary Operations at the StartAll the riders of a team shall turn up at the Signature Podium together, in a pre-e-stablished order (art. 2.3.009 of the UCI regulations). Riders shall gather in that same area for the group transfer towards the actual start place.

(ART. 7) – Technical AssistanceThe technical assistance services are en-

sured by Selle Italia – Team Casolari with 3 servicing cars.

(ART. 8) – Refreshments The fixed Feed Zone will be set up between km 53 and km 56 in Monteroni d’Arbia - ss. 2; it is indicated with the relevant symbols in the race profile and time schedule, and shall be signposted along the race route.

Moreover, the organization will set up a so-called “Green Area”, managed by de-dicated personnel, and located before and after the Feed Zone, and stretching over 200 meters with 20 km remaining to the finish.All the riders and the race suite are invited to behave respectfully toward the environ-ment and, more specifically, toward the “Dirt Road” sectors, which are a cultural and natural heritage.

(ART. 9) – Level CrossingsThe level crossings at km 52.6 and km 75.4 are marked in the time schedule and si-gnposted along the race route by relevant road signs indicating “1 km PL”. Should the level crossing be closed, Articles 2.3.034 and 2.3.035 of the UCI Regulations shall apply.

(ART. 10) – Finishing Time LimitAny rider finishing in a time exceeding that of the winner by 8% shall not be placed.In order to guarantee riders’ safety, and by enforcement of traffic interruption de-crees, the Organization Management shall require that any rider lagging about 15 mi-nutes behind is withdrawn from the race.

(ART. 11) – Medical Care Medical care shall be administered by an adequate number of Doctors and Parame-dics designated by the Race Management, during the race and as well as before the race and after the last rider has crossed the finish line. If need be, Doctors are the sole persons responsible for transporting riders to the hospitals listed in the Tech-nical Guide. In case of any major treatment or treat-ment on hill-climbs, the Race Doctors shall stop to administer the treatment.

(ART. 12) – PrizesThe race shall award the following prizes:

(ART. 13) – Anti-Doping ControlAnti-doping control will take place at the mobile unit in the finish area, according to the UCI Regulations in force and to the re-levant applicable provisions of Italian law.

(ART. 14) – ShowersShowers and changing rooms will be pro-vided to the athletes as of 10:30 am at the Stadio Comunale “Artemio Franchi” - Viale XXV Aprile.

(ART. 15) – Awards CeremonyAccording to Article 1.2.112 of the UCI Regulations, the first three best-placed riders shall attend the awards ceremony

no later than 10 minutes after crossing the finish line. The winner shall turn up at the Press Conference Room on the premises of Fondazione Monte dei Paschi di Siena, Banchi di Sotto, 34.

(ART. 16) – SanctionsAll infringements shall be sanctioned ac-cording to the “sanctions table” referred to in Article 12.1.040 of the UCI Regulations.

(ART. 17) – General ProvisionsOnly persons identified upon collection of the identification badge by the owner of the authorized vehicle are entitled to fol-low the race. Possible changes or addi-tions shall be notified to the Organization Director. Drivers of cars and motorbikes with regular accreditation shall comply with the provisions set forth by the Rules of the Road and shall furthermore comply with the rules set out by the Organization Director and his Officials. Persons who are not recognized as having roles acknowled-ged by the organizers and services-related functions, as well as under-age persons, are not allowed to follow the race. The Or-ganization shall not be held liable in any way whatsoever for damages arising from accidents occurred prior, during or after the race, depending from actions not ascri-bable to the same organization, to persons in general, even if unrelated with the race.For all that is not regulated under this ruling, the UCI and FCI regulations shall apply.
