Gentili Ospiti,sono lieto di porgere il benvenuto a nome della Regione Sardegna e della Commissione delle Isole per questa importante Assemblea che vedrà presenti i rappresentanti delle Regioni insulari europee con i quali intercorrono rapporti di collaborazione e cooperazione, tesi a migliorare e rafforzare le politiche economiche volte alla concreta attuazione della politica di coesione territoriale e al pieno ed effettivo riconoscimento dell’insularità.Come Presidente della Commissione delle Isole della Conferenza delle Regioni Periferiche e Marittime (CRPM) e della Commissione Ambiente, Cambiamenti Climatici ed Energia (ENVE) del Comitato delle Regioni, ho l’onore di rappresentare la Sardegna nelle istituzioni europee dove stiamo portando avanti l’importante compito di consolidare rapporti, sinergie e partenariati, per costruire una strategia macroregionale del Mediterraneo che esprima gli interessi comuni delle regioni mediterranee ed europee.Quest’incontro rappresenta l’occasione per affrontare una serie di questioni importanti inerenti lo sviluppo delle Isole in un contesto economico, sociale e politico difficile, soprattutto alla luce dei negoziati sulla politica di coesione 2014-2020, al fine di poter ottenere il riconoscimento della situazione di svantaggio permanente derivante dalla condizione di insularità nelle competenti sedi istituzionali. Auspico un ottimo lavoro e una permanenza a Cagliari che faccia conoscere ed apprezzare a tutti gli ospiti le nostre bellezze naturali e la calorosa ospitalità dei sardi.

Mesdames et Messieurs,Je suis heureux de vous adresser la bienvenue, au nom de la Région Sardaigne et de la Commission des Îles, à l’occasion de cette importante Assemblée, à laquelle participent les représentants des Régions Insulaires Européennes, avec lesquelles nous entretenons depuis de nombreuses années d’étroites relations de collaboration et de coopération, visant à améliorer et renforcer les politiques économiques pour la mise en œuvre concrète de la politique de cohésion territoriale et pour la reconnaissance complète et effective de l'insularité.En ma qualité de Président de la Commission des Îles de la Conférence des Régions Périphériques Maritimes (CRPM) et de ma Commission de l'Environnement, du Changement Climatique et de l'Energie (ENVE) du Comité des Régions, j'ai l'honneur de représenter la Sardaigne au sein des institutions européennes, où nous avons la tâche importante de faire progresser le renforcement des relations, des synergies et des partenariats, afin de lancer une stratégie macro-régionale en Méditerranée qui représente les intérêts communs des Régions méditerranéennes et européennes.Cette réunion sera l'occasion d'aborder un certain nombre de questions importantes liées au développement des îles dans un contexte économique, social et politique difficile, en particulier face aux négociations sur la politique de cohésion 2014-2020, pour obtenir la reconnaissance des handicaps permanents de l'insularité par les institutions concernées.Je vous souhaite une réunion de travail efficace et un agréable séjour à Cagliari qui vous permettra de connaître et d’apprécier nos beautés naturelles et la chaleureuse hospitalité du peuple sarde.

Dear Guests,I am pleased to welcome you, on behalf of the Region of Sardinia and the Islands Commission, to this important Assembly, which will see the participation of representatives from European Island Regions, with whom we currently collaborate and cooperate, with the purpose of strengthening and improving choices of economical policies for the implementation of territorial Cohesion Policy and for the complete and effective recognition of insularity.As President of the Islands Commission of the CPMR (Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions of Europe), and of the Commission on Environment, Climate Change and Energy (ENVE) of the Committee of the Regions, I have the honour to represent Sardinia within European Institutions where we have the important duty of consolidating relationships, synergies and partnerships, in order to build a Mediterranean macro-regional strategy, which will express the common interests of Mediterranean and European regions.This meeting is the occasion to tackle a series of important events regarding the development of the islands in a difficult economic, social and political context, an especially important opportunity in light of negotiations regarding Cohesion Policy 2014-2020, in order to obtain official recognition by the competent institutions of the permanently disadvantageous situation consequential to insularity. I wish everyone successful work and an excellent stay, here in Cagliari, which will provide each and every one of our guests with the experience of our natural wonders and the warm hospitality of the Sardinian people.
