The Owner Sauro Grimaldi

The current owner and general manager of Grimaldi Costruzioni Srl is Sauro Grimaldi. Born in Matelica, married with two sons, lives in Matelica, works in Le Marche and other regions of Italy .

In 1975 he qualified as a Surveyor from the Camerino School of Surveyors and in 1981 obtained his degree in Architecture from the University of Florence, Italy.

In 1982 he took control of Grimaldi Costruzioni from his father IvoGrimaldi.

History of Grimaldi Costruzioni Srl

The current company Grimaldi Costruzioni S.r.l was originally founded in 1959 as Grimaldi Ivo. Ivo Grimaldi was a master restorer and father to Sauro Grimadi. In 1968 the company was inserted in the National Register of Public Restorers.

In 1978 the company’s name changed to Grimi S.r.l with new policies and directions aiming to construct in a wider market: Public and Private works, Residential building contracts, Public and Private restorations.

In 1982 a new company called Grimaldi was formed to stand alone side Grimi S.r.h SauroGrimaldi directing operations. This new company was also inserted into the National Register of Constructors and inserted into the Provincial Registers of Industrialists.

In 2002 Grimaldi snc was transformed into Grimaldi S.r.l under the management of Sauro Grimaldi to conduct restorations, public and private building and public works. The present day company employs highly qualified administrative and technical staff and workforce specialised in quality workmanship.

Complete restoration of a dwelling situated above the Fracassi Caves in the hills above Matelica and Fabriano.

The dwelling was demolished and all the original stone saved, cleaned and reused in the new construction.

Modern building techniques were adopted to meet current building regulations but allied to traditional Marchigiana and local features.

Current regulations were meet using the original stone and modern materials to guarantee seismic, noise and insulation laws.

Construction maintains the historical and original look of the dwelling.

Local artesian suppliers were employed for the windows, doors, and other specialist features.

This ruin and its outbuildings were the homes of farm workers on the Bisci estate in Matelica.

All the original stonework was recovered, cleaned and reused in the costruction of the new dwelling.

The varying levels were expoilted to present a modern aspect but with the old look.

This farmhouse resort called ”Il Colle del Sole” was extracted from a rural nineteenth century dwelling and restored to its original beauty. Situated at the feet of Monte San Vicino with views of the city of Matelica.

This development was constructed using all the original stone from the demolished dwelling.

Local artisans were employed for the masonry work outside and inside the property.

The manufacture of doors and windows was done by local artisan firms.
