u LA FILOSOFIA PROGETTUALE DELL’O-CEA NEMO 44 RACCONTATA DA ALDO MAN-NA, amministratore delegato e Ceo di MC Yacht & Co. International. «L’esperienza ventennale che ho accumulato nel settore dei grandi yacht mi ha recentemente portato a una riflessione: gli arma-tori di unità oltre i 30-35 metri vivono la loro barca come fossero a bordo di un grande hotel, mas-simo comfort e relax quindi, spesso al limite del-la noia. Anche in rada, per assurdo, può capitare che manchi il contatto diretto con il mare e la possibilità di divertirsi con tutte quelle attività che portano ad amare l’acqua. Succede non di frequente che venga-no a mancare le occa-sioni per combinare il lusso della navigazione “a cinque stelle” con il divertimento che offre la vita sul mare. Così, partendo da questa considera-zione, è germogliata l’idea di creare un prodotto che racchiudesse tutte le comodità di una grande unità da diporto con le amenities e le possibilità di svago di cui si può godere sull’acqua. Perché non dare all’armatore che arriva in una splendida rada la possibilità di usare un super-tender cabinato per passare anche più di un giorno a esplorare le coste circostanti? Oppure perché privarsi del divertimento di veleggiare a bordo di un perfor-

mante day-cruiser a vela in una baia ventosa? O ancora, di una battuta di pesca a traina con uno sport fisherman veloce, attrezzato per trascorrere la notte in mare aperto? Ocea Nemo 44 nasce quindi dalla volontà di ri-spondere a queste esigenze per creare un’inno-vativa categoria di super yacht, presa ‘a presti-to’ dal settore dell’automotive: uno Sport Utility Yacht. Esattamente come avviene nel caso de-gli autoveicoli, si è pensato ad uno yacht che of-

fra all’armatore la pos-sibilità di usufruire della propria barca in modo “integrale”, utilizzando-la sempre nel massimo comfort e contempora-neamente senza porre limitazioni alle svariate

possibilità che la vita di mare offre. Poter colti-vare le passioni, proprie o quelle degli ospiti, è la chiave per permettere a un armatore di tornare ad avere un rapporto nuovo con il mare, più di-vertente e condiviso. In questo senso abbiamo deciso che il progetto Nemo non si può esau-rire con questo modello. Sono in fase di defini-zione, infatti, altre declinazioni dell’Ocea Nemo, con dimensioni dai 38 ai 65 metri. tornare a vivere il mare in tutte le sue opportuni-tà di svago».Secondo in designer Fulvio De Simoni «La ne-cessità, dati gli input, era di dotare Ocea Nemo 44 di alcune aree dedicate ad ospitare i water toys e tutte le dotazioni necessarie per i momen-ti di relax e divertimento. Il nuovo Ocea Nemo 44 quindi, è stato concepito e progettato così da ospitare a bordo un garage a tutto baglio al gal-leggiamento, in cui trovano spazio un super ten-der di 8 metri (il più grande tender armatoriale su un 44 metri), che si presta sia ai trasferimenti a terra sia ad essere utilizzato come day-cruiser; un tender equipaggio di 5 metri, un wave-runner, un jet-ski e, per finire, una serie di giochi planan-ti indispensabili nelle belle giornate alla fonda. Sul raised-deck invece possono stazionare con-temporaneamente uno sportfisherman capace di portare a 40 nodi l’armatore e i suoi ospiti ovun-que il campo di pesca lo richieda, una vera e pro-pria barca a vela o, in alternativa, un batiscafo ca-pace d’immersioni a grandi profondità.Per quanto riguarda il layout degli spazi esterni, abbiamo voluto offrire le massime opportunità di godersi la vita a bordo, a cominciare dal beach-club di poppa di oltre 25 mq, passando per l’up-per-deck che, in aggiunta a beach-club e raised deck, porta lo spazio godibile all’aperto alla rag-guardevole superficie di 300 mq. Sull’upper deck, a richiesta, può essere allestita un’eventuale pi-scina d’acqua dolce/salata di oltre 20 mq, mentre

sul main deck una “veranda” di oltre 30 mq, ario-sa e riservata, unica nel suo genere, è raggiungi-bile con soli 5 gradini, sia dal raised che dall’up-per-deck.I generosi volumi e gli spazi di stivaggio consen-tono inoltre di avere a bordo una deriva, un moth, una consistente quantità di natanti quali sup, ca-noe, kite-board, Seabob, Jet-board e tutti gli over the railing che l’armatore riesce ad immaginare (scivoli, piscine in mare, climbing walls, etc).Una delle peculiarità più interessanti e, ancora una volta, unica nel suo genere di Nemo, è quella di avere fatto scomparire la classica scala esterna di collegamento dei ponti. Questa soluzione, gra-zie all’armoniosa integrazione del raised deck, of-fre anche una percezione degli spazi e dei volumi di poppa senza soluzione di continuità. L’aspetto più intrigante di questa prerogativa è che l’abbia-mo ottenuta grazie allo sviluppo degli spazi e dei volumi necessari ad accogliere la sorprendente quantità di amenities. Quando la funzione riesce ad esaltare la forma!».

INTERNATIONAL, tells what’s behind Ocea Nemo 44 Project. «More than 20 years spent dealing with yachts, brought me re-cently to following conclusions: owners of 30-35 meter vessels, are living their boats as luxury ho-tels, pampered with all comforts, nevertheless so-mehow slightly bored, the way they stay onboard.

Even when they drop anchor in a beautiful bay, they often perceive the lack of contact with sea and few chances of spending time, doing all tho-se activities which made them loving yachts.Ra-ther than seldom, they can’t match the “five stars” luxury, they feel when sailing, with the entertaining of life on the sea, when destinations are reached. Therefore I imagined to conceive a boat capable to offer all those superyacht coziness, combined with an extensive range of amenities and the very best in terms of good life on the water. The goal

Fulvio De Simoni, Architect and Designer of new Ocea Nemo 44, said: «The demand on gi-ven inputs, was providing Ocea Nemo 44 with dedicated areas, for all kind of water-toys and equipment needed for relaxing and fun. There-fore, Ocea Nemo 44 has been conceived and designed, in order to outfit a full beam water-line garage, where an up to 8 metres length super-tender can be stowed (the biggest tender on a 44 metres length yacht), able to commute guests from boat to harbour, which can be used as a day-cruiser either, together with a 5 metres crew-

tender, a wakeboard runabout, wave-runners and an extensive selection of water toys, which are a must-have during sunny days on anchor. On the raised-deck you can have in the mean-time a 40 knots-speed Walk-around, a sailing Day-Cruiser, or a deep-sea Submarine. As far as outdoor layouts, we aimed to offer the best in terms of good life on board, starting from a 25 square meter Beach-Club which, together with above mentioned raised and upper decks, bring

Ocea Nemo 44, aims to fulfil the growing demand of a brand-new superyacht class, that can be compared to SUVs and has been combined into “Sport Utili-ty Yacht” concept; in other words an all-around seafarer boat, able to sail in deep waters with comforts and luxury, but still in extensive and close touch with water and sea-life. We wished ow-ners and their guests, enjoying what they love most when on the water and that’s the key to bring them back to a close and genuine connection with the sea, sharing real good time.Due to all of these peculiarities, project Ocea Nemo will not be just the 44 metres. We’re already working on a project range, from 38 up to 65 metres length. Every single model, will have the same DNA: “We are willing to set free yacht owners from the static feeling of a rigid luxury flo-ating hotel and get them back living the sea with leisure and real fun».

A distinctive feature of this project and, quite un-common on superyachts, is we managed to re-duce dramatically big stairs for connecting decks. The final layout, thanks to smooth insertion of the raised deck, contributed in the perceiving of a stern seamlessly area and volumes. And one of the most intriguing aspects is we achieved a well balance design, thanks to volumes we needed for stowing this huge number of amenities.When the Function enhances Style!».
