Your kitchen is a perfect piece of equipment and amajor investment. You’ll use it at least three timesa day for many years, so, in order to make it lastand continue to perform well, try to use it correctlyand follow a few essential rules. Smoke and steamare enemies to any kitchen. They generate humid-ity, that can cause damage over time (mould, edgescoming off, and so on). To prevent these problems, turn on the hood whenever you cook, so it will keepworking well and have the best suction perform-ance over time. Do not leave the sink and work tops, even those made of steel, wet. Remove the skirtingboards to clean the area between the floor and thefurnishings at regular intervals. If water seeps innear the sink, contact the retailer from which youbought your kitchen, immediately. Your kitchen iseasy to keep clean with PPeeddiinnii mmiiccrrooffiibbrree ccllootthhincluded in the SSAANNAACCLLEEAANN BBOOXX. For use referto the instructions provided on the pack. Never usethe steam to clean your kitchen.

Light exposure causescolours to alter slightly overtime, on all the doors or var-nished surfaces, even iftreated with acrylic paints.Since this is a natural ageingprocess, it cannot give rise to any claims. Just remem-ber that the colours of anyfurniture that you may buy at

a later date could look different from the older kitchenfurniture, but will tend to look the same with time. When adding some new part later, you should alwayssend the front that our company always providesalong with the kitchen, as a colour sample.

11

Since wood is a natural ma-terial, its colour and texturecan look slightly uneven;this is not a fault, but a valu-able feature, so it cannot begive rise to any claims. Thecolour of wooden as well asvarnished doors can alsolook slightly different overtime due to light exposure.

The colour of any part that should be added latercould look slightly different, though it will tend tolook the same with time. Do not expose yourwooden kitchen to direct sunlight.

Since our kitchens are madeof high-quality materials(Class-E1 IDRO V 100 andedges glued with hygroreac-tive polyurethane thermoad-hesives), they do need anymaintenance.

CClleeaanniinngg:: to clean the shel-ves and internal areas, just wipe them with a softcloth soaked in warm water and some neutral deter-gent.

Doors, whatever their type (varnished, laminated, wooden, etc.), are some of the moststressed parts in a kitchen. Due to their weight, their initial position could change, so they shouldbe brought back to their original position lateron. This operation is very easy due to the specialblocks and hinges used by Pedini: all it takes is a normal screwdriver to move some adjustingscrews. Clean them depending on their nature, as specified below.

13

The paints used by Pedini to finish the doors aretested by the manufacturer and only those which pro-vide excellent guarantees are included in our production process. Don’t forget that the colour ofvarnished doors tends to be altered by sunlight. Thecolour of any part that may be added at a later datemight look slightly different, but with the passing oftime, it will grow to look like the older colour.

CClleeaanniinngg:: gently wipe the surface with some cotton-wool soaked in glass-cleaner or clean with thePedini microfibre cloth. Then, rinse with a soft clothsoaked in hot water and dry. For tougher dirt, use alco-hol diluted in water and immediately dried with a softcloth.

DDoo nnoott uussee abrasive sponges or steel wool and de-tergents such as bleach, acetone, trichloroethylene, ammonia, etc, because the use of this materialswould cause indelible scratches on doors.

They are the parts that wear out and deterioratethe most, due to heat, humidity, water, acids, scrat-ches and blows. This is why we build them withthe best materials and technology.

Even if resistant, for each kind of worktop, we ad-vices:aa)) to avoid the use of steel wool pads or abrasivesubstances. bb)) don’t place hot saucepans, coffe-pots or irons onthe worktop, to prevent burns and cracks. cc)) don’t drag objects across the top which maycause scratching and always use a chopping boardwhen using knives to prevent permanente damageonto the worktop.

17

The laminated tops used by Pedini are composed ofclass-E1, water-repellent wooden sheets (V100)coated with EU-compliant HPL laminates (EN438);high-pressure laminated wood, having a high grade ofresistance to heat, abrasion, humidity and water seep-age.

CClleeaanniinngg:: use a moist cloth soaked in a glass-cleaneror normal detergent that does not contain any abra-sive or acid. To remove scaling, use a sponge soakedin vinegar or an anti-scaling product. Then, dry the sur-face with a soft cloth.

DDoo nnoott uussee:: steel wool or alkaline detergents on theglossy or wax-finished surfaces. Do not drag objects along the surfaces, as this couldscratch them.

PPrreeccaauuttiioonnss:: the work tops have limited heat-resi-stance. To avoid burns or cracks, do not place pansstraight from the burner, or hot irons, on these surfa-ces. Even if the top is very resistant to abrasions, donot cut straight onto the work top, since this could getscratched. Use a chopping board, instead.

Just a few tips will help to make this strong and re-sistant material stay in good condition for a longtime.

CClleeaanniinngg:: use a soft cloth soaked in hot water, thenuse deerskin to dry. The same tips and precautionsprovided for stainless steel sinks apply to these tops.

Marble is a limestone of organic origin, generated by metamorphic processes and originating from fullycrystallised calcium carbonate. It’s a material thatlooks good and suits any kitchen, but which requiresspecial care. It comes in blocks from the quarriesand its colours and texture may look uneven due toits natural origin, making each slab unique.

CClleeaanniinngg:: use a soft cloth and soapy water. Foodstains should be removed immediately. Since this is aporous and therefore very absorbent material, avoidoil, coffee, wine, liquor, coke, tomato stains and anycorrosive stain from lemon, wine, vinegar, etc. or dyesthat can normally be found in a kitchen.

PPrreeccaauuttiioonnss:: even if they are stainproofed duringproduction, the effectiveness of these treatmentsdecreases over time (6 months), so the treatmentshould be periodically repeated using the stainproofproducts available from our retailers. How to treatmarble surfaces:

clean the marble top with a moist cloth and dry itwith a dry cloth.

Then, apply our stainproof waterproofing product or a similar product with a clean, dry clothall over the top surface.

Leave to dry then wipe the top with a dry woolcloth. Repeat a few months later.

GGrraanniittee ttooppss

This stone comes from eruptive rocks containing ahigh percentage of silica and chemically consists ofquartz and alkaline feldspars. Unlike marble tops, granite tops are more abrasion-resistant and theirtexture looks more even.

CClleeaanniinngg:: They should, however, be cleaned andmaintained like marble tops. The waterproofing tre-atment should be repeated (approximately) everyyear.

These tops are composed of sectioned wooden blocksthat are spliced in a groove-and-tongue fashion. Theyare waterproof, the only problem being that their colourchanges slightly over time. To avoid this naturalprocess, try not to expose the top to direct sunlight. The colour of any part that may be added at a later datecould look different, but it will gradually change tomatch the older colour.

CClleeaanniinngg:: rub a soft cloth soaked in soapy water alongthe top surface, in the direction of the grain. Wringout the cloth, rinse and dry the top.

The Quartzite is composed of sand, fine grain silicon, and micro-crystals and resins. Because of its hardnessit can be compared to the granite. Its care and clea-ning is similar to the one of granite and marble. Quartztops are highly shock-resistant, completely waterprof,re-sistant to all type of abrasion and suden ghanges of tem-perature. Then are hygienic and static-prof (it does notattract dust).

CClleeaanniinngg:: for routine cleaning of Quartz tops use just asoft cloth or the PPeeddiinnii mmiiccrrooffiibbrree ccllootthh.. To removestubborn stains use the Pedini cream or tough deter-gents which must then be removed with a sponge.Rinse the area with the soap and water.

19

The Cristalan is a composite material, made for 2/3of aluminium hydroxide and 1/3 of high quality acryl. The combination of these two materials gives to theworktop a considerable hardness and thermo-moul-dableness. Its colouring allows the removal of stainsor accidental cuts through an abrasive sponge.

CClleeaanniinngg:: for a correct daily cleaning please use amicro-fibre cloth with some water. To avoid the lime-stone deposit please use vinegar or detergents basedon vinegar. Please do not use fat detergents to avoidthe developing of a patina on the surface of the wor-ktop.

Steel sinks are among the strongest, most water-proof, most hygienic ones, are practically indestruc-tible and need no maintenance. Just a little damageprevention is required.

CClleeaanniinngg:: after use, rinse the sink with hot water anda normal detergent, then dry with deerskin. Specific stainless steel detergents will make it easierto get rid of marks and scales, while to remove persi-stent stains use some denatured alcohol. Should younot have this product, you can still obtain a good resultby using a cloth soaked in hot white vinegar or by rub-bing lemon peel on the stain. After this, immediatelyrinse with soapy water and dry. Periodically clean thesteel with Pedini cream which you will find in the ““SSaa--nnaacclleeaann bbooxx”” following the instructions on the packetcarefully.

DDoo nnoott uussee abrasive products (steel wool, powder de-tergents) that would scratch the surfaces, or aggres-sive, acid or abrasive products.

PPrreeccaauuttiioonnss:: salt, coke, coffee and lemon juice, if leftfor long periods of time on the sink surface, will stainit. Remove them as soon as possible. Do not leaveany open box or bottle of detergent under the sink;they can give off exhalations that could oxidise thesteel. Don’t leavewet metal objects in sinks for longtime, because may cause oxidation which may betransmitted to the sink themselves causing stains.

The suction hood removes cooking steam and smells, and traps the greasy particles that are given off duringcooking, within special filters. These particles are themain cause of the dirt that builds up on kitchen furni-ture.

CClleeaanniinngg:: use a soft cloth soaked in neutral liquid de-tergent or Pedini microfibre cloth. Do not use acid orcaustic detergents, abrasive products or steel wool. They would irreparably damage and scratch the outersurface.

DDoo nnoott lleeaavvee the burners on and free when the hoodis off. After placing the pans on the burners, turn thehood on to prevent the motor from overheating and toget rid of cooking smells and steam quickly.

AAddvviiccee:: To keep the suction hood in perfect condition, the (aluminium) grease filter should be washed every3-4 months, or at more regular intervals if it is oftenused. The same applies to the charcoal filters of thefilter hoods. To replace the filters, follow the instruc-tions contained in the user’s manual supplied with the hood.

The sucking power of the hoods is originated bygood engine and by correct plan of the externalpipe
