ACavo di alimentazioneIn caso di danneggiamento far sostituire subito ilcavo difettoso da un Centro Assistenza Autorizza-to poiché é necessario un utensile speciale. Noncollegare il cavo in corrispondenza di spigoli eoggetti taglienti o molto caldi. Evitare di metterloa contatto con l’olio. Non spostare la macchinatirandola per il cavo. Non scollegare mai la spinatirandola per il cavo o toccandola con le manibagnate. Evitare che il cavo di alimentazionependa liberamente da tavoli o scaffali.

BProtezione di altre personeAccertarsi che i bambini non abbiano la possibi-lità di giocare con la macchina. I bambini non sirendono conto del pericolo connesso agli appa-recchi elettrici.

UbicazioneCollegare la macchina su un piano stabile dovenon possa essere rovesciata. Acqua calda ovapore potrebbero fuoriuscire: pericolo di ustioni!Non usare l’apparecchio all’aperto o in ambienticon basse temperature ambientali. Non posizio-nare la macchina su superfici molto calde o nellevicinanze di fiamme libere per evitare che lacarrozzeria possa essere danneggiata.

DSpazio necessario all’usoPer il corretto e buon funzionamento dell’apparec-chio si consiglia quanto segue:- scegliere un piano di appoggio ben livellato- scegliere un ambiente sufficientemente illuminato, igie-nico e con la presa di corrente facilmente accessibile- prevedere una distanza minima dalle pareti dell’appa-recchio di 100 mm

EPuliziaPrima di pulire la macchina é indispensabiledisinserire l’interruttore generale e staccare laspina dalla presa di corrente. Aspettare quindiche la macchina si raffreddi. Non immergere maila macchina nell’acqua! E’ severamente vietatosmontare l’apparecchio o cercare di intervenire inqualsiasi modo all’interno dello stesso.

Riparazione e manutenzioneIn caso di guasti, difetti o sospetto difetto dopo unacaduta, staccare subito la spina dalla presa dicorrente. Non mettere mai in funzione l’apparec-chio difettoso. Le riparazioni possono essereeffettuate esclusivamente dai Centri di AssistenzaAutorizzati. Si declina ogni responsabilità pereventuali danni derivanti da interventi di riparazio-ne eseguiti in modo non corretto.

In caso di incendio utilizzare estintori ad AnidrideCarbonica (CO2). Non utilizzare acqua o estin-tori a polvere.

Installazioni

L’imballo originale é particolarmente robustoed adatto per le spedizioni postali. Conservar-lo per rispedire la macchina, in caso di neces-sità, al fornitore.

Prima d’installare la macchina, attenersi allenorme di sicurezza indicate a pagina 11.

Utilizzare preferibilmente la macchina con ilsupporto girevole (24). Durante l’installazioneaccertarsi che questo accessorio sia innestatonel punto previsto situato sul fondo.

Allacciamento alla rete elettrica

Attenzione: la corrente elettrica può essere mor-tale! Attenersi pertanto scrupolosamente allenorme di sicurezza.

La macchina da caffè deve essere allacciata aduna presa per corrente alternata. La tensionedeve corrispondere a quella indicata sullatarghetta dell’apparecchio.

Non usare mai cavi di alimentazione difettosi odanneggiati! Per la sostituzione rivolgersi ad unCentro Assistenza Autorizzato poiché é neces-sario un utensile speciale!

Usare una prolunga soltanto dopo essersi accer-tati che essa sia in condizioni perfette. Laprolunga deve avere una sezione minima di 1mm2 ed essere dotata di spina e presa tripolari.

Messa in funzione e impiego

Non mettere mai le parti sotto tensionea contatto con l’acqua: può generarsiun corto circuito! Il vapore e l’acquacalda possono provocare ustioni. Nondirigere mai il getto del vapore o del-l’acqua calda verso parti del corpo;manipolare con precauzione il tubovapore/acqua calda e la piastrascaldatazze: pericolo di ustioni!

Mai mettere in funzione la macchina senzaacqua e senza caffè in grani.

Togliere il misurino, il pennello e la chiave delgruppo erogatore dal cassetto raccoglifondi (1)e sistemarli a portata di mano.

Svolgere per la lunghezza necessaria il cavo dialimentazione (5), estraendolo dal lato posterio-re della macchina.

30Togliere il coperchio (15), riempire il contenitorecon caffè in grani (300 g circa) e poi riporre ilcoperchio nella sua posizione. Regolare il gra-do di macinatura mediante la levetta (17),posizionandola sulla posizione “5” della scalagraduata.

Non introdurre mai nel contenitore sostanzediverse dal caffè in grani. Si potrebbero causaregravi danni alla macchina!

CARICAMENTO DEL CIRCUITO 15 PROGRAMMAZIONE DELLA MACCHINA14contenitore, verificare che il contenitore del caffèin polvere (14) sia chiuso per evitare che i chicchipossano finirvi dentro. Si potrebbero causaregravi danni alla macchina!

Togliere il serbatoio acqua (11) dalla macchi-na, levarne il coperchio (12) e riempirlo conacqua fresca (2,4 litri circa). Una valvola sulfondo del serbatoio impedisce la fuoriuscitadell’acqua.

Prima di installare il serbatoio acqua nellamacchina, controllare che sia montato ilcoperchio del contenitore caffè in grani.

31Reintrodurre il serbatoio acqua munito del relativocoperchio. Eseguire una leggera pressione checonsentirà l’apertura automatica della valvola.

Evitare d’immettere nel serbatoio una quantitàeccessiva d’acqua.

Immettere nel serbatoio sempre e soltanto acquafresca: acqua calda o altri liquidi possonodanneggiare il serbatoio. Evitare assolutamentedi impiegare acqua addizionata con anidridecarbonica.

Non mettere in funzione la macchina senzaacqua: accertarsi prima che nel serbatoio vi siaacqua sufficiente!

Innestare la spina nella presa e premere l’inter-ruttore generale. Sul display apparirà il messag-gio:

"ATTENDERE... "

macchina accesa e tenerlo premuto fino aquando sul display non appaiono le prime duerighe di detta funzione:

Alla fine della riga appare un asterisco lampeg-giante che può essere spostato verso l’alto o versoil basso tramite le frecce ( caffè lungoe caffè normale)Se l’asterisco é sul primo menù, premendo il tasto ,l’asterisco si sposta sul secondo menù e viceversa.In sequenza appariranno sul display i seguenti punti:

Selezione dei singoli menùCon i tasti si selezionano i singoli menùe con il tasto ENT si attiva la selezione prescelta.All’interno di un menu é poi possibile modificarel’impostazione con i tasti . Premendo iltasto ENT si memorizza la programmazionedesiderata (ad esempio “ATTIVATA” per lapiastra scaldatazze).

Se si é modificato erroneamente un valorepremendo i tasti , si può uscire dal menùpremendo il tasto ESC ( Espresso) senza cheil nuovo valore venga memorizzato.

Selezione della linguaPremendo i tasti portare l’asterisco sullavoce “LINGUA” e selezionarla con il tasto ENT.Sul display appare:

Funzione di risciacquoSe la funzione di risciacquo è attivata, lacafettiera, appena viene accesa dopo un peri-odo di inattività, inizia automaticamente unrisciacquo con acqua alle parti interessateall'erogazione del caffè. Premendo i tasti

portare l’asterisco sulla voce “RISCIAC-QUO” e selezionarla con il tasto ENT.Sul display appare:

"RISCIACQUO "

Con i tasti si possono modificare i valoriimpostati: attivata, disattivata.

Regolazione della durezza dell’acquaPer regolare il grado di durezza dell’acqua énecessario eseguire l’opportuno test di verificaimpiegando l’apposita striscia in dotazione. Im-mergere brevemente (per 1 secondo) la striscianell’acqua, scuoterne via l’eccesso d’acqua edattendere un minuto circa per rilevare il risultato.

Premendo i tasti portare l’asterisco sullavoce “DUREZZA ACQUA” e selezionarlacon il tasto ENT.Sul display appare:

Caricamento del circuito

Orientare il tubo vapore / acqua calda sullavasca raccogligocce (2). Mettere una tazza oun recipiente adatto sotto il tubo e premere iltasto “acqua calda”. La pompa si avviaautomaticamente. Attendere finché l’acquafuoriesce con getto regolare, quindi premerenuovamente il tasto dell’acqua calda. Il circuitoé così caricato e la macchina é pronta per l’uso.Sul display appare il messaggio:

"SELEZ. FUNZIONE "

"PRONTO X L'USO "

Importante: Il caricamento del circuitoé da eseguirsi preliminarmente allaprima messa in funzione, dopo unperiodo prolungato di inattività, se ilserbatoio acqua é stato vuotato com-pletamente o se si verificano malfunzio-namenti della pompa.

Nei casi in cui il caricamento del circuito si rendenecessario e durante l’esecuzione della stessaoperazione, sul display appare il messaggio:

Programmazione dell’acqua caldaSe questa funzione é attivata, viene erogatacostantemente la quantità di acqua impostata.Se questa funzione é invece disattivata, vieneerogata acqua calda fino a quando l’utente noninterrompe l’erogazione. La quantità di ac-qua calda può essere programmata sol-tanto nel caso di programmazione attiva.

Programmazione del cappuccinoSe questa funzione é attivata, viene erogatacostantemente la stessa quantità di cappuccino.Se questa funzione é invece disattivata, vienepreparato il cappuccino fino a quando l’utentenon interrompe l’erogazione. Funzione di preinfusioneAttivando questa funzione si interrompe breve-mente il funzionamento della pompa durantel’erogazione del caffè ottenendo, conseguente-mente, un maggior sfruttamento della polvere.

Premendo i tasti portare l’asterisco sullavoce “PREINFUSIONE” e selezionarla con iltasto ENT.Sul display appare:

"PREINFUSIONE "

"ATTIVATA "

Con i soliti tasti la funzione si può modifi-care: “ATTIVATA”, “DISATTIVATA” o “LUN-GA” (in questo caso la sosta della pompa émaggiore).

Funzione di premacinaturaAttivando questa funzione si ottiene unamacinatura ogni volta che il dosatore é vuoto. E’quindi sempre pronta una porzione di caffèmacinato che consente di risparmiare tempo neicasi di impieghi frequenti della macchina. Que-sta funzione é invece sconsigliata negli altri casiper i vantaggi che derivano dall’impiego delcaffè macinato all’istante e, quindi, fresco.

Con il tasto cappuccino si possono azzera-re i contatori.

Ciclo di lavaggioL’apparecchio e’ dotato di un programma dilavaggio che completa il lavaggio usuale, quo-tidiano e settimanale. Questo programma, seutilizzato regolarmente permette di eliminareefficacemente l’untuosità del caffè in parti nonaccessibili e previene alterazioni nel gusto delcaffè.

A seconda dell’impiego dell’apparecchio, se neconsiglia il lavaggio mensile o al massimo dopo250 tazzine di caffè. Il programma di lavaggiodura circa 5 minuti, ed e’ suddiviso in 4 cicli,compreso il risciacquo con acqua fresca. Tra icicli ci sono delle brevi pause di circa 40secondi.

Il programma di lavaggio non va mai interrotto.

Importante: prima della messa in funzionedel programma di lavaggio, riempire sempre ilserbatoio dell’acqua completamente e porre uncontenitore capiente (min. 1 litro di contenuto)sotto l’erogatore di caffè (l’erogatore e’ regolabilein altezza o può essere tolto per la pulizia).Per il lavaggio e’ necessario circa 1 litro d’ac-qua (incluso il risciacquo).Eventualmente svuota-re il contenuto di tanto in tanto.

Usando i tasti portare l’asterisco alla vocedi menu’ <<CICLO LAVAGGIO>>. Per atti-vare la voce utilizzare il tasto ENT.Sul display appare:

Dosaggio del caffè da maci-nare

33La leva di dosaggio (18) permette di selezionare laquantità di caffè da macinare da 6 a 9 grammi.Posizionare la leva (18) sulla posizione desiderata.

Riempimento cassetto raccoglifondi

Quando nell’apposito cassetto ci sono 30 fondi,sul display appare il seguente messaggio:

"VUOTARE FONDI "

La macchina non si arresta: estrarre il contenitoree vuotarlo.

Regolazione della macinaturaSe l’erogazione del caffè é troppo veloce, incaso di macinatura troppo grossa, o se fuoriescea gocce, nel caso di macinatura troppo fine,occorre regolare il grado di macinatura delmacinacaffè la cui posizione iniziale consigliataé quella coincidente con il punto 5.

In caso di macinatura troppo grossa, correggeresu un valore più basso (ad es. da 5 a 3).Nel caso contrario, correggere invece su unvalore più alto (ad es. da 5 a 7).

La regolazione del macinacaffè deve essereeseguita unicamente quando quest’ultimo é infunzione. Evitare, se possibile, la regolazioneestrema nella posizione 1. In alternativa, prova-te preferibilmente un’altra miscela di caffè, poi-ché non tutte le miscele producono risultatianaloghi.

Miscele di caffèAccertarsi che il caffè sia fresco e utilizzare unamiscela per caffè espresso.Per ottenere un espresso forte e aromatico, usarele miscele speciali per macchine da espresso ele apposite tazzine con pareti spesse.Conservare il caffè al fresco, in un contenitorechiuso ermeticamente.

Consigli e raccomandazioni

Inattività prolungataDopo un prolungato periodo di inattività, perragioni igieniche, si consiglia di risciacquare afondo il circuito.Mettere una tazza sotto il tubo vapore / acquacalda (7) e, premendo il tasto acqua calda,riempirla di acqua.

Preriscaldamento delle tazzeLe tazze possono essere preriscaldate disponen-dole sull’apposita piastra scaldatazze.

Controllo della temperaturaAd ogni accensione della macchina appare suldisplay il messaggio:

Doppia porzione di caffè o 2 tazzePremendo due volte in successione uno dei tretasti di selezione, prima che inizi l’erogazionedel caffè, la macchina prepara una doppiaporzione di caffè.

Macinatura del caffè34Questa macchina macina per ogni tazza da erogareuna porzione di caffè fresco: nel caso delle duetazze, infatti, macina due porzioni, una dopo l’altra,conservando la qualità ottimale del caffè.

Regolare il grado di macinatura come indicatoa pagina 19

La regolazione del macinacaffè deve e s s e r eeseguita unicamente quando quest’ ultimo é infunzione.

Erogazione del caffèIn funzione delle necessità, mettere una o duetazze già preriscaldate sulla griglia appoggiatazze(3) in corrispondenza dell’erogatore (6). Premereil tasto di selezione corrispondente: la macchinaeroga automaticamente il caffè prescelto.

Nel caso sia stata selezionata una quantità eccessivadi acqua, l’erogazione può essere interrotta premen-do uno dei tasti di selezione del caffè. Se é stataselezionata la funzione del doppio caffè, interrom-pendo la prima erogazione si annulla la seconda.

Impiego del caffè in polvere

Accertarsi di usare soltanto caffè macinato congrado di macinatura media (del tipo delpremacinato commerciale reperibile nei nego-zi). Non versare mai in questo contenitore (14)caffè in grani o solubile.

Versare nel contenitore il caffè premacinatoimmediatamente prima di preparare il caffè:anche in questo caso, per ottenere i miglioririsultati, la miscela dovrà essere assolutamentefresca.La qualità del caffè macinato degrada veloce-mente!

35Importante!Versare una sola porzione di caffè macinatonell’apposito contenitore (14) riempendo finoall’orlo il misurino allegato!

Per l’erogazione premere il tasto caffè in polvere e poi il tasto di selezione corrispondente alla

quantità desiderata (caffè lungo, caffè, espres-so) per una sola tazza.

Importante! Con questa funzione non é pos-sibile eseguire il doppio ciclo di caffè.

Nel caso sia stata selezionata una quantitàeccessiva di acqua, l’erogazione può essereinterrotta premendo uno dei tasti di selezione delcaffè.

Erogazione di acqua caldaL’erogazione dell’acqua calda é ottenuta sfrut-tando un circuito idrico che garantisce la giustatemperatura ed un gusto neutro per la prepara-zione di thé, brodo, tisane, ecc.

Premendo il tasto dell'acqua calda apparirà suldisplay il seguente messaggio:

Se durante l’erogazione dell’acqua calda larelativa programmazione é attivata, viene eroga-ta la sola quantità programmata. Nel caso contra-rio, l’erogazione deve essere invece fermata

Durata di funzionamentoLa macchina da caffè può rimanere accesa perl’intera giornata. In questo caso consigliamo peròdi attivare la funzione di risparmio energeticopremendo il tasto standby. Programmando oppor-tunamente il temporizzatore, questa operazione éautomatica: vedere al proposito a pagina 16.Nel caso di inattività prolungata consigliamoinvece di spegnere la macchina premendol’interruttore generale (4): una volta riaccesa,sarà pronta in meno di due minuti.

Spegnimento della macchinaSpegnere la macchina soltanto quando sonoconcluse la preparazione automatica del caffèo le altre erogazioni possibili.

Erogazione

Livello di riempimento delle tazzeCon questa macchina potete dosare con precisionela quantità di caffè in funzione delle tazze impiegate.Con i tre tasti di selezione, , si sceglie laquantità desiderata. Sul display appariranno imessaggi corrispondenti.

Per programmare il livello di riempimento delletazze, é necessario tenere premuto il corrispon-dente tasto di selezione fino ad ottenere la quan-tità di caffè desiderata (massimo 250 ml circa).Durante questa operazione sul display appare ilseguente messaggio:

La caffettiera considera automaticamente lequantità necessarie per preparare due tazze.

Attenzione! Se la funzione di preinfusione éattivata, durante la regolazione del livello di riempi-mento delle tazze mantenere premuto il tasto selezio-nato anche durante la pausa della pompa e fino alraggiungimento della quantità desiderata.

Erogazione di vaporeIl vapore prodotto con la macchina serve perscaldare latte o altre bevande.

Ricordarsi sempre di pulire con uno straccioumido il tubo al termine dell’erogazione. I resi-dui, specialmente di latte, si eliminano condifficoltà.

Girando la manopola per il vapore (9) suldisplay apparirà il seguente messaggio:

Non lavare parti della macchina nella lavastovi-glie!.

Asciugare sempre a mano i componenti dellamacchina, senza inserirle nel forno o nel forno amicroonde!

Serbatoio acqua, vasca raccogligocce,cassetto raccoglifondi ed erogatore caffè39Per mantenere puliti il vano di servizio ed ilgruppo erogatore (22), raccomandiamo divuotare ogni giorno, dopo l’uso, il contenitoreraccoglifondi (1).

Serbatoio acqua (11), vasca raccogligocce (2),griglia appoggiatazze (3) e contenitoreraccoglifondi (1) sono da lavare periodicamen-te con un detergente non abrasivo e da asciuga-re con cura.

40L’erogatore del caffè (6) può essere estratto pereseguirne la pulizia. Allentare le viti zigrinate erisciacquarlo accuratamente con acqua calda.

Di tanto in tanto pulire l’esterno della macchinacon un panno umido e poi asciugare.

Protezione contro le impurità del caffèin graniAnche il caffè in grani più selezionato puòcontenere impurità di ogni genere (sassolini,parti di metallo, ...).Per evitare danni al macinacaffè, quest’ultimo édotato di una protezione contro le impurità.Se una di queste cade nel macinacaffè, la suapresenza é segnalata da un rumore particolare:spegnere subito la macchina!.In ogni caso la macinatura si fermerà nel giro di20 secondi grazie all’apposito controllo elettro-nico.Importante: Per non rischiare di danneggiareil motore del macinacaffè, non rimettere infunzione la macchina prima di avere eliminatoil corpo estraneo.Procedere come indicato a pagina 24, ai punti45 - 49.

Pulizia e manutenzione

Pulizia genericaUna macchina da caffè tenuta sempre ben pulitaed in ordine vi garantirà un caffè di qualitàottimale e durerà anche più al lungo.

Prima di procedere alla pulizia della macchina,spegnere l’interruttore generale, estrarre la spinadalla presa di corrente ed aspettare che siraffreddi.

Non immergere la macchina in acqua o in altriliquidi: si potrebbe danneggiare!

Spegnimento automaticoA sportello di servizio aperto, la macchina sispegne automaticamente e non può funzionare.Con il gruppo erogatore non inserito, é invecepossibile la sola erogazione di acqua e vapore.

Controllo elettronico della mancanzadel caffèQuando termina il caffè in grani, la macinaturasi arresta automaticamente dopo circa 20 se-condi. Riempire il contenitore con caffè in graniseguendo le istruzioni riportate a pagina 13.

Se durante l’erogazione del cappuccino la relati-va programmazione é attivata, viene erogata la solaquantità programmata. Nel caso contrario,l’erogazione deve essere invece fermata premendonuovamente il tasto di selezione al raggiungimentodella quantità di cappuccino desiderata.Per programmare la quantità di cappuccino é neces-sario tenere premuto il relativo tasto di selezione finoal raggiungimento della quantità desiderata.

Attenzione: La quantità di cappuccinopuò essere programmata solo se larelativa funzione di programmazioneé attivata (vedere a pagina 16).

38Per l’erogazione del cappuccino, introdurre iltubo di aspirazione (26) del cappuccinatore(25) in un cartone di latte o in un altro conteni-tore. 44Tenendolo per l’apposita maniglia, reintrodurreil gruppo erogatore nella macchina fino adottenerne l’innesto. Chiudere lo sportello diservizio e reinserire il contenitore raccoglifondi.

Evitare assolutamente di premere sultesto “PRESS” quando si inserisce ilgruppo erogatore: si potrebbero arre-care danni irreparabili all’apparecchio!

Attenzione: Se il gruppo erogatore non éinserito correttamente, sul display apparirà ilseguente messaggio:

Inserire quindi l’anello di macinatura assicurando-si che i riferimenti blu coincidano.

50Far ruotare in senso orario l’anello di regolazionefino a far coincidere i riferimenti rossi.

51Innestare la leva di regolazione sull’anello cercan-do di farla coincidere con la posizione del gradodi macinatura precedentemente annotata.

Cappuccinatore52Per una pulizia veloce del cappuccinatore,immergere di tanto in tanto il tubo di aspirazionein acqua calda e farne fuoriuscire una quantitàsufficiente.Per una pulizia più accurata, smontare ilcappuccinatore ed aprire il coperchio (29).Pulire la parte esterna con acqua calda erisciacquarlo con acqua pulita.

Decalcificazione

Attenzione: Le operazioni di decalci-ficazione sono da eseguirsi su appa-recchi con componenti non riscaldati.La decalcificazione serve per eliminare tutte leincrostazioni calcaree dalle superfici e dai fori,garantendo così il perfetto funzionamento divalvole, comandi di riscaldamento e di altrielementi importanti.Nota: data la complessità del circuito idraulicodella caffettiera, i cicli di decalcificazione espo-sti di seguito (automatico e convenzionale) nonconsentono di interessare tutti i condotti. Sonoinfatti esclusi componenti di facile ac-cesso quali il gruppo erogatore (22)ed il perno in plastica di connessioneallo stesso.

L’operazione di decalcificazione deve essere ese-

guita regolarmente ogni 3 – 4 mesi. Nelle regionicon una durezza dell’acqua molto elevata, consi-gliamo una decalcificazione più frequente.

Per evitare pericolosi ritardi dell’utente, questamacchina è dotata di un apposito contatore dicontrollo che segnala, in funzione dell’acquaimpiegata, la necessità di eseguire urgentementel’operazione.In questo caso apparirà nel display il messaggio:

"DECALCIFICAZ. "

Quando compare il messaggio la macchinanon si blocca ma é consigliabile eseguire ladecalcificazione con tempestività.Per eliminare il messaggio, si deve procederecome indicato a pag.25.

La macchina è regolata inizialmente su un valoredella durezza dell’acqua di 25°fH, che provo-ca la segnalazione dopo 150 litri circa.

E’ comunque possibile regolare esattamente questasegnalazione, in funzione della durezza dell’acqua,procedendo come indicato a pagina 15.Sono possibili le regolazioni seguenti:Durezza 4: acqua dura, oltre 29°fH (14°dH),corrisponde a circa 80 litri di acqua impiegataDurezza 3: acqua mediamente dura, circa20-29°fH (7-14°dH), corrisponde a circa 150litri di acqua impiegataDurezza 2: acqua dolce, circa 12-20°fH (4-7°dH), corrisponde a circa 300 litri di acquaimpiegataDurezza 1: acqua molto dolce, meno di10°fH (3°dH), corrisponde a oltre 500 litri diacqua impiegata

Nelle regioni con acqua dura ed in ogni caso,per migliorare la qualità del caffè, consigliamol’impiego di un filtro per acqua che protegge lamacchina e può ridurre la frequenza degliintervalli di decalcificazione.

La macchina non può erogare caffè.

Macinacaffè

Mai immettere acqua nel macinacaffè: si potreb-bero arrecare danni irreparabili all’apparec-chio!

45Eseguire periodicamente la pulizia del conteni-tore caffè in grani, questa operazione èriservata ad un tecnico qualificato!Estrarre la spina d’alimentazione della macchi-na dalla presa di corrente.Togliere tutti i grani di caffè dal contenitore eallentare le due viti di fissaggio. Ora il conteni-tore può essere tolto per essere ripulito.

46Tirare con precauzione verso l’alto la leva diregolazione annotandosi il grado di macinaturaselezionato.

47Far ruotare in senso antiorario l’anello diregolazione fino a far coincidere i riferimenti blu.

48Ora è possibile estrarre l’anello di macinatura,tirandolo verso l’alto ed agendo con movimentileggeri.

49Ripulire con il pennello in dotazione e con unaspirapolvere tutta la zona del macinacaffè el’anello di macinatura.Procedere con la massima cautela cercando dinon modificare le posizioni dei riferimenti.

Eseguire la sequenza inversa per riassemblare ilmacinacaffè. Se l’anello di regolazione si éspostato durante la pulizia, ruotarlo fino a farcoincidere il riferimento blu con uno dei tre incavi.

Nota: impiegare prodotti decalcificanti speci-fici, adatti per le macchine da caffè.Non usare assolutamente l’aceto divino!

La decalcificazione si può eseguire procedendocon le due seguenti modalità:

Decalcificazione automaticaScegliere questa modalità dal menù di program-mazione (vedere a pagina 14).Con i tasti portare l’asterisco a fine rigasulla voce Decalcific. e confermare la selezio-ne con il tasto ENT.Sul display apparirà il seguente messaggio:

Versare il decalcificante nel serbatoio acquaseguendo le istruzioni riportate sulla confezionedel prodotto impiegato. Mettere un recipientesufficientemente capace sotto il tubo vapore/acqua calda e aprire lentamente la manopolaper il vapore. Inizia la decalcificazione auto-matica della macchina: la pompa versa picco-le quantità di decalcificante all’interno delsistema e poi si arresta per lasciare agire ilprodotto. Durante questa fase, sul display ap-parirà il seguente messaggio:

"DECALCIFICAZ. "

"IN CORSO "

Dopo circa 45 minuti, a processo terminato, suldisplay apparirà il seguente messaggio:

"DECALCIFICAZ. "

"TERMINATA "

Chiudere la manopola per il vapore. La pompasi spegne.Premere il tasto ENT. Appare un messaggio chesegnala che si deve procedere alla pulizia della

macchina per eliminare eventuali residui didecalcificante.

Rimuovere il serbatoio dell’acqua, risciacquarloaccuratamente e riempire con acqua fresca.Aprire lentamente la manopola per il vapore efare fuoriuscire l'intero contenuto del serbatoio.Sul display apparirà il seguente messaggio:

"TERMINATO "

Chiudere la manopola per il vapore. Ritornare nellafunzione di programmazione premendo il tasto ENT.

Nota: Si può uscire dal processo di decalcificazionepremendo ESC (tasto per acqua calda).

Eliminazione del messaggio didecalcificazioneNella funzione di programmazione, premendoi tasti , portare l’asterisco a fine riga sullavoce Segn. Decalc. e confermare la segnalazio-ne con il tasto ENT.Sul display apparirà il seguente messaggio:

Se inutilizzata, scollegare la macchina toglien-do la spina dalla presa.

Custodire la macchina in luogo asciutto e nonaccessibile ai bambini.Se la macchina rimane inutilizzata per un lungoperiodo di tempo, proteggerla dalla polvere edallo sporco.

ManutenzioneOltre a saltuarie verifiche di funzionamento, lamacchina da caffè deve essere sottoposta perio-dicamente a pulizia e manutenzione come indi-cato a pagina 23.

Guasti e rimedi

In caso di guasti e difetti o se si sospettanoinconvenienti alla caffettiera, staccare immedia-tamente la spina dalla presa di corrente.

Se non riuscite ad eliminare il guasto attenendo-vi alle indicazioni riportate nella tabella a lato,rivolgetevi ad un Centro Assistenza Autorizzatodove potrete richiedere interventi e riparazionialla macchina da caffè. Le riparazioni noneffettuate correttamente comportano gravi rischiper l’utente.Si declina ogni responsabilità relativa a dannicausati da riparazioni non eseguite correttamen-te: in questi casi, viene inoltre a mancare lacopertura della garanzia.

Decalcificazione convenzionaleA macchina spenta, versare il decalcificante nelserbatoio acqua seguendo le istruzioni riportatesulla confezione del prodotto impiegato. Mette-re un contenitore sufficientemente grande sotto iltubo vapore / acqua calda (7). Accendere lamacchina premendo l’interruttore generale, pre-mere il tasto dell’acqua calda e lasciare fuoriu-scire dal tubo la soluzione decalcificante percirca 1 minuto.Premere il tasto dell’acqua calda per terminarel’operazione. Spegnere la macchina e lasciareagire il decalcificante per circa 5 minuti. Ripeterel’operazione 2 - 3 volte fino al completo esauri-mento del contenuto del serbatoio dell’acqua.

Terminata la decalcificazione, risciacquare beneil serbatoio (11) e riempirlo d’acqua fresca.Accendere la macchina e risciacquare l’impian-to idraulico facendo scorrere acqua fresca (2 litricirca) attraverso il tubo vapore/acqua calda.In questo modo elimineremo anche gli eventualicattivi odori del prodotto decalcificante.

Importante:La decalcificazione periodica garantisce il buonfunzionamento della vostra macchina e vi evitacostose riparazioni. I danni che si verificano aseguito di mancata decalcificazione, utilizzoimproprio ed inosservanza delle istruzioni perl’uso, non sono coperti dalla garanzia. Se nonsiete certi del grado di durezza della vostraacqua, vi consigliamo di conservare laregolazione iniziale.

DisattivazioneRendere tempestivamente inutilizzabili gli appa-recchi vecchi.Tagliare il cavo di alimentazione e consegnarela caffettiera ad un centro di raccolta pubblico.

Benutzen Sie die Kaffeemaschine möglichstimmer mit dem Drehring (24). Achten Sie beider Montage darauf, dass der Drehring an dervorgesehenen Stelle auf der Geräteunterseiteeinrastet.

Stromanschluss

Bitte beachten Sie, dass unsachgemässerUmgang mit Strom tödlichsein kann.Die Kaffeemaschine nur an Wechselstromanschliessen. Die Spannung muss mit demTypenschild des Gerätes übereinstimmen.

Niemals defektes Netzkabel verwenden.Defekte Kabel und Stecker müssen durchautorisierteFachleute sofort ersetzt werden.

Verwenden Sie nur dann ein Verlänge-rungskabel, wenn Sie sich zuvor von desseneinwandfreiem Zustand überzeugt haben. DasVerlängerungskabel muss mit einem Mindest-Querschnitt von 1 mm2 und einem Dreipol-Stecker ausgerüstet sein.

Vor dem Einfüllen der Kaffeebohnen kontrollieren,ob der Behälter für das Kaffeepulver (14)geschlossen ist, damit nicht versehentlichKaffeebohnen hineingeraten: Geräteschaden!

Frischwasserbehälter (11) abnehmen, Deckel(12) entfernen und Behälter mit kaltem Wasserfüllen, ca. 2,4 l. Das Auslaufen des Wasserswird durch ein Ventil am Boden des Behältersverhindert.

Bevor der Wasserbehälter eingesetztwird, überprüfen Sie, ob derBohnenbehälterdeckel aufgesetzt ist.

31Den Frischwasserbehälter wieder einsetzen.Nach dem Wiedereinsetzen des Behältersnochmals einen leichten Druck auf den Behältergeben, um das Ventil einzurasten. Das Ventilöffnet sich somit automatisch. Den Deckel aufden Behälter setzen.

Die max. Wasserfüllmenge nicht überschreiten.

Immer kaltes Wasser einfüllen Warmes oderheisses Wasser oder andere Flüssigkeitenkönnten das Gerät beschädigen.

Das Gerät nie ohne Wasser betreiben.Vor jeder Benutzung sicherstellen, dassgenügend Wasser im Tank ist.

ReinigungszyklusDie Kaffeemaschine verfügt über einReinigungsprogramm, welches eine Ergänzungzur normalen täglichen und wöchentlichenReinigung ist. Das Programm ermöglicht eineEntfernung des Kaffeefettes an sonst nichtzugänglichen Stellen und bietet somit beiregelmässiger Anwendung Gewähr für einenungetrübten Kaffeegenuss. Je nach Gebrauchder Kaffeemaschine empfehlen wir eineAnwendung monatlich oder spätestens nach250 Tassen. Das Reinigungsprogramm dauertca. 5 Minuten. Das Programm führt vierReinigungszyklen inkl. Frischwasserspülungdurch. Dazwischen erfolgt jeweils eine kleinevon 40 Sekunden.

Der Reinigungszyklus darf niemals unterbrochenwerden.

Wichtig: Vor Inbetriebnahme desReinigungsprogramms unbedingt zuerst denWassertank ganz füllen und einen grösserenBehälter (mind. 1Liter Inhalt) unter den Kaffeeauslaufstellen (der Kaffeeauslauf ist höhenverstellbar oderkann zur separaten Reinigung auch entferntwerden.). Bei der Reinigung werden ca. 1 LiterWasser (inkl. Frischwasserspülung) benötigt. DenAuffangbehälter gegebenenfalls zwischendurchleeren.

Um die Ausgabewieder freizugeben, ist der Zähler-Zyklus wiederauf 0 zu stellen. Wird die Zähler-Sperrung auf0 gesetzt, ist die Funktion ausgeschaltet. Schaden nehmen kann. Vermeiden Sie nachMöglichkeit extreme Einstellungen, z.B. Position1, probieren Sie lieber zuerst eine andereKaffeesorte aus. Nicht jeder Kaffee eignet sich.

KaffeeAchten Sie auf frischen Kaffee, und verwendenSie eine dunklere Röstung.Um einen starken und würzigen Espresso zuerhalten, nur speziell für Espressomaschinengeeignete Kaffeemischungen und kleine dick-wandige Espresso-Tassen verwenden.Frischer Kaffee wird am besten kühl und luftdichtverschlossen aufbewahrt.

BetriebszeitDie Kaffeemaschine kann ohne weiteres denganzen Tag über eingeschaltet bleiben. Wirempfehlen Ihnen jedoch, das Gerät nachGebrauch in den Energiesparmodus zuschalten. Drücken Sie die “Standby”-Taste.Durch die Programmierung des Timers erfolgtdies automatisch. Siehe Seite 36.Bei längerem Nichtgebrauch (z.B. über Nacht)sollte das Gerät mit dem Netzschalter (4)abgeschaltet werden.

Zubereitung

entsprechende Starttaste. Die Maschine gibtjetzt den gewählten Kaffee automatisch aus.Durch Drücken irgendeiner Kaffee-Taste kannder Kaffeevorgang unterbrochen werden, wennbeispielsweise eine zu hohe Wassermengeeingestellt wurde. Wenn bei 2 Kaffees währenddem ersten Produkt abgebrochen wird, erfolgtkein Brühen des zweiten Kaffees.

Pulverkaffee

Beachten Sie, dass nur gemahlener Kaffee(mittelfeine Mahlung) verwendet werden darf.Niemals ganze Bohnen oder löslichen Kaffeeverwenden!

Gemahlenen Kaffee erst kurz vor der Zube-reitung in den Behälter einfüllen. GemahlenerKaffee altet schnell und verliert an Qualität.

Wichtig35Mit dem mitgeliefer ten Messlö f fel dengemahlenen Kaffee in den Behälter (14)einfüllen. Es darf nur ein gestrichener Messlöffeleingefüllt werden.

Nun auf die Taste zur Anwahl Kaffeepulver und zusätzlich die entsprechende Starttaste(Kaffee lang, Kaffee normal, Espresso) drücken.

Wichtig! In dieser Funktion ist es nicht möglicheine doppelte Kaffeeportion zu brühen.Falls eine zu grosse Ausgabemenge gewähltwurde kann die Ausgabe durch Drücken einerStarttaste unterbrochen werden.

HeisswasserDer Heisswasserbetrieb ist vom Kaffeesystemgetrennt und garantiert somit geschmacksneutralesheisses Wasser für Tee, Bouillon usw.

Beim Betätigen der Taste für warmes Wassererscheint auf dem Display die folgende

Ist bei der Heisswasserabgabe die Heiss-wasserprogrammierung eingeschaltet, wird dieprogrammierte Menge gefördert, sonst wirdsolange Heisswasser abgegeben, bis durchnochmaliges Drücken der Heisswassertaste dieAbgabe ausgeschaltet wird. Wird nur Heiss-wasser bezogen.Um die Heisswassermenge zu programmieren,wird die Heisswassertaste gedrückt und gehaltenbis die gewünschte Menge gefördert wurde, wirddurch Loslassen der Heisswasser-taste die Abgabegestoppt und die geförderte Menge gespeichert.

Achtung:Die Heisswassermenge kann nurprogrammiert werden, wenn dieHeisswasserprogrammierung im Pro-grammiermenu eingeschaltet ist(Siehe Seite 36).

Dampf-/Heisswasserdüse (7) auf Abtropfrost (3)richten und den Drehknopf (9) im Gegenuhr-zeigersinn leicht öffnen.Warten Sie, bis das restliche Wasser in derDüse abgelaufen ist. Anschliessend die Dampf-/Heisswasserdüse ausschwenken und tief in diezu erwärmende Flüssigkeit eintauchen.

37Drehknopf Dampf langsam bis zum Anschlagöffnen und die Flüssigkeit mit kreisendenBewegungen von unten nach oben erhitzen.

Nach der Erhitzung des Getränkes denDrehknopf wieder zurückdrehen und die Düsesofort mit einem feuchten Lappen reinigen.Achtung: Die Düse ist sehr heiss: Verbren-nungsgefahr!

Wird kein Dampf mehr benötigt, Dampf-/Heiss-wasserdüse zurückschwenken und auf denAbtropfrost richten.

Ist bei der Cappuccinoabgabe die Cappuc-cinoprogrammierung eingeschaltet, wird dieprogrammierte Menge gefördert, sonst wirdsolange Cappuccino abgegeben, bis durchnochmaliges Drücken der Cappuccinotaste dieAbgabe ausgeschaltet wird.Um die Cappuccinomenge zu programmieren,

wird die Cappuccinotaste gedrückt und gehalten.Nach ca. 3 Sekunden schaltet die Pumpe einund die Cappuccinoabgabe beginnt. Ist diegewünschte Menge gefördert, wird durchLoslassen der Cappuccinotaste die Abgabegestoppt und die geförderte Menge gespeichert.

Reinigung des CappuccinatoreFüllen Sie einen Behälter mit Wasser (anstelleMilch), stellen Sie ihn unter den Cappuccinatoreund lassen den Cappuccinatore laufen, bis derBehälter leer ist. Dadurch wird der Cappuc-cinatore durchgespült und gereinigt. Somit isteine hygienisch einwandfreie Reinigunggewährleistet.

SteinsicherungAuch beim auserlesensten Kaffee kann esvorkommen, dass sich kleine Steine unter denBohnen befinden. Um Schäden zu vermeiden,ist das Mahlwerk mit einer Steinsicherung aus-gestattet. Sollte ein Stein in das Mahlwerk ge-langen, so macht sich dies durch lautes Ratternbemerkbar. Stellen Sie die Maschine sofort ab.Sollten Sie nicht in der Nähe sein, so stellt dasMahlwerk mittels eingebauter Automatik nachspätestens 20 Sekunden ab.Wichtig: Um den Motor nicht zu beschädigen,die Maschine nicht wieder in Betrieb setzen,solange der Stein nicht entfernt ist.Vorgehen siehe Seite 43, Punkte 45 – 49.

Trocknen Sie die Teile immer von Hand ab undnicht im Backofen oder in der Mikrowelle!

40Das Kaf feeauslauf -System (6) kann zurReinigung entfernt werden. Die Rändelschraubelösen und die Auslaufkanäle mit heissemWasser gut reinigen.Reinigen Sie von Zeit zu Zeit das Gerät miteinem feuchten Tuch, und reiben Sie esanschliessend trocken.

Reinigen Sie je nach Bedarf den Behälter fürKaffeepulver (14) mit dem mitgelieferten Pinsel.BrühgruppeDie Brühgruppe (22) ist immer zu reinigen, wennder Kaffeebohnenbehälter nachgefüllt wird,mindestens aber ein- bis zweimal wöchentlich.

Gerät durch Drücken des Netzschalters (4)ausschalten und Servicetüre (19) öffnen. Zuerstden Kaffeesatzbehälter (1) entnehmen.

41Brühgruppe (22) am Haltegriff herausnehmen,indem kurz auf die PRESS-Stelle gedrückt wird.

Die Brühgruppe muss mit hand warmem Wasserohne Spülmittel gereinigt werden. AchtenSie darauf, dass die beiden Chromstahlsiebefrei von Kaffeerückständen sind.

42Das obere Sieb können Sie für die Reinigungabnehmen, indem Sie mit dem mitgeliefertenSchlüssel die Schraube im Gegenuhrzeigersinnlösen. Anschliessend alle Teile der Brügruppetrockenreiben, Sieb wieder montieren undSchraube mit dem Schlüssel vorsichtig anziehen.

43Nehmen Sie die Schublade für Kaffeepulverreste(23) zur Reinigung heraus. Verwenden Sie dabeiein nicht scheuerndes Reinigungsmittel.

Reinigen Sie den Serviceraum gründlich, undsetzen Sie anschliessend die Schublade für

Cappuccinatore

52Zur schnellen Reinigung zwischendurch denAnsaug-Schlauch in heisses Wasser geben undden Cappuccinatore betätigen, dadurch wirdder Cappuccinatore mit Heisswasser-Dampfdurchgespühlt.Zur gründlichen Reinigung den Cappuccinatoredemontieren und den Deckel (29) aufmachen.Mit hand warmem Wasser äusserlich reinigen,anschliessend mit klarem Wasser durchspülen.

EntkalkungAchtung: Entkalkungsarbeiten sind beiabgekühlter Maschine auszuführen.

Durch das Entkalken werden sämtliche Flächenund Durchlässe von Verkrustungen befreit. Diesgarantiert die einwandfreie Funktion vonVentilen, Heizungssteuerungen und anderenwichtigen Elementen.

Hinweis: aufgrund der komplexen Bauweisedes hydraulischen Kreislaufs der Kaffeemaschinebetreffen die im folgenden beschriebenenEntkalkungszyklen (automatisch undkonventionell) nicht alle Leitungen.Davon ausgeschlossen sind leichterreichbare Bestandteile wie dieBrühgruppe (22) und derVerbindungszapfen aus Plastik zudieser Einheit.

Je nach Kalkhaltigkeit des Wassers ist das Gerätalle drei bis vier Monate zu entkalken. InGegenden mit sehr hoher Wasserhär teempfehlen wir Ihnen eine entsprechend öftereAnwendung.

Um Ihnen die Entkalkung zu erleichtern, ist dieseKaffeemaschine mit einer speziellen Kontroll-anzeige ausgerüstet.

Spätestens wenn diese Anzeige leuchtet, ist dieMaschine zu entkalken. Die Maschine wirdnicht gesperrt. Sie haben zusätzlich die Mög-lichkeit, diese Anzeige genau auf IhreWasserhärte einzustellen.Vom Werk ist das Gerät auf eine mittlere Was-serhärte von ca. 25° fH eingestellt, was dasAufleuchten “Entkalken” nach ca. 150 Liternbewirkt.

45Der Kaffeebohnenbehälter muss regelmässigvon qualifiziertem Fachpersonal gereinigtwerden. Zu diesem Zweck den Netzstecker ausder Steckdose ziehen.Die restlichen Bohnen aus dem Behälterentnehmen und die beiden Schrauben lösen.DerBohnenbehälter kann nun für die Reinigungentfernt werden.

In Gegenden mit hartem Wasser und zurgleichzeitigen Verbesserung der Kaffeequalitätempfehlen wir die Verwendung eines Wasserfilters.Dies schützt die Maschine und verlängert dieerforderlichen Entkalkungsabstände.

Hinweis: Benutzen Sie hierfür ein speziellgeeignetes Entkalkungsmittel für Kaffeemaschinen.Auf keinen Fall darf Essig verwendetwerden, dieser würde das Gerätbeschädigen.

Zum Entkalken stehen Ihnen zwei Möglichkeitenzur Verfügung:

Konventionelle EntkalkungBei ausgeschalteter Kaffeemaschine Entkal-kungslösung (gemäss Hinweis auf derVerpackung) in den Wasserbehälter geben.Gefäss unter die Dampf-/Heisswasserdüse (7)stellen.Durch Drücken des Netzschalters Gerä teinschalten und Heisswasser-Taste drücken undca. 1 Minute die Entkalkungslösung über dieDüse ausfliessen lassen.Zum Beenden Heisswasser-Taste drücken. gefüllte frische Wasser (ca. 2 Liter) über dieDampf-/Heisswasserdüse ausfliessen lassen.So bleiben keine geschmacksbeeinträchtigen-den Reste in der Maschine.

Die Kaffeemaschine ist wieder betriebsbereit.

Wichtig: Regelmässige Entkalkung schützt IhrGerät vor teuren Reparaturen. Schäden, dieauf Unterlassung der notwendigen Entkalkung,falsche Handhabung oder Nichtbeachten derBetriebsanleitung zurückzuführen sind, fallennicht unter Garantie. Sind Sie nicht sicher überden Härtegrad Ihres Wassers, so verlassen Siesich am besten auf die Werkseinstellung.

Entsorgung

Ausgediente Geräte sofort unbrauchbar ma-chen. Netzstecker ziehen und Netzkabeldurchtrennen.

Ausgediente Kaffeemaschinen sollten möglichstbei einer öffentlichen Sammelstelle abgegebenwerden.

Déballage et mise en placeL’emballage d’origine est très robuste et apte àl’expédition par la poste.Conservez-le au cas où il serait nécessaire derenvoyer la machine au producteur.

Avant la mise en place de la machine expresso,prenez les précautions de page 51.

Utilisez toujours la machine en vous servant dusupport pivotant (24). Lors du montage, veillez àce que le support pivotant s’engage bien dansson logement sur le fond de la machine.Votre machine expresso est maintenant prête àfonctionner.

Branchement électrique

Attention ! Le courant électrique peut entraînerla mort.

Ne branchez votre machine expresso que surune prise de courant alternatif. La tension dusecteur doit correspondre à celle qui est indiquéesur la plaquette du constructeur.

N’utilisez jamais un câble d’alimentation défectueux.Faites immédiatement remplacer par un spécialisteautorisé toute fiche ou câble d’alimentation défectueux.

N’utilisez jamais de rallonges sans en avoirpréalablement vérifié la performance. La rallongedoit avoir une section minimum de 1 mm2 et êtreéquipée d’une fiche tripolaire.

Mise en service et utilisation

Danger !

Ne mettez jamais la machine en marche si ellen’est pas remplie d’eau et de café en grains.

Sortez du tiroir de marcs à café (1) la mesurettepour le café moulu, le pinceau de nettoyage etla clé pour le groupe de distribution et rangez-lesdans un endroit accessible.

Rallongez le câble d’alimentation (5) à l’arrièrede l’appareil de la longueur nécessaire pouratteindre la prise.

30Enlevez le couvercle (15) et remplissez le réservoirde café en grains (300g environ), puis remettezle couvercle à sa place. Réglez la finesse demouture au moyen du levier de réglage (17) surla position 5 de l’échelle graduée.

PURGE DU CIRCUIT 63 SÉLECTION DES ARTICLES DANS LE MENU62réservoir à café en grains, vous risqueriez sinond’endommager l’appareil.

Avant de verser le café en grains dans sonréservoir, contrôlez que le récipient de café moulu(14) soit bien fermé, de façon à ce que des grainsde café n’y tombent pas. Cela pourrait causer degraves dommages à l’appareil.

Retirez le réservoir d’eau (11), enlevez lecouvercle (12) et remplissez-le d’eau froide (2,4litres environ). Une soupape placée au fond duréservoir empêche la sortie d’eau.

Avant de remettre le réservoir d’eauà sa place, vérifiez que le couvercledu réservoir de café en grains soitaussi bien mis à sa place.

31Remettez le réservoir d’eau à sa place, puisexercez encore une légère pression pourprovoquer l’encliquetage de la soupape. Celle-ci s’ouvrira ainsi automatiquement. Placez lecouvercle sur le réservoir.

Ne dépassez pas le niveau maximum deremplissage.

Versez toujours de l’eau froide dans le réservoir.De l’eau chaude ou très chaude, ainsi que toutautre liquide pourraient endommager l’appareil.

Ne mettez jamais l’appareil en marche sans eau.Assurez-vous, avant toute utilisation, qu’ il y aitsuffisamment d’eau dans le réservoir.

allumer d’abord la machine. et appuyer ensuitesur la touche ENT ( café moulu), que vousdevez tenir appuyée jusqu’à ce que l’écranaffiche les premières deux lignes du mode deprogrammation :

Au bout de la ligne une astérisque clignotera ;elle peut être déplacée de haut en bas au moyendes flèches (café long ou normal).Si l’astérisque se trouve sur le premier menu, enappuyant sur la touche , elle se déplace surle dernier menu. (Contrairement si l’astérisque setrouve sur le dernier menu, en appuyant latouche , elle se déplace sur le premier menu).

Pour sortir du Mode de programmation, appuyersur la touche ESC ( café expresso). La machinese trouve à nouveau dans le mode normal.

Sélection des menusLes menus se sélectionnent à l’aide des touches

. Avec la touche ENT vous activez lemenu sélectionné. A l’intérieur d’un menu, il estpossible de modifier la programmation au moyendes touches . Par la touche ENT se mémorise laprogrammation choisie, par exemple laprogrammation ENCLENCHÉE relative à lafonction plaque chauffante.

En cas d’erreur pendant la modification d’une valeuravec les touches , il est possible de sortir dece menu en appuyant la touche ESC ( caféexpresso). La nouvelle valeur ne sera pas mémorisée.

Sélection de la langueAu moyen des touches amener l’astérisqueen fin de ligne jusqu’au menu LANGUE. Pouractiver le menu, utiliser la touche ENT.Sur l’écran sera affiché le message suivant :

Fonction de rinçageSi la fonction de rinçage est activée, la cafetière,quand elle est allumée après une périoded’inactivité, commence automatiquement unrinçage avec eau aux parts intéressées à ladistribution du café.Au moyen des touches , amenerl’astérisque à l’article RINÇAGE. Pour activerl’article utiliser la touche ENT.L’écran affichera:

Réglage du degré de dureté de l’eauPour procéder au réglage du degré de dureté del’eau, il faut d’abord le mesurer au moyen de la bandede test fournie avec l’appareil. Trempez une bandebrièvement (1 seconde environ) dans l’eau, puiségouttez-la légèrement. Vous pourrez lire le résultat dutest après une minute d’attente.Au moyen des touches , amenez l’astérisque

Branchez la machine et mettez-la en marche. Ledisplay montrera :

La pompe s’enclenche automati-quement. Attendez jusqu’à ce que de l’eaus’écoule en flux régulier puis appuyez denouveau sur la touche eau chaude. Votremachine expresso est maintenant purgée etprête pour l’emploi. L’écran affiche :

TimerCette fonction permet l’arrêt de la machine aprèsun délai préétabli. Les délais possibles vont d’unquart d’heure à 12 heures.Le comptage du temps commence à partir de ladernière émission de produit. Si après quelquessecondes a lieu une nouvelle émission de café,le timer effectue une remise à zéro et recommencele comptage. Si la valeur établie est égale à zéro(0 : 00), la fonction n’est pas activée.

Avec les touches , amener l’astérisque enfin de ligne sur le menu compteur... Avec latouche ENT vous activez le menu choisi.Avec les touches , la valeur peut êtremodifiée. Par la touche ENT vous mémorisez lanouvelle valeur. Cycle de lavageL’appareil est doté d’un programme de lavagequi complète le lavage habituel, quotidien ethebdomadaire. Ce programme, s’il est utilisérégulièrement, permet d’éliminer efficacement lagraisse du café dans les parties généralementinaccessibles et évite toute altération dans legoût du café.Selon la fréquence d’utilisation de l’appareil,nous vous conseillons d’effectuer le lavage unefois par mois, ou au moins tous les 250 cafés.Le programme de lavage dure environ 5 minutes.Il est subdivisé en 4 cycles, y compris le rinçageà l’eau claire. Entre les cycles il y a de brèvespauses d’environ 40 secondes.

Le programme de lavage ne doit jamais êtreinterrompu.

Important: Avant d’effectuer le programmede lavage, vous devez remplir entièrement leréservoir à eau et mettre un récipient de grandecapacité (1 litre au minimum) sous la buse desortie café (cette buse est réglable en hauteur oupeut être enlevée pour le nettoyage).Pour le lavage il vous faut environ 1 litre d’eau(y compris pour le rinçage). Ne modifiez la finesse de la mouture que

évitez les réglages extrêmes sur la graduation,par exemple la position 1. Il vaut mieux essayerplutôt une autre sorte de café, car tous lesmélanges ne conviennent pas.

Choix du caféN’utilisez que du café frais et des mélanges pourcafé expresso.Pour obtenir un expresso fort et parfumé, n’utilisezque du mélange de café spécial pour machineexpresso et employez des tasses à expresso àparois épaisses. Il est recommandé de conserverle café au frais et à l’abri de l’air.

Durée de fonctionnementVotre machine expresso peut sans inconvénientrester allumée en permanence. Dans ce cas, nousvous recommandons toutefois de la régler surl’économie d’énergie, après la dernière utilisation.Appuyez sur la touche “économie énergie”. Enprogrammant le timer, la machine se remettra enservice automatiquement. (Voir à la page 17)En cas d’inactivité prolongée (par exemplependant la nuit), il vaut mieux débrancher lamachine par l’interrupteur général (4).

Préparation du café

La machine Royal Profi dispose de 2 systèmes dechauffage qui peuvent fonctionner individuellementet qui permettent de faire simultanément café et eauchaude ou café et vapeur ou bien café et cappuccinoSi vous faites deux cafés, actionnant simultanémentl’eau chaude, la vapeur ou le cappuccino, il sepeut que la mouture de la deuxième dose de cafésoit interrompue. La deuxième dose de café est

chaude pour préparer du thé, du bouillon, etc.

Dispositif de contrôle automatique dela températureCe dispositif a pour fonction de régler latempérature du café, de l’eau chaude, et de lavapeur. Si la température de l’eau est tropélevée, la préparation du café est bloquée aumoyen d’un thermostat de sécurité et d’uneprotection contre les surchauffes.Détecteur de caillouxMême le café en grains de la meilleure qualitépeut contenir quelques cailloux. Nettoyage / Rangement /Entretien

NettoyageLe nettoyage fréquent de la machine vous garantitun café de la meilleure qualité et la longévité dela machine.

Avant les opérations de nettoyage, éteindre etdébrancher la machine.Attendre que la machine soit froide avant decommencer à la nettoyer.

Ne jamais immerger la machine dans l’eau oudans d’autres l iquides. Cela pourraitl’endommager sérieusement.

Ne jamais mettre les éléments de la machinedans le lave-vaisselle !

Essuyez toujours à la main les éléments de lamachine. Ne les mettez absolument pas dans lefour ou dans le four à micro-ondes !

Réservoir d’eau / Bac d’égouttement / Tiroir àmarc / Groupe de distribution / Machine

39Pour maintenir propres le logement de service etle groupe de distribution (22), nous vousrecommandons de vider tous les jours le tiroir àmarc (1), en fonction de vos exigences.

Lavez périodiquement le réservoir d’eau (11), lebac d’égouttement (2), la grille égouttoir (3) et letiroir à marc (1) avec un détergent non abrasif,et essuyez-les soigneusement.

38Avec cette machine à café, vous pouvez sansproblème préparer un vrai cappuccino italiengrâce au nouveau cappuccinatore.Introduire le tube d’aspiration (26) ducappuccinatore (25) dans un carton de lait ou unautre récipient. Pour éviter la déformation ducarton de lait, faites un trou en haut pourpermettre à l’air d’entrer.Mettez la tasse sous le tube de distribution etappuyez sur la touche cappuccino.La consistance de la mousse du cappuccino peutêtre modifiée en faisant tourner la valve de l’air(28).Note: Utilisez de préférence du lait à faibleteneur en graisse (1,5 %).

Pour une meilleure distribution du café crème nepas actionner la vapeur.

Nettoyage du cappuccinatore :Remplissez un récipient d’eau (à la place du lait),mettez-le sous le cappuccinatore et faites-lefonctionner jusqu’à ce que le récipient soit vide.De cette façon, un nettoyage parfait et l’hygiènedu cappuccinatore sont garantis pour lesutilisations suivantes.

Dispositifs de sécurité intégrés

Désactivation automatiqueLorsque la porte de service est ouverte, lamachine s’arrête automatiquement et vous nepouvez pas la mettre en marche. Si le groupe de

chiffon humide immédiatement après chaqueemploi. Sinon les traces de lait, par exemple,deviennent difficiles à enlever par la suite.

En tournant le bouton vapeur (9) l’écran affichera :

Dirigez la buse eau chaude / vapeur (7) sur lagrille égouttoir (3) et ouvrez légèrement le robinet(9) dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d’une montre.

Attendez que l’eau résiduelle dans la buse soitsortie complètement. Tournez ensuite la buseeau chaude / vapeur vers l’extérieur et plongez-le dans le liquide à chauffer.37Ouvrez lentement le robinet vapeur au maximumet chauffez le liquide avec des mouvementscirculaires de bas en haut.

Après avoir chauffé la boisson, refermez lerobient et nettoyez toute de suite la buse avec unchiffon humide.Attention: La buse est chaude : danger debrûlures !

Si vous n’utilisez plus la vapeur, dirigez la buseeau chaude / vapeur vers la grille égouttoir.

CappuccinoEn appuyant la touche café crème l’écranaffichera:

Si la programmation du cappuccino est activée,seulement la quantité programmée seradistribuée,sinon la distribution continuera jusqu’àce que vous appuyiez une seconde fois sur latouche de sélection du cappuccino.Pour programmer la quantité de cappuccino, tenirappuyée la touche pour la sélection du cappucci-no. Après environ 3 secondes la pompe entre en

De temps en temps, nettoyez la machine à l’aided’un chiffon humide, ensuite essuyer.

En cas de besoin, nettoyez le récipient du cafémoulu (14) avec le pinceau de dotation.

Groupe de distributionNettoyez le groupe de distribution (22) à chaqueremplissage du réservoir de café en grains,minimum une ou deux fois par semaine.Eteindre la machine en appuyant sur l’interrupteurd’alimentation (4) et ouvrir la porte de service(19). Enlevez d’abord le tiroir à marc (1).

41Enlevez le groupe de distribution (22) en lesaisissant par la poignée prévue à cet effet etappuyez sur l’inscription PRESS.

Le groupe de distribution doit être rincéeseulement avec de l’eau chaudev sansdétergent.Faites attention à ce que les deux filtres en acierchromé soient complètement dépourvus derésidus de café.

42Enlevez le filtre supérieur pour le nettoyer. Utilisezla clé en dotation pour dévisser la vis dans le sensinverse des aiguilles d’une montre. Ensuite essuyeztous les éléments du groupe de distribution,remontez le filtre et fixez la vis avec la clé.

43Retirez le tiroir à poudre (23) pour le nettoyer.N’utilisez que des détergents non abrasifs.Nettoyez soigneusement le logement de service

et introduisez de nouveau le tiroir à poudre.

44Remettez le groupe de distribution en place enle tenant par la poignée prévue jusqu’à ce qu’ils’enclenche. Refermez ensuite la porte de service.Réintroduisez le tiroir à marc.

Au moment d’introduire le groupe dedistribution, évitez absolumentd’appuyer sur l’inscription PRESS (vousrisquez d’endommager l’appareil !)

Attention : Si le groupe de distribution n’estpas introduit correctement, le display afficheraLa machine se bloque et ne donne pas de café.

Moulin à café

N’introduisez pas d’eau dans le moulin à café: la machine pourrait être endommagée !

45Si les grains à café restent collés au réservoir,celui-ci doit être nettoyé. Débranchez la machine.Enlevez tous les grains de café du réservoir etdesserrez les deux vis. Maintenant le réservoirpeut être enlevé pour le nettoyage.

46Tirez attentivement le levier de réglage vers lehaut.

47Faites tourner vers la gauche la bague de réglagejusqu’à ce que les marques bleues coïncident.

48Maintenant il est possible de retirer de la machine,en tirant vers le haut par de légers mouvements,

le support de la bague de mouture.

49Nettoyez avec un pinceau ou un aspirateur lelogement du moulin et le support de la bague demouture. Faites attention à ne pas déplacer labague de réglage.

Pour l’assemblage, suivre la même méthode ensens inverse et assurez-vous que la bague deréglage ne se soit pas tournée pendant lenettoyage. Dans le cas contraire, faites tournerla bague de réglage jusqu’à faire coïncider lamarque bleue avec une des trois encoches.Montez le support de la bague de mouture etfaites attention à ce que les marques bleuescoïncident entre elles.

50Faites tourner de gauche à droite la bague deréglage jusqu’à ce que les marques rougescoïncident entre elles.

51Déplacez le levier sur la bague de réglage defaçon à ce que le degré de mouture soit sur laposition 6.

Cappuccinatore52Pour un nettoyage rapide du cappuccinatore,immerger de temps en temps le tube d’aspirationdans de l’eau chaude et mettre en marche lecappuccinatore qui, de cette façon, se nettoiegrâce à la vapeur et à l’eau chaude.Pour un nettoyage plus complet, démontez lecappuccinatore et ouvrez le couvercle (29).Nettoyez la partie externe avec de l’eau chaude,et rincez-le avec de l’eau propre.

DétartrageAttention: L’opération de détartragedoit se faire seulement lorsque les

différents éléments de l’appareil nesont pas chauds.

Le détartrage sert à enlever les incrustations decalcaire dans toutes les surfaces ainsi que dansles trous, tout en garantissant la performance dessoupapes, des commandes de chauffage et desautres éléments importants.Note: vu la complexité du circuit hydrauliquede la machine à café, les suivants cycles dedétartrage (automatique et conventionnel) nepeuvent concerner tous les tuyaux.En effet, sont exclues les pièces d’unaccès facile comme le groupe dedistribution (22) et son pivot en plastique.

La machine doit être détartrée tous les 3-4 mois,selon le degré de dureté de l’eau. Dans lesrégions où l’eau est riche en calcaire, nousconseillons un détartrage plus fréquent.Pour faciliter l’opération, cette machine a étééquipée d’un indicateur de contrôle

Lorsque ce message est affiché, le détartragedoit ê tre absolument fait, même si lefonctionnement peut sembler regulier.De plus, il est possible d’ajuster l’indicateur àpartir de la dureté de l’eau que vous utilisez. Lamachine a été réglée par la fabrique sur unevaleur d’environ 25 ÚH.Cela entraîne l’apparition de l’indicateur“Détartrage” après environ 150 litres.Pour changer la valeur de dureté de l’eau,procédez comme l’indique la page 9.

Tous les réglages suivants sont possibles :Dureté 4 : supérieure à 29° ÚH (14° dH), undétartrage à peu prés tous les 80 litres d’eau.Dureté 3 : d’env. 20° à 29° ÚH (7°-14°dH),

N’employez pasde vinaigre, il pourrait endommagerla machine.

Pour détartrer la machine, vous pouvez procéderde deux façons:

Détartrage conventionnelQuand la machine est débranchée, versez leliquide décalcifiant dans le réservoir d’eau(conformément aux instructions indiquées sur laboîte d’emballage). Mettez un récipient au-dessous de la buse eau chaude / vapeur,enclenchez la machine et appuyez sur la touche“eau chaude”. Faites sortir le liquide décalcifiantde la buse pendant 1 minute environ.Appuyez de nouveau sur la touche eau chaudepour arrêter le débit de l’eau. Eteindre lamachine et laisser agir le liquide décalcifiantpendant env. 5 minutes. Répéter la mêmeopération deux ou trois fois, jusqu’à ce que leréservoir soit complètement vidé au moyen dela buse.Après le détartrage, rincez le réservoir d’eau(11) et remplissez-le d’eau. Stockage

Unpacking/installation

Standard packing is strong enough to protect themachine during mail shipping. Keep this packageto return the machine to the manufacturer,whenever necessary.

Before installing the machine, keep to the safetyindications at page 83.

Whenever possible, use the machine with swivel(24). When installing the machine, make surethe swivel is always fitted in the provided area onthe lower side of the machine.

Power supply connection

Warning: electric current may cause d e a t h !Always keep to safety rules.

The coffee machine must be connected to anadequate socket. Voltage must suit to the voltagespecified on the appliance rating plate.

Never use defective power cords! Defectivepower cords and plugs must be replaced by anauthorised personnel.

Should an extension cord be used, check itsperfect conditions. The extension cord must havea minimum section of 1 mm2 and must besupplied with a three-pole plug/socket.

Starting and use

Parts under current shall never be incontact with water: danger of short-circuit! Overheated steam and hotwater may cause burns. Do not directsteam or water jet towards the body;furthermore, great attention must begiven when touching either the steam/hot water spout or the heating plate:danger of burns!

Never use the machine without water or coffeebeans.

Remove measuring spoon, brush and the centralunit key from the coffee grounds container (1)and keep them within reach.

Unwind the power cord (5) from the rear side ofthe machine.

30Remove the cover (15) and fill the container withcoffee beans (300 g approx.), then, replace thecover. Adjust grinding by means of the grindadjustment lever (17), positioning it on point “5”of the scale.

Never fill the coffee bean container with otherproducts since they might damage the machine!

Reset the counters by pressing the cappuccinoselection key .

Washing cycleThis appliance is equipped with a rinsing cycleprogram for the usual, daily and weekly rinsing.If regularly used, this program effectively elimi-nates the greasiness of coffee in inaccessibleparts and avoids alterations in the taste ofcoffee.Depending on the way the appliance is used, itis advisable to rinse it every month or after max.250 cups of coffee. The rinsing cycle lasts about5 minutes, and it is divided into 4 cycles,including the rinsing with cold water. Each cycleis followed by a short pause of about 40seconds.

Never stop the rinsing cycle.

Important: before starting the rinsing cycle,always fill completely the water tank and put acapacious container (min. 1 litre) under thecoffee dispensing unit, which is height-adjust-able and can be removed for cleaning.

The rinsing cycle needs about 1 litre of water(including final rinsing). From time to time, emptythe water tank.

By using the keys move the asterisk to themenu item WASHING CYCLE. To enable thismenu item use the ENT key.The following message appears on the display:

"WASCHING CYCLE "

This function starts the rinsing cycle with water ofthose parts concerned with the coffee dispens-ing. When the rinsing cycle ends, the followingmessage appears on the display:

Dosage of ground coffee33The coffee dosage adjustment lever (18) allows theselection of the grinding coffee amount from 6 to 9grams. Place lever (18) on the required position.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Prolonged idlenessIf the machine hasn’t been used for a prolongedperiod, it is advisable for hygienic reasons to runa rinse cycle through the machine.

Place a cup under the steam/hot water spout (7)and fill it with water by operating the hot waterknob.

Preheating cupsCups may be preheated by placing them on thespecial cup heating plate.

Temperature ledWhen starting the machine, the following

message is displayed:

Grind adjustmentIf the coffee flows too quickly (coarse grind) or tooslowly (fine grind) into the cup, adjust coffee grinder.The recommended grind level is position 5.

Should grinding be too coarse, adjust it on a

lower value (e.g. from 5 to 3). On the contrary,should grinding be too fine, adjust it on a highervalue (e.g. from 5 to 7).

Adjust the grind level only when the coffeegrinder is running. Avoid any extreme adjustment(for instance on position 1) whenever possible.It is preferable to try another coffee blend, sincenot all coffee blends are suitable.

Coffee blendsMake sure coffee is fresh. An espresso roast ispreferable.In order to obtain a strong and aromatic espres-so coffee, use special blends suitable for espres-so coffee machines and special cups with thicksides.Keep coffee in a cool place, in an hermeticallysealed container.

Operation timeThe machine may be kept on all day long.However, in case of a prolonged period ofidleness, it is advisable to enable the energysaving function by pressing the standby switch. If the timer is properly programmed, thisoperation is automatic: for this purpose, seepage 88.In case of a prolonged period of idleness, it isadvised to switch the main switch (4) off; onceswitched on again, the machine will be readyto be used within two minutes.Switching off the machineSwitch the machine off only after the coffee cyclehas been concluded.

To set the quantity of coffee to be dispensed, itis necessary to press the relevant selection keytill the desired quantity of coffee is obtained(max. 250 ml approx.).During this operation, the following message isdisplayed:

The machine considers automatically thenecessary amounts to brew two cups of coffee.

Attention! If the pre-brewing function is enabledduring the cups dosage adjustment, keep theselected key pressed even during the pump stopuntil the desired amount is reached.

Double quantity of coffee or 2 cups ofcoffeeBy pressing one of the three selection keys twice,before coffee dispensing begins, the machinewill brew a double portion of coffee.

Coffee grinding34This machine grinds a portion of fresh coffee foreach cup; for two cups, it grinds two portions ofcoffee, one after the other, thus ensuring optimumcoffee quality.

Adjust the grinding degree according to theinstructions mentioned at page 90.

Adjust the grinding degree only when the coffeegrinder is running.

Hot water dispensingHot water dispensing is accomplished throughan independent water circuit which ensures thecorrect temperature and supplies tasteless hotwater to be used for tea, soup, etc.

Press the hot water key, the display will show:

During hot water dispensing, only theprogrammed amount is dispensed if thecorresponding programming is enabled. On thecontrary, dispensing should be stopped bypressing again the selection key when the desiredamount is reached.

To program the hot water amount, it is necessaryto keep the corresponding selection key pressedtill the desired amount is reached.

Attention: hot water can only beprogrammed if the correspondingprogramming function is enabled (seepage 87).

During the programming phase, the followingmessage will be displayed:

36Place a glass or cup under the steam/hot waterspout (7), then press the hot water selection key.Hot water will be automatically dispensed.

Steam dispensingTo heat milk or other drinks.

Always clean the spout with a damp cloth soon

after the use; otherwise, it might be difficult toremove milk residues.

Turn the steam knob (9), the display will show:

"STEAM "

Direct steam/hot water spout (7) on cup holdergrill (3) and slightly open knob (9), turning itcounterclockwise.Wait until the remaining water has flown out ofthe spout. Then, move the spout outwards andplunge it deeply into the fluid to be heated.

37Slowly open the steam/hot water knob and heatthe fluid, with a circular movement from thebottom to the top.When the fluid has reached the desired tempe-rature, close the knob and immediately clean thespout with a damp cloth.Attention: the spout is hot, it may cause burns!

CappuccinoThrough the special Cappuccinatore, thismachine can brew a real cappuccino withoutany problem.Press the Cappuccino key, the display will show:

INCORPORATEDSAFETY DEVICES

During the cappuccino dispensing, only theprogrammed amount is dispensed if thecorresponding programming is enabled. On thecontrary, dispensing should be stopped bypressing again the selection key when the desiredcappuccino amount has been reached.To program the cappuccino amount, it isnecessary to keep the corresponding selection

Coffee dispensingPlace one or two preheated cups on the cupholdergrill (3) under the dispenser (6). By pressing therelevant selection key, the machine willautomatically dispense the selected coffee.

Dispensing may be interrupted by pressing oneof the coffee selection keys, if an excessive wateramount has been selected. Should you interruptthe coffee flow after the first of two coffees, thesecond is not dispensed.

Pre-ground coffee

Make sure to use pre-ground coffee only (mediumground). Never use whole beans or solublecoffee.

Right before brewing coffee, fill the containerwith freshly ground coffee. For best results, makesure coffee blend is fresh.Remember that ground coffee ages soon, thuslosing its quality!

35Important!Use the measuring spoon supplied to fill thecontainer (14) with a single portion of groundcoffee! Use a full measure only.

To dispense coffee, press pre-ground coffee button and the desired selection key (large coffee,

coffee, small coffee) to obtain a cup of coffee.

Important! This function does not allow thedouble coffee cycle.

Dispensing may be interrupted by pressing oneof the coffee selection keys, if an excessive wateramount has been selected.

38For cappuccino dispensing, fit suction pipe (26) ofthe Cappuccinatore (25) in a milk container or inanother container. To prevent milk containerdeformation, pierce it on the top to allow air entry.Place the cup under dispenser (27) and press thecappuccino selection key.Cappuccino dispensing can be adjusted by turningthe special Cappuccinatore adjustment valve (28).Note: it is suggested to use milk with low fatamounts (1.5%).

For a better cappuccino dispensing, do notactivate the steam (9).

Cappuccinatore cleaningLet the Cappuccinatore drain a full water containerafter each cappuccino dispensing: in this way,the device will be perfectly cleaned.Incorporated safety devices

Automatic offShould the service door be open, the machineautomatically switches off. If the central unit is notmounted, only water and steam can bedispensed.

Electronic grinding time controlAs soon as the coffee bean container is empty,grinding automatically stops after 20 secondsapprox. Fill the container with coffee beans, asshown at page 86.

Electronic pump controlThe machine switches off automatically as soonas the water in the tank is under the minimum level

checked by a special water level indicator (73).Fill the tank according to the procedure shown atpage 86.

Electronic temperature adjustmentSaid adjustment controls the correct temperature tobrew coffee and to dispense hot water and steam.Coffee brewing is automatically interrupted shouldthe water temperature be excessive (safetythermostat and overheating safety deviceactivated).

Antigravel deviceEven selected coffees may contain impurities.To avoid damages, the coffee grinder is fittedwith an antigravel device against impurities.Should gravel end up into the coffee grinder, youwill hear a strong and characteristic noise. Stopthe machine immediately otherwise the machinewill automatically stop within 20 seconds thanksto the special electronic protection system.Important: Do not start the machine beforethe foreign body has been removed, otherwisethe motor may be damaged. Procedures: seepage 85, points 45-49.

Cleaning and maintenanceoperations

General cleaningTo ensure a good coffee quality and a longerworking life, always keep the machine clean.

Before cleaning the machine, turn off the mainswitch, unplug the machine and wait until itcools down.

Do not immerse the machine into water or otherfluids: it may be irreparably damaged!

Do not wash parts of the machine in thedishwasher!

Always handdry all parts of the machine, do notdry them in the oven or microwave oven!

Water tank, drip tray, coffee groundscontainer and coffee dispenser39In order to keep the service area and the centralunit (22) clean, daily empty the coffee groundscontainer (1), after machine use.

The water tank (11), drip tray (2), cup holder grill(3) and coffee grounds container (1) should bewashed periodically, using a non-abrasive solventand drying them carefully.

40Coffee dispenser (4) may be removed for cleaningoperations. Unloose the screws and rinse thedispensing tube thoroughly with hot water.

From time to time, clean the machine casing witha damp cloth and dry it.

Clean pre-ground coffee container (14) with theaid of the brush supplied, whenever necessary.

Central unitClean central unit (22) whenever the coffeebean container is filled, or at least once a week.

Switch off the machine and open service door(19). Remove grounds coffee container (1).

41Remove central unit (22), by holding the handleand shortly pressing the PRESS key.

Wash the central unit with hot water; do notuse any solvent.

42Make sure there are no coffee residues on thetwo steel filters: the upper filter can be removedby unloosening and turning the plastic pinanticlockwise using the tool supplied.Dry thoroughly each central unit component, fitthe filter again and tighten it properly with thescrew .

43Remove coffee rest drawer (23) and clean it,using a non-abrasive solvent.Clean the service area thoroughly and fit thecoffee rest drawer again.

44By holding the central unit by its handle, slide itback into its original position, making sure it iscorrectly engaged. Then close the door. Fit thecoffee grounds container again.

When fitting the central unit, do notpress “PRESS” button: it may causeirreparable damages to the machine!

Warning: if the central unit is not correctlyfitted, the following message will be displayed:

"BREW UNIT MISS "

The machine cannot dispense coffee.

Coffee grinder

Never fill the coffee grinder with water: it mayirreparably damage the machine!

DESCALING9945Clean the coffee beans container periodically;this operation should be accomplishedby a qualified technician! Unplug themachine.Empty the coffee container and unloose the twofastening screws. Now, the container can beremoved and cleaned.

46Carefully pull the adjustment lever upwards,previously writing the set grinding degree.

47Turn the adjustment ring counterclockwise, untilthe blue marks coincide.

48Now, it is possible to remove the grinding ringfrom the machine, slightly pulling it upwards.

49With the aid of a brush or a narrow vacuum hose,clean both the gear box and the grind ringsupport.Make sure the position of the grind ring does not shift.

To reassemble the coffee grinder, carry out thereverse sequence, making sure the adjustmentring has not been shifted during cleaning. If thatis the case, turn it until the blue mark coincide withone of the three notches.Assemble the grind ring support and make surethe blue marks coincide.

50Turn the adjustment ring clockwise, to make thered marks coincide.

51Fit the adjustment lever on the ring, until itcoincides with the previously set grinding degree.

100Cappuccinatore52To quickly clean the cappuccinatore, immersethe suction pipe into warm water and let waterflow through it.For a more accurate cleaning, remove thecappuccinatore and open cover (29). Clean theoutside part with warm water and rinse it withcleaned water.

Descaling

Warning: The descaling operationsmus be carried out when the machinecomponents are cold.Descaling removes limescale from all surfacesand holes, thus ensuring a perfect operation ofvalves, heating controls and other importantparts.

Note: due to the complexity of the coffeemachine hydraulic circuit, the following descalingcycles (automatic and standard) do not allow thedescaling of all tubes.In fact, easily accessible componentssuch as the central unit (22) and itsplastic connection are excluded.

The machine must be descaled every 3-4 months,depending on the water hardness degree.A more frequent descaling is recommendedwherever the water hardness degree is very high.To avoid dangerous delays to users, this machineis supplied with a special control counter,reminding the user to perform this operation,according to the water hardness degree.In this case, the following message will bedisplayed:

"DESCALE "

When this message is displayed, the machinedoes not stop; however, it is suggested to

descale quickly the machine.To cancel the message, see programming menuindications, page 86.

The machine has been adjusted on a 25°òHvalue, which causes the warning light to switchon after 150 l approx.

Should it be necessary, the water hardness valuemay be exactly programmed, following theinstructions shown at page 88.

The following adjustments are possible:Hardness 4: high water hardness, over 29°òH(14°dH), i.e. 80 l water approx.Hardness 3:medium water hardness, approx.20-29°òH (7-14°dH), approx. 150 l waterpassage.Hardness 2:soft water, approx. 12-20°òH(4-7°dH) approx. 300 l water passageHardness 1:very soft water, less than 10°òH(3°dH), approx. 500 l water passage

In hard water regions, a filter should be usedboth to improve the coffee quality or to protectthe machine, thus reducing the descalingfrequency.

Note: for this purpose, use a descaling productsuitable for coffee machines.Never use vinegar!Descaling can be performed in two ways:

Automatic descalingSelect this mode in the programming menu (seepage 90).By means of keys , move the asterisk atthe end of the line on the menu item Descalingand confirm the selection with the ENT key.The following message will be displayed:

"DESCALING "

Pour a discaling solution into the water tank(according to the instructions on the productpackage). Switch the machine on the programmingmode. Place a large container under the steam/hot water spout and open slowly the steam knob.The automatic descaling starts: Small amounts ofdescaling solution are pumped into the circuit.Then the pump stops to let the solution take effect.During this phase, the following message isdisplayed:

"MACHINE IS "

"DESCALING "

After approx. 45 minutes, when the procedure isaccomplished, the following message will bedisplayed:

"DESCALING "

"FINISHED "

Close the steam knob. The pump stops.Press ENT button. A display message remindsyou to rinse away any possible descaling residuesfrom the machine.

"RINSE MACHINE "

Remove water tank, rinse it accurately and fill itwith fresh water. Turn the steam knob slowly onand let all the contents come out. The followingmessage will be displayed:

"RINSING "

"FINISHED "

Close the steam knob. Go back to programmingfunction by pressing the ENT key.

Note: By pressing the ESC key (hot water key),it is possible to quit descaling procedure.

Standard descalingSwitch off the machine. Pour a descaling solutioninto the water tank (according to the instructionson the product package). Place a large containerunder the steam/hot water spout (7). Switch themachine on by pressing the main switch, pressthe hot water key and let the descaling solutionin the water tank pour out of the spout for 1 minuteapprox.

Press hot water key to complete the operation.Switch the machine off and let the solution takingeffect for 5 minutes approx. Repeat this procedu-re two or three times, to empty the water tank.

As soon as descaling has been performed, rinsethe water tank (11) thoroughly and fill it with fresh

water.Switch on the machine again and let water (2l approx.) flow out of the steam/hot waterdispensing tube in order to rinse away residues.

Important:A periodic descaling ensures a correct machinefunctioning and avoids expensive repairs. Themachine warranty does not cover damagesoccurring as a result of the non-observance ofdescaling procedures, improper use and non-observance of any other instruction containedherein. Maintain the manufacturer’s adjustment ifthe water hardness degree is not known.

DisposalMachines which are no longer operationalshould immediately be made non serviceable,by cutting the power cord. Machines should bedelivered to a public disposal centre.Switch off and unplug the machine if it will not beused for long periods.Cut the supply power cord and deliver themachine to a public collecting point.

Should the machine not be used anymore,switch it off and unplug it.

Keep the machine in a dry place, far from thereach of children.Should the machine not be used for a longperiod, keep it from dust and dirt

MaintenancePeriodically check the machine working andclean it in accordance to the instructions.

Troubleshooting

In case of failure, fault or suspected damagefollowing a fall, unplug the machine immediately.

To fix problems, follow the instructions in thetable. Otherwise contact authorised personnel.Only skilled personnel are authorised to repairthe machine. The user might incur serious injuriesshould repairs not be properly carried out.The manufacturer declines any liabilitywhatsoever, should repairs fail to be carried outaccording to the instructions contained in thismanual: Furthermore in these cases warrantyrights cannot be honored.
