Leviathan is a speech choir competition open to all public and private high schools and colleges, and community-based groups. This aims to enhance youth’s creativity and promote sustainable tourism through choral elocution.

CONTEST GUIDELINES

• Open to all high school and college groups and community-based groups

• 25-30 members [optional 5 alternates/reserve]

• 11-21 years old as of February 6, 2012

GROUP

Requirements:

• send list of group members to [email protected]

• Registration fee of Php 1,000.00

*confirmation shall be sent on or before November 30, 2011

APPLICATION

A minimum of 10 to a maximum of 15 participating groups are expected.

This is on a first-come-first-serve basis.

PARTICIPATING GROUPS

• The official contest piece is Tinig ng Darating ni Teo S. Baylen

• Venue is Cine Adarna, University of the Philippines Film Institute

• Competition is on February 6, 2012

• Groups are given 5-10 minutes to perform. One point shall be deducted for every exceeding minute

• Use appropriate make-up

• Props are allowed given that no junk will be left on stage which may cause problems to the group performing after.

• Coaching while the group is performing is not allowed. Not following may lead to disqualification.

• Technical effects such as sounds player, CD, iPod,

etc are not allowed. However, percussion instruments, ethnic instruments, tunog-tao are allowed.

• The contest piece should be memorized.

• Each group is given 60 tickets. All 60 tickets are considered sold. Tickets are priced P120 each, but is given to the group at a discounted price of P100. You may sell your tickets at any price you want—this is your opportunity to make money for your group. However, you will still remit P100 per ticket to the U.P. Tourism Management Society.

• Should the group require more tickets, we can still provide

them at the discounted price but should be done before the competition date.

• Remittances should be done on or before the competition

date (February 6, 2012).

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

• Rank system shall be used to arrange the groups and get the 2nd Runner-up, 1st Runner-up, and the Champion.

• In case of tie, the group with the higher average will get the title.

• Judges decision is final and irrevocable.

1st Runner-up Php 7,000 + Trophy + Certificate of Recognition
