TEATRO DELLAPERGOLA
With his bitter and ironic humour, Luigi De Filippo is the perfect director for this famous comedy, which is still fun today. It makes you think and surprises due to its topicality.
Orlando, Woolf’s ingenious creation, as a modern-day hero, encompasses his male and female sides because the search for happiness involves everyone in the same way and a better knowledge of the other may perhaps be the key
to reopen the gates of “paradise”.

MaggioDanza, with its principal guest dancer Alessandro Riga and Orchestra of Maggio, with the conducting debut of Andriy Yurkevych, once more offer Paul Chalmer’s innova-
tive interpretation of SWAN LAKE by Pëtr Il’ic Cajkovskij, which was a triumph at the last festival. The wonderful music of one of the most famous of classical ballets is aimed at telling the story of the life and loves of the tormented Russian musician and,
above all, at unravelling the enigma of his death: was he struck down by cholera, as the official line goes, or did he commit suicide, to hush up a sex scandal, as many people
now believe? Chalmer opts for the latter theory in a severe and gripping choreography, which offers a new interpretation of the best-loved moments of the superb score.
