La Fondazione E. di Mirafiore ha sede in un edificio all’interno della tenuta ed è stata costituita per perpetuare la memoria di Emanuele di Mirafiore.Si propone l’obiettivo di promuovere la crescita culturale attraverso la lettura e le pratiche di buona agricoltura, ma anche di attualizzare l’idea di Resistenza, adattandone il significato a nuove opportunità. A tale fine è stato attivato un “Laboratorio di Resistenza permanente”, con l’obiettivo di promuovere attività (incontri, reading, conferenze, presentazioni di libri e concerti) nell’ambito giuridico, filosofico, letterario, storico, scientifico, artistico, della comunicazione e dell’impegno civile (per informazioni: www.fondazionemirafiore. it). La sede della Fondazione comprende un piccolo teatro, un Ristoro e la Bottega-libreria.

Il Ristoro della Fondazione è un’elegante e luminosa vineria aperta tutti i giorni a pranzo, e offre - oltre al servizio di caffetteria - la possibilità di abbinare a un calice di vino o a una bottiglia anche solo un piatto fatto al momento, da scegliere tra quelli di giornata.

La Bottega del Vino consente invece ai visitatori di degustare e acquistare, oltre all’ampia gamma dei vini e degli spumanti Fontanafredda e Mirafiore, anche i vini e le cose buone della Distribuzione “Il vino e…” (per il catalogo completo: www.ilvinoe.it). Ma non solo: accanto ai vini e ai cibi anche i libri, cibi per l’anima, a disposizione per l’acquisto o anche solo per la semplice consultazione.

Ospitato in un edificio risalente ai primi anni del Novecento adiacente alla Villa Reale, un piccolo hotel composto da 11 camere consente di dare ospitalità a quanti vogliono trascorrere almeno una notte all’interno della Tenuta. Gli arredi, gli accostamenti di colori e i tessuti della Foresteria delle Vigne sono una sintesi di eleganza, pur senza rinunciare a quella semplicità che è propria di una struttura inserita in un contesto rurale. Jahrhunderts neben der Villa Reale und ist ein kleines Hotel mit 11 Zimmern, die all jenen zur Verfügung stehen, die gern einmal wenigstens eine Nacht auf diesem historischen Landgut verbringen möchten. Die Möbel, die Farbkombinationen und die Stoffe in den Zimmern der Foresteria delle Vigne sind eine Synthese der Eleganz, wobei aber sehr schön auch jene Schlichtheit zum Ausdruck kommt, die typisch ist für eine Struktur in einem landwirtschaftlichen Gefüge. In einer Atmosphäre der völligen Entspannung sind die Zimmer mit allem Komfort ausgestattet: Minibar, Fernseher, Haartrockner und Beauty-Set. Das Frühstück, das im ersten Stock des Hauses serviert wird, besteht aus einem kontinentalen Büffet.

The E. di Mirafiore Foundation is located in a historic building on the estate. It was set up to perpetuate the memory

of the natural son of Victor Emmanuel II and Countess Rosa, Emanuele di Mirafiore, the eclectic personality and enlightened wine entrepreneur who paved the way the commercial development of the company.The E. di Mirafiore Foundation sets out to promote cultural development through reading and good farming practices, as well as to update the idea of the Resistance, adapting its meaning and original scope to new threats and opportunities. A “Permanent Resistance Workshop” has been set up for this purpose, currently composed of eleven presidia set up to safeguard values in danger of extinction. Each presidium is coordinated by a Captain singled out among the most influential Italian intellectuals operating in the fields of law, philosophy, literature, history, science, art, communication and civic commitment (for further information and programs of activities: www.fondazionemirafiore.it). Er war eine vielseitige Persönlichkeit und ein illuminierter Weinbau-Unternehmer, der die kommerzielle Entwicklung des Landguts in die Wege leitete. Die Stiftung hat sich zur Aufgabe gesetzt, die kulturelle Entwicklung anhand von Lesungen und dem Betreiben einer „guten“ Landwirtschaft zu fördern, aber auch die Idee des Widerstands durch eine Anpassung ihrer Bedeutung und ihrer ursprünglichen Tragweite an neue Bedrohungen und Möglichkeiten zu aktualisieren. Zu diesem Zweck wurde eine „Werkstatt des permanenten Widerstands“ gegründet, die aus elf Förderkreisen (den so genannten Presìdi) zum Schutz jener vom Aussterben bedrohter Werte besteht. Jeder Förderkreise wird von einem Leiter koordiniert, der zu den angesehensten ita-lienischen Intellektuellen gehört. Das Restaurant der Stiftung ist eine elegante und helle Vineria, täglich mittags geöffnet, und bietet neben

dem Cafeteria-Service die Möglichkeit, ein gutes Glas oder eine gute Flasche Wein auch mit nur einem der Gänge des jeweili-gen Tagesmenüs, das immer frisch zube-reitet wird, zu kombinieren. Per chi arriva con l’autostrada Piacenza-Torino (A21) l’uscita consigliata è quella di Asti-Est, per poi proseguire sulla A33 in direzione Cuneo. L’autostrada A33 si trasforma poi in una superstrada che, costeggiando Alba in direzione Barolo Monforte, conduce allo svincolo per Serralunga d’Alba.

Per chi arriva con l’autostrada Torino-Savona (A6) l’uscita consigliata è quella di Marene-Cherasco. Si deve prose-guire sulla statale in direzione Bra per poi deviare a destra in direzione La Morra-Verduno. Alla rotonda di Pollenzo si svolta a destra e si prosegue sulla statale Roddi-Grinzane-Alba fino a incontrare la deviazione per Serralunga-Barolo.

To get to Fontanafredda from the A21 Piacenza-Turin motorway, take the Asti-Est exit and then the A33 towards Cuneo. The A33 motorway turns into a toll-free motorway; keep going and follow the signs towards Barolo-Monforte until the turning off for Serralunga d’Alba. From the A6 Turin-Savona motorway, take the Ma rene-Cherasco exit and follow the road towards Bra until you see a turning off to the right signposted La Morra-Verduno. In Pollenzo, turn right again at the roundabout, and follow the road Roddi-Grinzane-Alba until the turning off for Serralunga d’Alba-Barolo.

Anreise über die Autobahn Piacenza-Torino (A21): Wir empfehlen die Ausfahrt ASTI-EST zu benutzen und der Autobahn A33 in Richtung Cuneo zu folgen. Kurz vor Alba mündet die A33 in eine zweispurige Schnellstrasse, die an Alba vorbei und in Richtung Barolo-Monforte bis zur Abfahrt nach Serralunga d’Alba führt.Anreise über die Autobahn Torino-Savona (A6): Wir empfehlen,die Ausfahrt Marene-Cherasco zu benutzen. Weiterfahrt in Richtung Asti/Alba. Im Kreisverkehr von Pollenzo rechts halten und der Ausschilderung Roddi/Grinzane/ Alba bis zur Abfahrt nach Serralunga d’Alba/ Barolo folgen.

Pour ceux qui arrivent par l’autoroute Plaisance – Turin A21, il est conseillé de sortir à Asti Est pour continuer par l’autoroute A33, direction Cuneo. L’autoroute A33 devient ensuite une route-express qui côtoie le village d’Alba en direction de Barolo-Monforte jusqu’ à l’embrachement pour Serralunga d’Alba. Pour ceux qui arrivent par l’autoroute Turin-Savone A6 il est conseillé de sortir à Marene-Cherasco. Continuer sur la nationale en direction de Bra, prendre à droite en direction de La Morra-Verduno. Au rond-point de Pollenzo, tourner à droite et continuer sur la nationale Roddi-Grinzane - Alba jusqu’à l’embranchement pour Serralunga d’Alba - Barolo.

This is a picturesque tour of the winery’s majestic 19th-century cellars which are still used today

for the ageing of the great red wines of the Langhe. Amidst the grand oak casks and steel and concrete vats, the “Cantina del Re” (King’s Cellar), “Cattedrale” (Cathedral) and Mirafiore Rotunda will become familiar names where the secrets of the production of great quality wines will be revealed as they experience their delicate maturing in wood. Quality that starts out in the estate vineyards in the villages of Serralunga d’Alba, Diano d’Alba, Barolo and Murisengo. Eighty-five hectares in all, mostly planted with the traditional nebbiolo, barbera, dolcetto and moscato varieties, and worked without the use chemical fertilizers or weed-killers by adopting the most advanced integrated vine pest management techniques established by the European Union program for safeguarding the environment and reducing crop protection interventions. This large area only covers 15% of the company’s annual grape requirements though, so more than four hundred Piedmontese growers - whose loyalty to the company goes back generations - deliver their grapes to the winery each vintage.

Jahrhundert, die auch heute noch für den Ausbau der großen Rotweine der Langhe bestimmt sind: der „Keller des Königs“, die „Kathedrale“ und die „Rotonda Mirafiore“, vorbei an imposanten Eichenfässern, Stahl- und Zementbehältern. Die Besucher lernen neben den Produktionsstätten auch die Geheimnisse der großen Qualitätsweine und deren delikate Entwicklungsphasen kennen. Eine Qualität, die in den Weinbergen des Unternehmens in den Gemeinden Serralunga d’Alba, Diano d’Alba, Barolo und Murisengo ihren Ursprung hat. Alles in allem 85 Hektar, die vorwiegend mit den traditi-onellen Rebsorten Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto und Moscato bebaut sind und ohne chemische Dünge- und Unkrautbekämpfungsmittel bearbeitet werden, unter Anwendung der moderns-ten Techniken für kontrollierte und integ-rierte Schädlingsbekämpfung nach den Richtlinien der Europäischen Union für den Umweltschutz und für reduzierte Maßnahmen zum Pflanzenschutz.

Vous aurez ainsi la possibilité de connaître les lieux mais aussi les secrets de la production des grands vins de qualité, durant la phase très délicate du vieillissement en fût. Une qualité qui prend origine dans les vignobles de l’exploitation, qui se trouvent à Serralunga d’Alba, Diano d’Alba, Barolo et à Murisengo. Quatre-vingt-cinq hectares en tout, cultivés en majorité de variétés traditionnelles comme le nebbiolo, la barbera, le dolcetto et le muscat, sans fertilisants chimiques ni désherbants, et à l’aide des techniques les plus modernes de lutte raisonnée contre les parasites de la vigne. Une ample superficie qui ne couvre que 15% des besoins annuels en raisins de l’exploitation. C’est pourquoi, pendant les vendanges, près de quatre cents viticulteurs piémontais livrent leurs raisins à Fontanafredda, sur la base d’un rapport de confiance qui dure depuis des générations.

È un suggestivo percorso attraverso le maestose cantine ottocentesche aziendali, destinate ancora oggi all’affinamento dei grandi vini rossi delle Langhe. Così la Cantina del Re, la Cattedrale, la Rotonda Mirafiore diventeranno nomi familiari, tra imponenti botti di rovere e tini di acciaio e di cemento, con la possibilità di conoscere insieme ai luoghi anche i segreti della produzione dei grandi vini di qualità, in una fase molto delicata come quella dell’affinamento nel legno. Una qualità che parte dai vigneti dell’azienda, nei comuni di Serralunga d’Alba, Diano d’Alba, Barolo e Murisengo. Ottantacinque ettari in tutto, coltivati con le tradizionali varietà nebbiolo, barbera, dolcetto e moscato, senza l’uso di fertilizzanti chimici e di diserbanti, e con l’adozione delle più moderne tecniche di lotta guidata e integrata contro i parassiti della vite.

Il Garden del Lago è un padiglione completamente realizzato in ferro e vetro, in stile liberty, e si trova nel parco, di fronte al laghetto dei cigni. L’ampiezza della sala (fino a 250 coperti) è alleggerita dall’esile disegno del telaio metallico di sostegno, dalla trasparenza del vetro e dall’intensità della luce che filtra attraverso la diafana struttura. Il Garden del Lago può essere anche noleggiato per eventi privati. Luogo perfetto per cerimonie, cene di gala e attività di team building, ma anche ambiente informale per merende e grigliate.

The Royal Villa’s Garden of Lake is a Liberty-style glass pavilion standing opposite to the swan

lake, its extensive seating capacity (250 covers) is given a lighter feel by the slender design of the metal frame work, the transparency of the glass, and the brightness of the light that filters through the fine structure. The Garden of Lake can be rent for private events. It is the perfect place for ceremonies, gala dinners and team-building activities but it is also an informal pavilion for barbeques and aperitifs.

Il Bosco dei Pensieri è un percorso di meditazione e di contemplazione realizzato nell’ultimo bosco della Bassa Langa, tra piante secolari, vigneti e noccioleti. È un sentiero attrezzato e articolato in dodici tappe, con panchine per la sosta. Ogni tappa è accompagnata da due cartelli: il primo contiene una serie di citazioni celebri ispirate a un preciso tema (ad es. “il silenzio”, “il pensiero”, “la contemplazione”, “l’ascolto”, “la degustazione” etc.); il secondo rimanda invece a elementi paesaggistici rintracciabili nell’ambiente circostante.

The Wood of Thoughts is a trail of meditation and contemplation amidst centuries-old trees, vineyards

and hazelnut groves in the last wood remaining in the Lower Langhe. With benches provided along the way to stop off for a rest, the trail is set out in twelve stages, and each station is accompanied by two panels: the first presents a series of quotations on a particular theme (e.g. “silence”), while the second refers to features of the surrounding landscape.

L e Bois des Pensées est un parcours de méditation et de contemplation réalisé dans le dernier bois de la

Basse Langa, parmi les arbres séculaires, les vignobles et les noiseraies. C’est un sentier équipé et articulé en douze étapes, avec des bancs pour s’y reposer. Chaque étape est accompagnée de deux panneaux : le premier, de caractère littéraire, contient une série de citations regroupées autour d’un thème précis (par ex : “le silence”) ; le second, de caractère figuratif, renvoie par contre à des éléments du paysage que l’on retrouve aux alentours.

zwischen jahrhundertealten Bäumen, an Weinbergen und Haselnussanlagen vorbei, im letzten unversehrten Waldstück der unteren Langa. Der Spaziergang ist unterteilt in 12 Etappen und mit Bänken ausgestattet, die zu Ruhepausen einladen. Jede Etappe ist von zwei Hinweistafeln gezeichnet: Eine ist mit einer Reihe von Zitaten versehen, die sich jeweils auf ein bestimmtes Thema beziehen (z.B. „die Stille“), und die andere enthält Abbildungen, die auf die landschaftlichen Elemente in dem umliegenden Ambiente hinweisen.

Per chi arriva con l’autostrada Piacenza-Torino (A21) l’uscita consigliata è quella di Asti-Est, per poi proseguire sulla A33 in direzione Cuneo. L’autostrada A33 si trasforma poi in una superstrada che, costeggiando Alba in direzione Barolo Monforte, conduce allo svincolo per Serralunga d’Alba.

Per chi arriva con l’autostrada Torino-Savona (A6) l’uscita consigliata è quella di Marene-Cherasco. Si deve prose-guire sulla statale in direzione Bra per poi deviare a destra in direzione La Morra-Verduno. Alla rotonda di Pollenzo si svolta a destra e si prosegue sulla statale Roddi-Grinzane-Alba fino a incontrare la deviazione per Serralunga-Barolo.

To get to Fontanafredda from the A21 Piacenza-Turin motorway, take the Asti-Est exit and then the A33 towards Cuneo. The A33 motorway turns into a toll-free motorway; keep going and follow the signs towards Barolo-Monforte until the turning off for Serralunga d’Alba. From the A6 Turin-Savona motorway, take the Ma rene-Cherasco exit and follow the road towards Bra until you see a turning off to the right signposted La Morra-Verduno. In Pollenzo, turn right again at the roundabout, and follow the road Roddi-Grinzane-Alba until the turning off for Serralunga d’Alba-Barolo.

Kurz vor Alba mündet die A33 in eine zweispurige Schnellstrasse, die an Alba vorbei und in Richtung Barolo-Monforte bis zur Abfahrt nach Serralunga d’Alba führt.Anreise über die Autobahn Torino-Savona (A6): Wir empfehlen,die Ausfahrt Marene-Cherasco zu benutzen. Weiterfahrt in Richtung Asti/Alba. Im Kreisverkehr von Pollenzo rechts halten und der Ausschilderung Roddi/Grinzane/ Alba bis zur Abfahrt nach Serralunga d’Alba/ Barolo folgen.

Pour ceux qui arrivent par l’autoroute Plaisance – Turin A21, il est conseillé de sortir à Asti Est pour continuer par l’autoroute A33, direction Cuneo. L’autoroute A33 devient ensuite une route-express qui côtoie le village d’Alba en direction de Barolo-Monforte jusqu’ à l’embrachement pour Serralunga d’Alba. Pour ceux qui arrivent par l’autoroute Turin-Savone A6 il est conseillé de sortir à Marene-Cherasco. Continuer sur la nationale en direction de Bra, prendre à droite en direction de La Morra-Verduno. Au rond-point de Pollenzo, tourner à droite et continuer sur la nationale Roddi-Grinzane - Alba jusqu’à l’embranchement pour Serralunga d’Alba - Barolo.

This is a picturesque tour of the winery’s majestic 19th-century cellars which are still used today

for the ageing of the great red wines of the Langhe. Amidst the grand oak casks and steel and concrete vats, the “Cantina del Re” (King’s Cellar), “Cattedrale” (Cathedral) and Mirafiore Rotunda will become familiar names where the secrets of the production of great quality wines will be revealed as they experience their delicate maturing in wood. Quality that starts out in the estate vineyards in the villages of Serralunga d’Alba, Diano d’Alba, Barolo and Murisengo. Eighty-five hectares in all, mostly planted with the traditional nebbiolo, barbera, dolcetto and moscato varieties, and worked without the use chemical fertilizers or weed-killers by adopting the most advanced integrated vine pest management techniques established by the European Union program for safeguarding the environment and reducing crop protection interventions. This large area only covers 15% of the company’s annual grape requirements though, so more than four hundred Piedmontese growers - whose loyalty to the company goes back generations - deliver their grapes to the winery each vintage.

Il Garden del Lago è un padiglione completamente realizzato in ferro e vetro, in stile liberty, e si trova nel parco, di fronte al laghetto dei cigni. L’ampiezza della sala (fino a 250 coperti) è alleggerita dall’esile disegno del telaio metallico di sostegno, dalla trasparenza del vetro e dall’intensità della luce che filtra attraverso la diafana struttura. Il Garden del Lago può essere anche noleggiato per eventi privati. Luogo perfetto per cerimonie, cene di gala e attività di team building, ma anche ambiente informale per merende e grigliate.

The Royal Villa’s Garden of Lake is a Liberty-style glass pavilion standing opposite to the swan

lake, its extensive seating capacity (250 covers) is given a lighter feel by the slender design of the metal frame work, the transparency of the glass, and the brightness of the light that filters through the fine structure. Il Bosco dei Pensieri è un percorso di meditazione e di contemplazione realizzato nell’ultimo bosco della Bassa Langa, tra piante secolari, vigneti e noccioleti. È un sentiero attrezzato e articolato in dodici tappe, con panchine per la sosta. Ogni tappa è accompagnata da due cartelli: il primo contiene una serie di citazioni celebri ispirate a un preciso tema (ad es. “il silenzio”, “il pensiero”, “la contemplazione”, “l’ascolto”, “la degustazione” etc.); il secondo rimanda invece a elementi paesaggistici rintracciabili nell’ambiente circostante.

The Wood of Thoughts is a trail of meditation and contemplation amidst centuries-old trees, vineyards

and hazelnut groves in the last wood remaining in the Lower Langhe. With benches provided along the way to stop off for a rest, the trail is set out in twelve stages, and each station is accompanied by two panels: the first presents a series of quotations on a particular theme (e.g. “silence”), while the second refers to features of the surrounding landscape.

L e Bois des Pensées est un parcours de méditation et de contemplation réalisé dans le dernier bois de la

Basse Langa, parmi les arbres séculaires, les vignobles et les noiseraies. C’est un sentier équipé et articulé en douze étapes, avec des bancs pour s’y reposer. Chaque étape est accompagnée de deux panneaux : le premier, de caractère littéraire, contient une série de citations regroupées autour d’un thème précis (par ex : “le silence”) ; le second, de caractère figuratif, renvoie par contre à des éléments du paysage que l’on retrouve aux alentours.

zwischen jahrhundertealten Bäumen, an Weinbergen und Haselnussanlagen vorbei, im letzten unversehrten Waldstück der unteren Langa. Der Spaziergang ist unterteilt in 12 Etappen und mit Bänken ausgestattet, die zu Ruhepausen einladen. Jede Etappe ist von zwei Hinweistafeln gezeichnet: Eine ist mit einer Reihe von Zitaten versehen, die sich jeweils auf ein bestimmtes Thema beziehen (z.B. „die Stille“), und die andere enthält Abbildungen, die auf die landschaftlichen Elemente in dem umliegenden Ambiente hinweisen.

Per chi arriva con l’autostrada Piacenza-Torino (A21) l’uscita consigliata è quella di Asti-Est, per poi proseguire sulla A33 in direzione Cuneo. L’autostrada A33 si trasforma poi in una superstrada che, costeggiando Alba in direzione Barolo Monforte, conduce allo svincolo per Serralunga d’Alba.

Per chi arriva con l’autostrada Torino-Savona (A6) l’uscita consigliata è quella di Marene-Cherasco. Si deve prose-guire sulla statale in direzione Bra per poi deviare a destra in direzione La Morra-Verduno. Alla rotonda di Pollenzo si svolta a destra e si prosegue sulla statale Roddi-Grinzane-Alba fino a incontrare la deviazione per Serralunga-Barolo.

To get to Fontanafredda from the A21 Piacenza-Turin motorway, take the Asti-Est exit and then the A33 towards Cuneo. The A33 motorway turns into a toll-free motorway; keep going and follow the signs towards Barolo-Monforte until the turning off for Serralunga d’Alba. Kurz vor Alba mündet die A33 in eine zweispurige Schnellstrasse, die an Alba vorbei und in Richtung Barolo-Monforte bis zur Abfahrt nach Serralunga d’Alba führt.Anreise über die Autobahn Torino-Savona (A6): Wir empfehlen,die Ausfahrt Marene-Cherasco zu benutzen. Weiterfahrt in Richtung Asti/Alba. Im Kreisverkehr von Pollenzo rechts halten und der Ausschilderung Roddi/Grinzane/ Alba bis zur Abfahrt nach Serralunga d’Alba/ Barolo folgen.

Pour ceux qui arrivent par l’autoroute Plaisance – Turin A21, il est conseillé de sortir à Asti Est pour continuer par l’autoroute A33, direction Cuneo. This is a picturesque tour of the winery’s majestic 19th-century cellars which are still used today

for the ageing of the great red wines of the Langhe. Amidst the grand oak casks and steel and concrete vats, the “Cantina del Re” (King’s Cellar), “Cattedrale” (Cathedral) and Mirafiore Rotunda will become familiar names where the secrets of the production of great quality wines will be revealed as they experience their delicate maturing in wood. Quality that starts out in the estate vineyards in the villages of Serralunga d’Alba, Diano d’Alba, Barolo and Murisengo. Eighty-five hectares in all, mostly planted with the traditional nebbiolo, barbera, dolcetto and moscato varieties, and worked without the use chemical fertilizers or weed-killers by adopting the most advanced integrated vine pest management techniques established by the European Union program for safeguarding the environment and reducing crop protection interventions. This large area only covers 15% of the company’s annual grape requirements though, so more than four hundred Piedmontese growers - whose loyalty to the company goes back generations - deliver their grapes to the winery each vintage.

Alles in allem 85 Hektar, die vorwiegend mit den traditi-onellen Rebsorten Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto und Moscato bebaut sind und ohne chemische Dünge- und Unkrautbekämpfungsmittel bearbeitet werden, unter Anwendung der moderns-ten Techniken für kontrollierte und integ-rierte Schädlingsbekämpfung nach den Richtlinien der Europäischen Union für den Umweltschutz und für reduzierte Maßnahmen zum Pflanzenschutz.

Basse Langa, parmi les arbres séculaires, les vignobles et les noiseraies. C’est un sentier équipé et articulé en douze étapes, avec des bancs pour s’y reposer. zwischen jahrhundertealten Bäumen, an Weinbergen und Haselnussanlagen vorbei, im letzten unversehrten Waldstück der unteren Langa. Der Spaziergang ist unterteilt in 12 Etappen und mit Bänken ausgestattet, die zu Ruhepausen einladen. Jede Etappe ist von zwei Hinweistafeln gezeichnet: Eine ist mit einer Reihe von Zitaten versehen, die sich jeweils auf ein bestimmtes Thema beziehen (z.B. „die Stille“), und die andere enthält Abbildungen, die auf die landschaftlichen Elemente in dem umliegenden Ambiente hinweisen.

Per chi arriva con l’autostrada Piacenza-Torino (A21) l’uscita consigliata è quella di Asti-Est, per poi proseguire sulla A33 in direzione Cuneo. L’autostrada A33 si trasforma poi in una superstrada che, costeggiando Alba in direzione Barolo Monforte, conduce allo svincolo per Serralunga d’Alba.

Per chi arriva con l’autostrada Torino-Savona (A6) l’uscita consigliata è quella di Marene-Cherasco. Si deve prose-guire sulla statale in direzione Bra per poi deviare a destra in direzione La Morra-Verduno. Alla rotonda di Pollenzo si svolta a destra e si prosegue sulla statale Roddi-Grinzane-Alba fino a incontrare la deviazione per Serralunga-Barolo.

This is a picturesque tour of the winery’s majestic 19th-century cellars which are still used today

for the ageing of the great red wines of the Langhe. Amidst the grand oak casks and steel and concrete vats, the “Cantina del Re” (King’s Cellar), “Cattedrale” (Cathedral) and Mirafiore Rotunda will become familiar names where the secrets of the production of great quality wines will be revealed as they experience their delicate maturing in wood. Quality that starts out in the estate vineyards in the villages of Serralunga d’Alba, Diano d’Alba, Barolo and Murisengo. Eighty-five hectares in all, mostly planted with the traditional nebbiolo, barbera, dolcetto and moscato varieties, and worked without the use chemical fertilizers or weed-killers by adopting the most advanced integrated vine pest management techniques established by the European Union program for safeguarding the environment and reducing crop protection interventions. This large area only covers 15% of the company’s annual grape requirements though, so more than four hundred Piedmontese growers - whose loyalty to the company goes back generations - deliver their grapes to the winery each vintage.

Alles in allem 85 Hektar, die vorwiegend mit den traditi-onellen Rebsorten Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto und Moscato bebaut sind und ohne chemische Dünge- und Unkrautbekämpfungsmittel bearbeitet werden, unter Anwendung der moderns-ten Techniken für kontrollierte und integ-rierte Schädlingsbekämpfung nach den Richtlinien der Europäischen Union für den Umweltschutz und für reduzierte Maßnahmen zum Pflanzenschutz.

Il Garden del Lago è un padiglione completamente realizzato in ferro e vetro, in stile liberty, e si trova nel parco, di fronte al laghetto dei cigni. L’ampiezza della sala (fino a 250 coperti) è alleggerita dall’esile disegno del telaio metallico di sostegno, dalla trasparenza del vetro e dall’intensità della luce che filtra attraverso la diafana struttura. Il Garden del Lago può essere anche noleggiato per eventi privati. Luogo perfetto per cerimonie, cene di gala e attività di team building, ma anche ambiente informale per merende e grigliate.

lake, its extensive seating capacity (250 covers) is given a lighter feel by the slender design of the metal frame work, the transparency of the glass, and the brightness of the light that filters through the fine structure. L e Garden du Lac de la Ville Royale est un pavillon realizé entièrement en fer et en verre, de style Liberty.

Il se trouve dans le parc, face au petit lac des cygnes. L’ampleur de la sale (jusqu’à 250 couverts) est allegée par la finesse du dessin du châssis métallique qui la soutient, par la transparence du verre et par l’intensité de la lumière qui filtre à travers la structure diaphane. Le Garden du Lac peut être loué pour fêtes privées. C’est le lieu parfait pour les cérémonies, les soirées de gala et les activités de team-building, mais c’est aussi un local informal idéal pour les grillades et les goûters.

Il Bosco dei Pensieri è un percorso di meditazione e di contemplazione realizzato nell’ultimo bosco della Bassa Langa, tra piante secolari, vigneti e noccioleti. È un sentiero attrezzato e articolato in dodici tappe, con panchine per la sosta. Ogni tappa è accompagnata da due cartelli: il primo contiene una serie di citazioni celebri ispirate a un preciso tema (ad es. “il silenzio”, “il pensiero”, “la contemplazione”, “l’ascolto”, “la degustazione” etc.); il secondo rimanda invece a elementi paesaggistici rintracciabili nell’ambiente circostante.

This is a picturesque tour of the winery’s majestic 19th-century cellars which are still used today

for the ageing of the great red wines of the Langhe. Amidst the grand oak casks and steel and concrete vats, the “Cantina del Re” (King’s Cellar), “Cattedrale” (Cathedral) and Mirafiore Rotunda will become familiar names where the secrets of the production of great quality wines will be revealed as they experience their delicate maturing in wood. Quality that starts out in the estate vineyards in the villages of Serralunga d’Alba, Diano d’Alba, Barolo and Murisengo. Eighty-five hectares in all, mostly planted with the traditional nebbiolo, barbera, dolcetto and moscato varieties, and worked without the use chemical fertilizers or weed-killers by adopting the most advanced integrated vine pest management techniques established by the European Union program for safeguarding the environment and reducing crop protection interventions. This large area only covers 15% of the company’s annual grape requirements though, so more than four hundred Piedmontese growers - whose loyalty to the company goes back generations - deliver their grapes to the winery each vintage.

Jahrhundert, die auch heute noch für den Ausbau der großen Rotweine der Langhe bestimmt sind: der „Keller des Königs“, die „Kathedrale“ und die „Rotonda Mirafiore“, vorbei an imposanten Eichenfässern, Stahl- und Zementbehältern. Die Besucher lernen neben den Produktionsstätten auch die Geheimnisse der großen Qualitätsweine und deren delikate Entwicklungsphasen kennen. Eine Qualität, die in den Weinbergen des Unternehmens in den Gemeinden Serralunga d’Alba, Diano d’Alba, Barolo und Murisengo ihren Ursprung hat. Alles in allem 85 Hektar, die vorwiegend mit den traditi-onellen Rebsorten Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto und Moscato bebaut sind und ohne chemische Dünge- und Unkrautbekämpfungsmittel bearbeitet werden, unter Anwendung der moderns-ten Techniken für kontrollierte und integ-rierte Schädlingsbekämpfung nach den Richtlinien der Europäischen Union für den Umweltschutz und für reduzierte Maßnahmen zum Pflanzenschutz.

encore aujourd’hui au vieillissement de grands vins rouges des Langhe. Ainsi la Cave du Roi, la Cathédrale, la Rotonde Mirafiore vous seront bientôt familiers parmi les tonneaux de chêne imposants et les cuves d’acier et de ciment. Vous aurez ainsi la possibilité de connaître les lieux mais aussi les secrets de la production des grands vins de qualité, durant la phase très délicate du vieillissement en fût. Une qualité qui prend origine dans les vignobles de l’exploitation, qui se trouvent à Serralunga d’Alba, Diano d’Alba, Barolo et à Murisengo. Quatre-vingt-cinq hectares en tout, cultivés en majorité de variétés traditionnelles comme le nebbiolo, la barbera, le dolcetto et le muscat, sans fertilisants chimiques ni désherbants, et à l’aide des techniques les plus modernes de lutte raisonnée contre les parasites de la vigne. Une ample superficie qui ne couvre que 15% des besoins annuels en raisins de l’exploitation. C’est pourquoi, pendant les vendanges, près de quatre cents viticulteurs piémontais livrent leurs raisins à Fontanafredda, sur la base d’un rapport de confiance qui dure depuis des générations.

È un suggestivo percorso attraverso le maestose cantine ottocentesche aziendali, destinate ancora oggi all’affinamento dei grandi vini rossi delle Langhe. Così la Cantina del Re, la Cattedrale, la Rotonda Mirafiore diventeranno nomi familiari, tra imponenti botti di rovere e tini di acciaio e di cemento, con la possibilità di conoscere insieme ai luoghi anche i segreti della produzione dei grandi vini di qualità, in una fase molto delicata come quella dell’affinamento nel legno. Una qualità che parte dai vigneti dell’azienda, nei comuni di Serralunga d’Alba, Diano d’Alba, Barolo e Murisengo. Ottantacinque ettari in tutto, coltivati con le tradizionali varietà nebbiolo, barbera, dolcetto e moscato, senza l’uso di fertilizzanti chimici e di diserbanti, e con l’adozione delle più moderne tecniche di lotta guidata e integrata contro i parassiti della vite.

Z euge der Geschichte von Fontanafredda ist die Villa Reale: ein kürzlich restauriertes Gebäude aus

dem 19. Jahrhundert, das sich am Eingang zu einem jahrhundertealten Park befindet. Die Villa präsentiert sich ihren Gästen heute mit einem eleganten und freundlichen Ambiente und beherbergt auch ein kleines und exklusives Restaurant, in dem man die Küche der Albeser Tradition in Begleitung der Weine des Landguts genießen kann. Im Erdgeschoss befindet sich der so genannte Infernotto mit seinem charakteris-tischen Tonnengewölbe. Dies ist der kleine Saal, der zum Restaurant gehört, mit einem spektakulären Küchenblock im Raum, wo die Gäste der Zubereitung beiwohnen und dann in aller Ruhe die Köstlichkeiten der Jahreszeiten genießen können. Il Garden del Lago è un padiglione completamente realizzato in ferro e vetro, in stile liberty, e si trova nel parco, di fronte al laghetto dei cigni. L’ampiezza della sala (fino a 250 coperti) è alleggerita dall’esile disegno del telaio metallico di sostegno, dalla trasparenza del vetro e dall’intensità della luce che filtra attraverso la diafana struttura. Il Garden del Lago può essere anche noleggiato per eventi privati. Luogo perfetto per cerimonie, cene di gala e attività di team building, ma anche ambiente informale per merende e grigliate.

The Royal Villa’s Garden of Lake is a Liberty-style glass pavilion standing opposite to the swan

lake, its extensive seating capacity (250 covers) is given a lighter feel by the slender design of the metal frame work, the transparency of the glass, and the brightness of the light that filters through the fine structure. The Garden of Lake can be rent for private events. It is the perfect place for ceremonies, gala dinners and team-building activities but it is also an informal pavilion for barbeques and aperitifs.

Pavillon, der im Park am so genannten „Schwanenweiher“ von Fontanafredda liegt. Der große Saal (bis zu 250 Gedecke) wird aufgelockert durch die feine Metallstruktur, die gläsernen Wände und die Intensität des Lichtes, das den Saalerstrahlen lässt. Der Garten des Sees kann auch für private Events angemietet werden. Er ist nicht nur idealer Ort für Hochzeitfeiern, Festessen, Team-building Aktivitäten, sondern auch für informelle Ereignisse wie Imbisse und Grillfeste.

L e Garden du Lac de la Ville Royale est un pavillon realizé entièrement en fer et en verre, de style Liberty.

Il se trouve dans le parc, face au petit lac des cygnes. L’ampleur de la sale (jusqu’à 250 couverts) est allegée par la finesse du dessin du châssis métallique qui la soutient, par la transparence du verre et par l’intensité de la lumière qui filtre à travers la structure diaphane. Le Garden du Lac peut être loué pour fêtes privées. C’est le lieu parfait pour les cérémonies, les soirées de gala et les activités de team-building, mais c’est aussi un local informal idéal pour les grillades et les goûters.

Il Bosco dei Pensieri è un percorso di meditazione e di contemplazione realizzato nell’ultimo bosco della Bassa Langa, tra piante secolari, vigneti e noccioleti. È un sentiero attrezzato e articolato in dodici tappe, con panchine per la sosta. Ogni tappa è accompagnata da due cartelli: il primo contiene una serie di citazioni celebri ispirate a un preciso tema (ad es. “il silenzio”, “il pensiero”, “la contemplazione”, “l’ascolto”, “la degustazione” etc.); il secondo rimanda invece a elementi paesaggistici rintracciabili nell’ambiente circostante.

The Wood of Thoughts is a trail of meditation and contemplation amidst centuries-old trees, vineyards

and hazelnut groves in the last wood remaining in the Lower Langhe. With benches provided along the way to stop off for a rest, the trail is set out in twelve stages, and each station is accompanied by two panels: the first presents a series of quotations on a particular theme (e.g. “silence”), while the second refers to features of the surrounding landscape.

L e Bois des Pensées est un parcours de méditation et de contemplation réalisé dans le dernier bois de la

Basse Langa, parmi les arbres séculaires, les vignobles et les noiseraies. C’est un sentier équipé et articulé en douze étapes, avec des bancs pour s’y reposer. Chaque étape est accompagnée de deux panneaux : le premier, de caractère littéraire, contient une série de citations regroupées autour d’un thème précis (par ex : “le silence”) ; le second, de caractère figuratif, renvoie par contre à des éléments du paysage que l’on retrouve aux alentours.

D er Bosco dei Pensieri (der „Wald der Gedanken“) ist ein Parcours der Meditation und der Besinnung

zwischen jahrhundertealten Bäumen, an Weinbergen und Haselnussanlagen vorbei, im letzten unversehrten Waldstück der unteren Langa. Der Spaziergang ist unterteilt in 12 Etappen und mit Bänken ausgestattet, die zu Ruhepausen einladen. Jede Etappe ist von zwei Hinweistafeln gezeichnet: Eine ist mit einer Reihe von Zitaten versehen, die sich jeweils auf ein bestimmtes Thema beziehen (z.B. „die Stille“), und die andere enthält Abbildungen, die auf die landschaftlichen Elemente in dem umliegenden Ambiente hinweisen.

La Fondazione E. di Mirafiore ha sede in un edificio all’interno della tenuta ed è stata costituita per perpetuare la memoria di Emanuele di Mirafiore.Si propone l’obiettivo di promuovere la crescita culturale attraverso la lettura e le pratiche di buona agricoltura, ma anche di attualizzare l’idea di Resistenza, adattandone il significato a nuove opportunità. A tale fine è stato attivato un “Laboratorio di Resistenza permanente”, con l’obiettivo di promuovere attività (incontri, reading, conferenze, presentazioni di libri e concerti) nell’ambito giuridico, filosofico, letterario, storico, scientifico, artistico, della comunicazione e dell’impegno civile (per informazioni: www.fondazionemirafiore. it). La sede della Fondazione comprende un piccolo teatro, un Ristoro e la Bottega-libreria.

A “Permanent Resistance Workshop” has been set up for this purpose, currently composed of eleven presidia set up to safeguard values in danger of extinction. The E. di Mirafiore Foundation is located in a historic building on the estate. It was set up to perpetuate the memory

of the natural son of Victor Emmanuel II and Countess Rosa, Emanuele di Mirafiore, the eclectic personality and enlightened wine entrepreneur who paved the way the commercial development of the company.The E. di Mirafiore Foundation sets out to promote cultural development through reading and good farming practices, as well as to update the idea of the Resistance, adapting its meaning and original scope to new threats and opportunities. A “Permanent Resistance Workshop” has been set up for this purpose, currently composed of eleven presidia set up to safeguard values in danger of extinction. Each presidium is coordinated by a Captain singled out among the most influential Italian intellectuals operating in the fields of law, philosophy, literature, history, science, art, communication and civic commitment (for further information and programs of activities: www.fondazionemirafiore.it). The premises of the Foundation include a small theatre, a Wine & Food Bar and the store-bookshop.

Le “Laboratoire de Résistance permanente”, a été activé dans ce but. Il est actuellement composé de onze Garnisons pour la sauvegarde des valeurs en danger de disparition. Die Stiftung hat sich zur Aufgabe gesetzt, die kulturelle Entwicklung anhand von Lesungen und dem Betreiben einer „guten“ Landwirtschaft zu fördern, aber auch die Idee des Widerstands durch eine Anpassung ihrer Bedeutung und ihrer ursprünglichen Tragweite an neue Bedrohungen und Möglichkeiten zu aktualisieren. Zu diesem Zweck wurde eine „Werkstatt des permanenten Widerstands“ gegründet, die aus elf Förderkreisen (den so genannten Presìdi) zum Schutz jener vom Aussterben bedrohter Werte besteht. Jeder Förderkreise wird von einem Leiter koordiniert, der zu den angesehensten ita-lienischen Intellektuellen gehört. Un petit hôtel composé de 11 chambres permet de recevoir ceux qui désirent passer au moins une nuit au sein du Domaine.Les meubles, le choix des couleurs et des tissus de l’Hôtellerie des Vignes sont une synthèse d’élégance, sans toutefois renoncer à cette simplicité qui est propre au contexte rural. Une ambiance détendue avec des chambres équipées de tous les conforts : minibar, télévision, téléphone, sèche-cheveux, set de courtoisie. Le petit-déjeuner, servi au premier étage est de type continental ou au buffet.

That’s not all however: alongside the wine and food, books - food for the soul - are available for purchase or just simple consultation.

The E. di Mirafiore Foundation is located in a historic building on the estate. It was set up to perpetuate the memory

of the natural son of Victor Emmanuel II and Countess Rosa, Emanuele di Mirafiore, the eclectic personality and enlightened wine entrepreneur who paved the way the commercial development of the company.The E. di Mirafiore Foundation sets out to promote cultural development through reading and good farming practices, as well as to update the idea of the Resistance, adapting its meaning and original scope to new threats and opportunities. A “Permanent Resistance Workshop” has been set up for this purpose, currently composed of eleven presidia set up to safeguard values in danger of extinction. Each presidium is coordinated by a Captain singled out among the most influential Italian intellectuals operating in the fields of law, philosophy, literature, history, science, art, communication and civic commitment (for further information and programs of activities: www.fondazionemirafiore.it). The premises of the Foundation include a small theatre, a Wine & Food Bar and the store-bookshop.

La Fondation E. di Mirafiore a son siège dans un édifice à l’intérieur du domaine et a été constituée pour perpétuer la

mémoire d’Emmanuel di Mirafiore, fils naturel de Victor Emmanuel II et de la Comtesse Rosa, personnage éclectique et entrepreneur vitivinicole éclairé, qui permit le départ du développement commercial de l’exploitation. La Fondation E. di Mirafiore a comme objectif de promouvoir la croissance culturelle à travers la lecture et les pratiques de la bonne agriculture, mais aussi d’actualiser l’idée de Résistance, en adaptant le concept et la portée originaire aux nouvelles menaces et opportunités. Le “Laboratoire de Résistance permanente”, a été activé dans ce but. Il est actuellement composé de onze Garnisons pour la sauvegarde des valeurs en danger de disparition. Er war eine vielseitige Persönlichkeit und ein illuminierter Weinbau-Unternehmer, der die kommerzielle Entwicklung des Landguts in die Wege leitete. Die Stiftung hat sich zur Aufgabe gesetzt, die kulturelle Entwicklung anhand von Lesungen und dem Betreiben einer „guten“ Landwirtschaft zu fördern, aber auch die Idee des Widerstands durch eine Anpassung ihrer Bedeutung und ihrer ursprünglichen Tragweite an neue Bedrohungen und Möglichkeiten zu aktualisieren. Zu diesem Zweck wurde eine „Werkstatt des permanenten Widerstands“ gegründet, die aus elf Förderkreisen (den so genannten Presìdi) zum Schutz jener vom Aussterben bedrohter Werte besteht. Jeder Förderkreise wird von einem Leiter koordiniert, der zu den angesehensten ita-lienischen Intellektuellen gehört. Das Restaurant der Stiftung ist eine elegante und helle Vineria, täglich mittags geöffnet, und bietet neben

dem Cafeteria-Service die Möglichkeit, ein gutes Glas oder eine gute Flasche Wein auch mit nur einem der Gänge des jeweili-gen Tagesmenüs, das immer frisch zube-reitet wird, zu kombinieren. In der Bottega der Stiftung können die Besucher neben den Weinen und Spumanti aus der reichhaltigen Produktion von Fontanafredda und Mirefiore auch Weine und Spezialitäten aus dem Vertriebsangebot „Il vino e …“ (vollständi-ger Katalog unter: www.ilvinoe.it) verkosten und erwerben. Außerdem gibt es hier neben den Weinen und gastronomischen Produkten auch Nahrung für die Seele, nämlich Bücher, die man kaufen oder ein-fach nur vor Ort lesen kann.
