Si presenta nel bicchiere con un bel
rosso rubino con sfumature granate. I
profumi sono intensi con note di frut-
ti di bosco e una gradevole sensazione
tostata. Emergono poi accenti di chio-
di di garofano. Piacevole sensazione
di confettura di ciliegia in bocca, con
note di mandorla e una grande morbi-
dezza.

A blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvi-
gnon grapes which have been vinified sepa-
rately and then blended together. The resul-
tant wine completes its fermentation in small
wooden casks. It is fruity, full and soft with
notes of cherry, vanilla and spice on the nose.

IGT or Indicazione Geographica Tipica suggests this is a typical Tuscan red. If only they were all this good! A beautiful embossed la-bel raises your hopes and the wine follows through on the promise with a lengthy cascade of cherry and red currant fruit. A perfect blend of San-giovese and Cabernet from Carpineto the first Italian outfit to receive the 'Mondavi Winemaker of the Year' award in 1994. “………..For a red, I chose Carpineto's 2006 Do-
gajolo from Italy's Tuscany region ($14.49). The
Dogajolo, which has a striking label showing multi-
colored oak leaves, is a blend of 80 percent Sangio-
vese and 20 percent Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a
medium-bodied, full-flavored red. The juicy berry
fruit flavor is enriched by the Cabernet, which gives
the wine a refined, long dry finish. The Dogajolo is
a soft, well-balanced red with a touch of spice and
vanilla. It would go well with grilled meats and
pasta with tomato sauce.”.

It has an attractive, soft earthy
nose while on the palate it tastes
like Chianti, with some sweeter
fruit to soften the rough edges.
