La collezione 2011 continua, sublimandolo, il percorso di ricerca che caratterizza e distingue Antonangeli nel mondo dell’illuminazione. Da sempre Antonangeli propone soluzioni che non si limitano al semplice progetto formale ed all’applicazione delle tecnologie in voga agli oggetti, ma si cimenta con materie inconsuete con processi di lavorazione particolari, a volte artigianali, a volte tecnicamente molto sofisticati. Questo fa di Antonangeli un unicum senza paragoni sul mercato. Gli 8 protagonisti della collezione 2011 sono il prodotto di uno studio paziente su materiali tradizionali, ma trattati in modo inedito, su materiali nuovi, su soluzioni produttive mai sperimentate nel campo dell’illuminazione. Il risultato sono forme di luce sorprendenti.

The collection 2011 continues and enhances the research path that characterizes and distinguishes Antonangeli in the world of lighting. Antonangeli, from time immemorial, offers solutions which go beyond the simple formal project and technical applications by experimenting with unusual materials which requires special working procedures; at times craft, other times technically highly sophisticated. This alone has made Antonangeli an unicum in his field. The 8 protagonists of the collection 2011 are products of a patient and thorough study on traditional materials worked in a new way, new materials as well as productive solutions never before tested in the field of lighting. The result is exciting forms of lighting.

Unica è realizzata grazie all’utilizzo dell’antica tecnica della “fusione in terra”: lavorazione generalmente adoperata dagli scultori per ottenere esemplari unici o multipli di opere in metallo come il bronzo , l’alluminio , il rame e l’ottone. La millenaria e artistica esecuzione, viene praticata da pochi artigiani che si tramandano il “mestiere” di padre in figlio, rinnovando la passione. Unica simboleggia con il proprio nome l’unicità della lavorazione, l’unicità dei pezzi, che sono singolari e diversi fra loro. Ogni colata infatti, sembra avere un proprio “DNA”: dovuto ai segni sulle superfici della materia, che prelevata dal fuoco alla stato liquido, viene versata nel calco in terra per ottenerne la forma. Unica is realized by using the ancient technique of “sand casting”: a process usually used by sculptors for individual pieces or multiple of works in metal such as bronze, aluminium, copper and brass. The ancient and artistic execution is carried out by a few artisans who hand down the “trades” from father to son renewing passion. Unica symbolizes with his name the uniqueness of the process, the uniqueness of the pieces, that are unique and different. In fact, each casting seems to have its own “DNA” due to the signs on the surface of the material, that taken from the fire in the liquid state , is poured into the mould in the ground to get the form. Armonica nasce da una ricerca progettuale orientate al recupero formale e stilistico dei tratti che hanno reso unico il design negli anni ‘70, con soluzioni e razionalizzazione d’uso innovativi. Si è ottenuta una lampada orientabile da terra , parete e soffitto, ad alta potenza luminosa, dai tratti armonici e forte identità: per ampi e differenti impieghi. Armonica arises from a planning research aimed to the recovering the formal and stylistic treats that have made unique the design in 70’s, with innovative solutions and use efficiency. We obtained an adjustable floor , wall and ceiling lamp, with high power, with harmonic line and strong identity for a large and different uses. Continua è un sistema modulare brevettato. L’elemento singolo, che utilizza fonti luminose fluorescenti T5, è aggregabile attraverso connessioni, per ottenere infinite possibilità compositive a sospensione, soffitto, parete. Ogni elemento è corredato di ballast elettronico ed è predisposto per alimentare, in tensione di rete, i successivi: per consentire di utilizzare un unico punto luce per tutti gli aggregati, senza limiti compositivi. Lampada da terra con diffusore in purissimo polietilene bianco, riciclabile, privo di sostanze tossiche e resistente all’acqua. il materiale, brevettato e normalmente utilizzato in architettura da molti anni, protegge gli edifici da umidità e agenti atmosferici: con Dolcevita trova una nuova applicazione. La forma conica è in parte trasformabile attraverso la manipolazione libera, che consente di modellare, variare l’altezza (da 170 a 210 cm), e stropicciare la materia, personalizzando il “corpo” della lampada e il suo effetto luminoso. Leggero e consistente, il diffusore di Dolcevita , si illumina totalmente, filtrando una luce morbida, confortevole, mettendo in evidenza una texture materica che ricorda la carta di riso. “Un cerchio. Se disegnato con un solo gesto è qualcosa di più. E’ legato al respiro e quindi all’odore, al qui e ora: alla consapevolezza, al profondo, alla rivelazione un giorno, nel disegno-segno di un frontespizio di una novella zen… E poi mi appare il materiale con il quale viene lasciato questo gesto: argento-liquido, specchio, acqua, acciaio, riflessione, luce, luce riflessa… Leggo sotto il simbolo “verità interiore”. Il qui e ora, la consapevolezza, sono luci interiori. Gli uomini che vivono di queste emozioni trasmettono luce… Ensò è un oggetto, un segno, un gesto, che trasmetterà questa luce, questa verità...”

“A circle. If drawn with a single gesture is something more. It is related to breath and then to the smell, to the here and now: is related to awareness, to the deeph, to the revelation one day in a cover’s drawing of a zen short-story…and then I get the material from which this gesture is left: liquid-silver, mirror, water, steel, reflection, light, reflected light…I read under the symbol “inner truth”. il celebre titolo della canzone di Caruso, nel tempo simbolo evocativo di calore, luce, ‘italianità’, è preso a prestito per nominare questo progetto, che nella sua versione minimale, nasce per essere alimentato attraverso un pannello solare di ultima generazione. il diffusore piatto di forma rotonda, realizzato in policarbonato trasparente e opacizzato (anti UV), è facilmente trasportabile. Può essere appoggiato a terra, sull’erba, galleggiare sull’acqua: raccolto in una rete da pescatore, diventare una sospensione da appendere al ramo di un albero, alla trave di un ‘berceau’…

The famous title song by Caruso, over time evocative symbol of warmth, light, “Italians”, is borrowed to name this project, which in its minimal version, is designed to be powered through a solar panel of the last generation. The diffuser plate of round shape, made of transparent matt polycarbonate (anti UV), is easily transportable. It can be placed on the ground, grass, floating on the water: collected in a fisherman’s net became a suspension to be hung on a tree branch, on a beam of a pergola….

Niente come la luce riesce a trasformare uno spazio nel nostro spazio, a creare il palcoscenico della nostra esistenza. A volte le nostre case hanno un “fuori”, un buio in cui vorremmo riproporre le stesse atmosfere dell’interno. A questo Antonangeli si dedica con le sue collezioni Outdoor, in una sorta di continuità tra interno ed esterno dando vita a paesaggi notturni, dove luce e buio sono insieme complici e protagonisti.

There’s nothing quite like light when it comes transforming a space in our space, creating the stage of our existens. Some of us also have outdoor spaces, a dark spot to which we woud like to re-propse the same atmosphere we have created indoors. Antonangeli’s Outdoor collections are dedicated to just this: to creating a sort of continuation between indoors and outdoors: giving life to night sceneries where light and dark work both as companions and protagonists.
