InnoVaZIone e SucceSSo.Celestino Vercelli, nipote di Edoardo, da professionista prese parte a sette Giri dItalia e due Tour de France. Dopo il ritiro, nel 1976 fond lazienda con lobbiettivo di continuare a fare del ciclismo una ragione di vita. Le conoscenze accumulate nellarco della carriera e le idee brillanti di Celestino fruttarono a Vittoria i primi successi, delineando lapproccio fortemente innovativo che ancora oggi si pu riscontrare nella vision aziendale.

1978 Appena due anni dopo la sua fondazione, Vittoria la prima in Italia a produrre una scarpa da ciclismo colorata.

1981 Introduce la suola in nylon, abbandonando la versione in cuoio.

1985 Lavora sul design e sul comfort proponendo per prima lo sperone antitendinite posteriore in Poliuretano.

1992 Ancora una volta Vittoria anticipa i tempi con il modello Fulcrum, brevettando la chiusura a rotore con cavi in nylon.

He would arrive at the market before his competitors, who would rather enjoy the comforts of the train.

InnoVatIon and SucceSS.Celestino Vercelli, Edoardos grandson a professional cyclist, raced in seven editions of the Giro dItalia and two of the Tour de France. After retiring in 1976, he started his own company with the objective of making cycling his reason for living. The competitive experience Celestino gained on the roads of Europe during his career and his brilliant designs brought Vittoria early racing success, demonstrating the companys innovative vision.

1978 Two years after its founding, Vittoria is the first Italian company making colored cycling shoes.

1981 Introduces the nylon sole, abandoning the traditional leather sole.

1985 Vittoria improves foot comfort by introducing a revolutionary design, a heel cup in polyurethane.

1992 With the introduction of the Fulcrum model, once again Vittoria is way ahead of its time by inventing the rotor closing system using nylon cables.

Over the past 37 years some of cyclings greatest champions have worn Vittoria: Marco Pantani, Mark Gorsky, Sean Kelly, Stephen Roche, Phil Anderson, Mario Cipollini, Paola Pezzo, Giovanna Bonazzi, Hanka Kupfernagel, Thor Hushovd, Dan Martin and Fumy Beppu. Every upper is made up of more than 20 pieces, a mix of mesh, l ining, padding and other technical items. All shoe upper parts are cut on our factory floor with a special steel cutting die.

The first production phase is the insole mounting. Every model has a specific insole. The insole can be of the standard antibacterial type, to the breathable insole used on shoes with ventilated soles that permit perfect foot ventilation.

The finished upper, is mounted on a plastic last. This phase is done on a machine, but an operator with extensive experience and good concentration is required for a quality result.

When the upper is properly fixed on its insole, a fully computerized roughing and cementing machine prepares the upper to receive it sole.

Every pair of Vittoria shoes is designed, developed and handmade in Biella (Italy) following the Italian craftsmanship tradition. In our factory we plan and control the entire production process by joining our extensive footwear manufacturing know-how with tireless technological research and innovation. As a result, the materials as well as the entire production process are controlled and tested at every single step by highly qualified technicians.

Una tomaia composta da pi di 20 parti, tra rete, fodere, imbottiture e particolare tecnici. Tutte queste parti sono tagliate internamente, mediate apposite fustelle di acciaio.

Prima fase del processo produttivo lapplicazione del sottopiede, scelto a seconda del modello tra lo standard antibatterico o il pi tecnico estruso, che permette una perfetta ventilazione del piede.

La tomaia viene montata sulla forma. una fase che viene fatta con lausil io di macchinari, che richiede una grande esperienza e concentrazione da parte delloperatore.

Una volta montata la tomaia sulla forma, la scarpa grazie ad una macchina computerizzata, entra nella fase di spianatura ed incollaggio, pronta poi per essere pressata assieme alla sua suola.

Vittorias biggest challenge is providing shoes with the most comfortable fit. We know feet have different shapes and for this reason we make shoes with distinct widths and lasts to fit all shapes of feet. To satisfy different needs, we provide two different fits:

TRADITIONAL FITWe enlarged the width of the traditional European fit suitable for feet with skinny soles. This improvement, together with medium-soft synthetic leather, allows an optimal adjustment of the shoe with the foot.

WIDE FITWe enlarged the sole width to provide a comfortable fit for wide feet, following requests from Asia.

In 1992 Vittoria was the first to introduce the rotor shoe closing system using nylon cables. This closure used on our Fulcrum shoe was cyclings first and today is sti l l widely imitated.

HORAs closing system is unique. Its an innovative system with a micrometric cable closure which allows a step-by-step adjustable closing and opening as well as a quick unfastening. This closure is used on both the Hora and Rock models and is easily replaced.

The lateral closure of the SSP System is Vittorias new wager. Its the same closing system used on the HORA but much smaller. Despite its small size, this closing systems strength is incredible, you have to try it!
