Proprio queste infatti gliregalarono la capretta Amaltea che lo nutriva del sacrolatte che donava immortalità ed eterna giovinezza.Quando Zeus fu più grandicello si compiacque diesercitare le sue braccia e le sue gambe congiuochi di forza, che lo irrobustivano. Ungiorno che si baloccava con la sua nutriceAmaltea, in questi esercizi violenti, gli avvennedi attaccarsi ad un corno della capretta controppa più gagliardia che nonoccorresse, tanto che questo si staccò.Una Ninfa pietosa, Melissa, medicòla testa ferita dell’animale, e Zeusper compensarla raccolse il cornospezzato e lo riempì di fiori e fruttaregalandoglielo e prometttendole cheda quel corno miracoloso sarebbe sempre scaturito fuoriogni cosa che il suo possessore avesse desiderato. È proprioda Amaltea che nasce quindi la famosa Cornucopiasimbolo di abbondanza e ricchezza...”
