The Marcegaglia Carbon Steel plant in Boltiere (Bergamo) is dedicated to the manufacturing of welded and seamless cold-drawn precision tubes for automotive, hydraulic and mechanical applications.

The production facility, expanded and upgraded in 2007, is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and performs a constant activity of research and development on products and processes.

Thanks to its range of solutions tailored on the customers’ specific requirements, Marcegaglia Carbon Steel has esta-blished long-term partnerships both with OEMs in several sectors and distributors.

The plant has four specific certifications, not only produc-tion-related but also in the field of workplace health & safe-ty and environment protection.

Lo stabilimento Marcegaglia Carbon Steel di Boltiere (Ber-gamo) è specializzato nella produzione di tubi trafilati a freddo di precisione, saldati e senza saldatura, per il setto-re automobilistico, l’idraulica e le applicazioni meccaniche.

La sede produttiva, ampliata e rinnovata nel 2007, può con-tare su impianti tecnologicamente all’avanguardia e su una costante attività di ricerca e sviluppo di prodotti e processi.

+C Hard. No final treatment after final cold drawing. Crudo. Senza trattamento termico dopo la trafilatura a freddo conclusiva.

+LC Soft. Final heat treatment is followed by a suitable drawing pass (limited reduction of area). Crudo malleabile. La trafilatura a freddo avviene in una passata dopo l’ultimo trattamento termico.

+SR Stress Relieved. After final cold drawing, the tubes are stress relieved in a controlled atmosphere. Disteso. Dopo l’ultima trafilatura a freddo, si procede alla ricottura di distensione in condizioni di atmosfera controllata.

+A Annealed. After final cold drawing, the tubes are annealed in a controlled atmosphere. Ricotto. I tubi sono ricotti in condizioni di atmosfera controllata dopo l’ultima trafilatura a freddo.

Among all the manufacturing com-panies in the cold-drawn tubes sec-tor, Marcegaglia Boltiere is the first production plant awarded with four quality certifications.The quality system is ISO 9001 cer-tified, while production for the au-tomotive industry is ISO TS 16949 compliant. Within a corporate policy pro-moting waste reduction and en-vironmental safety, Marcegaglia Boltiere has developed ISO 14001 environmental quality system, while workplace health and safety system is BS OHSAS 18001 certi-fied.
