VirtualizzazioneXen continua l'avanzata nel Data Center

Gartner, “The Future of Xen and the Future of XenSource,” by Gammage, Enck, and Weiss. Nov 2006.

“The Xen hypervisor will provide the most-viable option for building an industry x86 standard and play a central role in its future ecosystem development. ...To be safe, organizations should consider strategic investments in the Xen hypervisor and seriously begin piloting in 2007”

VMware.....● Suse Linux Enterprise Server 9 ● Suse Linux Enterprise Server 10● Netware/ Open Enterprise Server● RHEL 4● Windows 2003/2000/XP● comin soon: RHEL5

✔ Novell virtualizzazione RH, SLES, Win, Netware

✔ SAP supporta i propri ambienti virtualizzati su SLES/XEN

Con RedHat

✗ RH supporta solo RH virtualizzato su RH

Con VmWare

✗ Microsoft non supporta applicazioni virtualizzate su Vmware.

✗ SAP non è supportato in ambiente VMware

so what?

Page 39: Avnet Summit Finale

© Novell Inc, Confidential & Proprietary

39

.... la seconda.....

2) Cosa fa Novell

Page 40: Avnet Summit Finale

© Novell Inc, Confidential & Proprietary

40

.... la terza ed ultima.....

3) Avnet e Novell
