TADAO ANDO Tadao Ando, l'architetto autodidatta famoso in tutto il mondo, già vincitore nel 1995 del premio Pritzker Prize, considerato il nobel dell'architettura, ha ricevuto il 22 aprile 2002 la laurea ad honorem dalla Facoltà di architettura dell'Università di Roma "La Sapienza".Tadao Ando attribuisce il suo accrescimento all'intensa lettura e ad un elevato numero di viaggi in Europa e negli Stati Uniti intrapresi per studiare le architetture contemporanee e storiche. Nato a Osaka nel 1941, Tadao Ando realizza il suo primo progetto di abitazioni familiari nel 1972, mostrandosi sulla scena nazionale nel 1976 con le realizzazioni di casa Azuma a Osaka, vincendo il Premio annuale assegnato dall'Architectural Institute of Japan.Tra le opere più importanti si ricordano: il Children's Museum, il Naoshima Contemporary Art Museum, il Suntory Museum, il Museum of Literature and the Forest of Tombs Museum in Kumamoto, la Chiesa della Luce ad Osaka, la Cappella sull'acqua a Tomamu, il Tempio sull'acqua alle isole Awajishima, in Giappone, la Pulitzer Foundation, negli Usa, il Japan Pavilion at Expo ‘92 a Siviglia. In Italia, l’ edificio Fabrica per Benetton a Treviso, il teatro Giorgio Armani a Milano e a Venezia il nuovo allestimento e manutenzione di Palazzo Grassi, il progetto di restauro di Punta della Dogana ed del Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi.Nel 2011 inizia la collaborazione con Venini.

Tadao Ando, the world-renowned self-taught architect, winner in 1995 of the Pritzker Prize, considered the Nobel prize of architecture, received an honorary degree from the Faculty of Architecture of “La Sapienza” University of Rome on 22 April 2002.Tadao Ando attributes his learning to intense reading and a large number of trips to Europe and the United States, undertaken to study contemporary and historical architecture.Born in Osaka in 1941, Tadao Ando realised his first project for family homes in 1972, appearing on the national scene in 1976 with the Azuma home projects in Osaka, winning the annual award assigned by the Architectural Institute of Japan.Among his most important works are the Children’s Museum, the Naoshima Contemporary Art Museum, the Suntory Museum, the Museum of Literature and the Forest of Tombs Museum in Kumamoto, the Church of the Light in Osaka, the Tomamu Water Chapel, the Temple on water in the Awajishima Islands, Japan, the Pulitzer Foundation, 2001, in the USA, the Japan Pavilion at Expo ‘92 in Seville. In Italy, he designed the Fabrica building for Benetton in Treviso, the Giorgio Armani theatre in Milan, while in Venice he was responsible for the new layout and maintenance of Palazzo Grassi, the restoration project of the Punta della Dogana and of the little theatre in Palazzo Grassi.

あんどう ただお。建築家。独学で建築を学ぶ 。1995年に建築界のノーベル賞とされるプリツカー賞を受賞。2002年4月22日には「ラ・サピエンツァ」ローマ大学建築学部から名誉学士号を授与される。大学や師となる建築家の専門教育を受けずに独学で建築の研究を進めてきた安藤忠雄にとっては「最初の学士号」である。安藤忠雄は、多くの読書と度重なるアメリカ、ヨーロッパでの旅行を通じて歴史的な建築や現代建築を学んだことが、建築家としての自己の発展につながったとしている。1941年に大阪に生まれた安藤忠雄は1969年に安藤忠雄建築研究所を設立し、1972年に初の住宅プロジェクトを手がける。大阪市の住吉の長屋(1976)が高く評価されて1979年に日本建築学会賞を受賞した。主要作品として、六甲の集合住宅Ⅰ，Ⅱ，Ⅲ、光の教会、ピューリッツアー美術館、フォートワース現代美術館、ベネッセハウス ミュージアム 、同 オーバル、　地中美術館などがある。イタリア おけるにおいてはトレヴィゾの Fabrica (ベネトンアートスクール)、ミラノの アルマーニ テアトロがあるほか、ヴェネチアの一連のプロジェクト、パラッツォ・グラッシ、プンタ・デラ・ドガーナ、テアトリーノ、がある。ヴェニーニとのコラボレーションは2011年より開始始まっており今回のプロジェクトは4作目となる。

VENINI: una storia, un’eccellenza artistica, una passione tutta italiana Fondata nel 1921 dall’avvocato milanese Paolo Venini e dall’antiquario veneziano Giacomo Cappellin, la Venini S.p.A., allora Cappellin, Venini & C., è destinata a diventare un nome di riferimento nel mondo del vetro artistico, ponendo le basi di quell’identità stilistica che ancora oggi la contraddistingue. Nel tempo, Venini stringe significative collaborazioni con artisti come Napoleone Martinuzzi, Carlo Scarpa, Vittorio Zecchin e, nel dopoguerra, con Gio Ponti e Mimmo Rotella, fino ai contributi di designer e architetti contemporanei del calibro di Tadao Ando, Gae Aulenti, Massimiliano Fuksas, Ettore Sottsass, Emmanuel Babled, Alessandro Mendini e Ron Arad. Così l’originale produzione artistica si rinnova nelle forme e nel linguaggio. Fra progetti iconici e nuove creazioni, la vetreria presenta le sue opere in due collezioni: Art Glass raccoglie straordinari vasi scultorei e oggetti per il décor; Art Light presenta lampadari e importanti installazioni luminose destinate a grandi spazi pubblici o privati.Le creazioni firmate Venini sono entrate a far parte delle collezioni permanenti di musei della portata del Metropolitan Museum e dell MOMA di New York, della Fondazione Cartier di Parigi, del Victoria and Albert Museum di Londra. Venini raccoglie nel suo museo 45.000 disegni, 10.000 foto d'epoca e 4.000 opere d’arte, rappresenta il più prezioso archivio storico della vetreria artistica moderna e contemporanea. Dal gennaio 2016 la società è controllata dalla famiglia Damiani, già a capo dell’omonimo brand internazionale di alta gioielleria, con l’obiettivo di dare maggior impulso a una delle più autentiche eccellenze del made in Italy.

“Il tema di quest’opera rappresenta “l’ Ordine dello Spazio” attraverso una semplice geometria di una sfera sottratta dal centro di un cubo. La divisione perpendicolare del volume origina quattro parti separate. Grazie all’arte del vetro veneziano, questo progetto si materializza in una preziosa scultura.L’opera “Ando Cosmos” si presenta come un insieme di tre elementi. Per completare l’ordine del “COSMO” lo spettatore deve immaginare il pezzo intenzionalmente mancante della composizione.”

“The theme of this piece embodies the “Order of Space” by employing a simple geometry of a sphere subtracted from the centre of a cube. Perpendicular divisions of the combined volume result in four separate parts. Through the skilled craftsmanship of Venetian glassmakers, this design materializes into a jewel-like sculpture. This work takes the form of a group of three elements. The viewer must imagine the intentionally missing piece of the composition to complete the order of the “COSMOS”.

きわめて単純な幾何学的立体である立方体と球体を組み合わせることにより“空間の秩序”を表現することを 試みた。中心を同じくする球体を内包する立方体、その立体を交差する軸線にそって4つの単位に分割する。その一つの単位をヴェネチアンガラスの技術により結晶化した。オブジェは３つの単位の集合として提示される。見る者が残る1つを想起し“秩序”－COSMOSが完成する。

L’ Arte Vetraria incontra l’ArchitetturaANDO COSMOS Un’ opera progettata sulla base della pura geometria, quadrato e cerchio , che si concreatizza grazie alla maestria e all’eccellenza dell’arte vetraria di Venini. Il vetro incandescente del peso di circa 23 chili inizia ad essere lavorato; la realizzazione di “ANDO COSMOS” richiede il contributo di un Maestro vetraio e quattro assistenti. La mano del Maestro vetraio deve far ruotare continuamente la canna in modo che la massa vetrosa mantenga la forma voluta. La temperatura del vetro per modellarlo non deve essere inferiore a 800° in tutte le fasi di lavorazione.Grazie al soffio del Maestro la massa incandescente prende forma, la manualità e la velocità corale del processo di lavorazione danno vita all’oggetto. Le opere in edizione limitata sono composte da tre elementi a sezione quadrata che sembrano tenere sospesi dei quarti di sfera.Le combinazioni cromatiche di ogni volume, pensate magistralmente dall’Architetto Tadao Ando, restano visibili in più partirivelandone la composizione geometrica. I riflessi di luce sulla supeficie dei volumi e le diverse ed imprevedibili sovrapposizioni ottiche sono davvero stupefacenti in un complesso armonico e ordinato come il cosmo.

The Art of glassmaking meets ArchitectureANDO COSMOS A work designed on the basis of pure geometry, the square and circle, acquiring material form thanks to the mastery and excellence of Venini’s glassmaking art.The incandescent glass weighing about 23 kilos begins to be worked; the making of “ANDO COSMOS” requires the work of a Master glassmaker and no less than four assistants.The hand of the Master glassmaker must continually spin the rod so that the large mass of glass maintains the desired shape.In order to be shaped, the temperature of the glass must be kept at not less than 800 °C in every phase of the process. Blowing hard through the rod, the Master gives shape to the glowing mass, and the skilled hands and rapid co-ordinated movements of all involved breathe life into the object.These limited-edition works consist of three elements of a square section that seem to suspend quarters of a sphere in the air. The chromatic combinations of each volume, masterfully thought out by Tadao Ando, architect, remain visible in several parts, revealing their geometric composition. The reflections of light on the surface of the volumes and the different and unpredictable optical overlays are truly astonishing in a complex as harmonious and orderly as the cosmos.
